C2 Chapter Two

Deborah's Pov

My thoughts were quickly interrupted by a knock on my door from Terry saying it was time for dinner. I quickly freshened up and rushed to join them downstairs. Dinner was going so weird with an awkward silence hovering around until Terry decided to break the silence by asking me about school and if I would prefer to school here in our small town or over there in the UK .I thought about his question and where to start and even what to say and decided to just tell them the fun part of my stay in the UK.

If I was to compare judging from my childhood stay here and my stay there in the UK, I would rather prefer to stay over there. I told him of how I and my friends would go out and have fun. If I was to judge, this place was kinda boring and too local, upon saying this, dad and mom began debating with Mom supporting my point and Dad still sticking to his of small town as being the best. Terry joined in and then I noticed that they had gotten really close than when I was there; there was just something new like this bond existed between that I loved so much and craved to feel among. I began to wish I had stayed back like Terry. I also joined in the argument and we became a group of chattering barbarians. it feels so good to see my family this way, if only Erica was here to complete this bond then it would be more beautiful but she just had to absent herself but then it felt like I was the only one who really felt her absence.

We talked on for hours with me wishing it would never end as I saw a new version of my mum and dad which I had never seen before. While in school, we talked over the phone but I never really let it go beyond normal greeting. it felt so good to be home here.

We rounded up our dinner and then went to watch a movie after which, everyone retired to bed. I went to my room feeling so happy and secured. As I laid down on my bed, I thought about all those years of feeling lonely without mom and dad and then remembering tonight, I smiled ,and after that slept off without knowing that my life was about to take a new turn of events which was not going to be easy

Erica's Pov

I sat down beside my window as I watched little drops of water roll down, I began to imagine that they were in a competition and began watching out for the winner, I laughed as I watched the water crash down the window panes. It also made me remember the days when Debby and I would play in our big compound whenever mom and had gone out on one of their numerous schedules; whenever I was free, she would come disturb me and then we would go and play and if it was raining, we won't agree to come in until one of the maids came to drive us in . Speaking of Debby, she called me some days ago saying that she was coming home and I had to be around even though I had promised to come, I just couldn't bear the thought of being around them all, not after everything that I had come to know, not after...
