C12 Chapter 12

Xia Tinghan sat on the plane and looked at the layers of clouds as if they were very soft and delicious.

He remembered the first time he had flown with Lian Muqing. At that time, he had looked out the window at the clouds and told him that he wanted to taste them.

He had been joking all along, and he didn't really want to eat it. Who knew that Lian Muqing would actually bring him a cloud? He didn't know where he had learned to cook, but even now, he could still remember the taste. It was really sweet.

Xia Tinghan rubbed his temples, spurning his own weakness. He already knew that the other party was hypocritical towards him, yet he was still thinking about the good past.

Xia Tinghan closed the shutter of the window and closed his eyes.

The flight was exceptionally smooth. It was rare that there was no airflow. When he got off the plane, Xia Tinghan felt that this might be a pleasant journey.

Xia Tinghan found a local house and rented one of their rooms. He wanted to forget all his worries in this warm atmosphere.

It was, as he had thought, a warm family, full of happiness every morning over bread and toast and milk, sitting together and talking about the weather and the itinerary of the day.

Today, they went out for a walk and asked him if he wanted to come with them. Xia Tinghan refused. Although he liked the atmosphere of the family, his heart was against the happiness of others. He just wanted to watch and not interfere.

It would remind him of his own happiness, of the neatness of his family, of his grandfather, who had loved him most.

Xia Tinghan stood by the floor-to-ceiling window on the second floor and looked out. It was a large piece of farmland, green and beautiful.

Xia Tinghan pushed open the window and walked out. He leaned on the fence with both hands and took a deep breath. The smell of grass and wheat really made people relax. No wonder there were so many farmers abroad.

Perhaps it was because the scenery in front of him was too good, Xia Tinghan brushed his teeth and walked out.

The path in the field was still very muddy. His snow-white sneakers were instantly dyed black. Occasionally, a child would kindly ask him to change into boots.

Facing the smiling faces of the children, Xia Tinghan felt that his mood had improved a lot. At the very least, the time he spent thinking about Lian Muqing had decreased a lot, but forgetting was probably a difficult problem for him for the rest of his life.

Xia Tinghan had lived here for almost half a month. Every day, he walked in the fields and became friends with the local residents.

Occasionally, someone would mention his family, but Xia Tinghan avoided them. After a while, no one asked. After all, everyone had a past they didn't want to talk about.

During this period of time, Lian Muqing had called a few times, but Xia Tinghan had never picked up the phone. He didn't know if it was because he was afraid, or because he didn't want to face it, or because he told himself that he couldn't be bothered with it. In short, he always had his reasons.

Xue Aofeng called him once to ask him where he had gone. He did not hide it and directly told him where he had gone, but he did not say where he lived.

Otherwise, with Xue Aofeng's resolute and decisive personality, it would be very easy for him to kill him and take him away.

In Xue Aofeng's eyes, this was a form of escape, and escape could not solve any problems. According to his personality, it would probably be a direct solution, divorce or destroy them.

However, could he really be ruthless?

He had asked himself this question many times, but the answer was obvious. If he could make up his mind, he wouldn't come out alone to lick his wounds.
