Report from Nataniel Gard to Ellen Knutsen. First day.

Dear Ellen,

I’ve never been much of a letter writer, that sort of thing comes much more easily to women. Nevertheless, I’ll try to put a few lines together. Don’t be surprised if they are a bit sketchy.

So, now I’ve seen the Lake District, although frankly not much of it, because it has been shrouded in a terrible dank fog
