She was walking along a road.

The evening sky was clear and vast. The stars in the firmament were beginning to be lit. The snow sparkled around her.

The mountains brooded over her, dark and silent. The slopes were so steep that the snow had been unable to settle on the dark, shiny rock. The only places it could find were in the crevices, like black cracks in the evening
