ALEXA'S POV.

Five days later. (August 25th Wednesday.)

I stood in front of the mirror, staring at my already swollen stomach. Not too swollen, but very very visible that my top can no longer hide

Today marks fourteen weeks and five days of my pregnancy which Leonard has been waiting impatiently hard for since it is my appointment for my first ultrasound. He really wants to see the sex of our baby. He's excited about it.

"Babe. You're wasting time there. I'm waiting." Leonard's voice boomed from downstairs.

You see what I said? Left to me, I would have wanted to be surprised, but my husband doesn't seem to like surprises.

"BABE!" He yelled again.

"I'm almost done, I'll be there," I yelled back.

I dropped my top to cover back my stomach with a sigh, as I can't help staring at myself. The changes in my body are hard to miss. I'm adding weight, and I don't know if I should be scared.

I'm sure Leonard has noticed it, but he still treats me well. I guess I have absolutely nothing to worr....."

"ALEXA!!"

My heart skipped. Uh oh. My full name. He hardly calls me by that. He's angry.

I quickly took my handbag and walked out the door. I saw him downstairs as he tilted his head at me.

I smiled and walked down to meet him.

"Sorry," I said meeting him.

He just sighed. "Let's just go. You've wasted time enough." He said, and walked.

Whoa! He's still angry.

He turned, and look at me. "Aren't you gonna walk?"

I blinked. "Oh. Of course."

He walked toward his car, and I followed behind.

I need to think of a way to make him feel better. But what way?

He opened the car door for me. "Enter." He said in a commanding tone.

What a gentleman!

I smiled and entered. He slammed it shut, and turned around to the side while I watch him.

Are my hormones getting to him?

He entered, put on his seatbelt, and slammed the door shut, then he looked at me.

"Put your seatbelt on." He told me.

I looked away from him and did that.

He started the car and drove out of the house.

"I'm sorry you know?" I asked wondering why he was taking it seriously. It's kinda funny actually.

"I know." He replied without looking at me.

"But you're still angry."

"I'm not."

"You are."

"I'm not."

I furrowed my brows. I can't believe he's denying it.

"If you're not angry then look at me." I doubted.

"I'm driving."

"Glance at me then," I whined, and believe me, I know I'm beginning to annoy him, cause he sighed loudly.

"Come on." I pouted, touching his shoulder, wanting to annoy him further.

"Leo," I called him, as he was still not willing to look at me. "You want me to cry?"

He glanced at me. Yes! I removed my hand from his shoulder.

"You're annoying." He remarked.

I just smiled.

"I wasn't angry before, but I could get angry because of that." He told me with a glance.

I shook my head facing the road. "No, you wouldn't."

"Hmm." I felt his glance at me. "We're almost there."

I just nodded.

I was asked a couple of questions by the doctor attending to me which were really easy for me to answer.

She made me lay down, and take the blue gown up that I was given to wear to show my belly, then she dropped something cold like a gel on my stomach which made me hiss, as it met my skin.

I felt comforted when I felt Leo's hand running through my hair with his other hand holding my hand. His love for me doesn't really hide, but I don't know if I'm not getting my hopes up. After all, he hasn't uttered it. Yet.

The doctor placed the probe on my stomach, softly, and slowly moved it around while looking at the screen in front of her.

"Hum." Was the sound she made, and then she nod to herself, which I don't get, cause she kept making it.

My eyes met Leo who was deathly glaring daggers at the doctor. He was obviously getting annoyed, especially for the fact that she was wasting time.

"The baby?" He suddenly asked making the doctor jump a bit turning her gaze to him.

I chuckled. I knew he was gonna snap.

"How is the baby?" He asked again.

She nodded. "Oh. Yeah. Babies."

I furrowed my brows. "Babies?"

She nodded again. "Everything is fine with all of them. Explains why your stomach is at this stage in 20 weeks."

Babies?

"You said, babies. Be specific. Are we having twins?" Leo asked her.

Twins?

The doctor shook her head. "Not twins. Triplets." She informed looking back at the screen.

I gasped. Oh my God. I could feel tears building up in my eyes.

I looked at Leo who was smiling widely at the screen. "Wow." Was his comment.

He looked at me with a smile still on his face. "I'm so lucky."

I just smiled.

"There's a boy." The doctor informed, turning our gaze to the screen.

A boy.

"Another one." She said moving the probe to my stomach.

Two sons.

"Oh, and a girl."

A shaky breath came out of me. A baby girl. I'm a soon-to-be mother of three.

I feel so happy right now, and here I thought finding out I was pregnant was my happiest.

It's obvious giving birth, and seeing my babies would be my happiest.

The doctor got the probe off my stomach. "Congrats to both of you."

I smiled. "Thanks."

"When you're done, then let me know. I'll get the image for you." The doctor said and left.

Leo nodded and looked at me. "We're gonna have a daughter."

"Right?"

He nodded again. "I'm gonna have a lot to think about."

I laughed sitting up. "OK, then."

"Just so you know, marrying you was my blessing in disguise." He told me.

I smiled at the words.

"I don't regret marrying you." He confessed.

"I don't too."

He kissed my forehead and held me tight. "I.. I think I love you." He whispered loud enough for me to hear.

I was frozen by it. It maddened me that at the time I couldn't find words.

He released me and gave me a smile. "You should change."

He just nodded.

EMILY'S POV.

"Knock, knock, knock." Phoebe knocked.

We stood, patiently waiting for an answer, and we hope we do, so our journey here won't be in vain.

This isn't going too far, because if that ex-girlfriend of Leonard really did try to harm Alexa, then I'mma make her pay for it.

I was luckily given this leave cause my captain understands what I'm doing, and she knows what happened to Alexa was attempted murder. The person has to be brought to justice.

My partner would have been here with me, but he's busy with other things. If this case I'm working on happens to be more serious than it is, and not just due to emotional conflict, then we've got a huge case in which my partner will have no choice, but to get involved.

"Knock, knock, knock." Phoebe knocked again.

I just hope the girl cooperates, cause things might be hard for us since I don't have any jurisdiction here.

I heard the door click making me, and Phoebe glance at each other with a smile on our faces.

The door opened and revealed exactly who we came to see.

She furrowed her brows at us. "Who are you guys?"

"Please are you Rhea Mane?" I asked politely.

She nodded. "Yes, I am."

I showed her my badge. "I'm a police detective."

She straightened herself. "Have I done something wrong?"

I shook my head. "We don't know. Yet. We are here to ask you some questions."

She nodded. "OK."

I sighed. "Actually some personal questions. I really want an answer."

She was confused.

"I'm sure you know Leonard."

She rolled her eyes. "What's with people asking me about Leonard? Has he done something wrong? If he has, go meet his wife."

"His wife was involved in an accident and was almost killed. Someone tried to kill her." I told her.

Her mouth gaped. "Oh. I see. You really are here for me."

"You are the ex-girlfriend of her husband, so we believe you to be a suspect," I confessed.

She sighed. "I didn't do anything as such I swear. I'm not sick to do such a thing."

"So it wasn't you?" Phoebe asked.

She shook her head. "I swear to you I didn't do it. I never left here, and I've never met her. And besides, I really do love Leonard, and I wanted him back. I've wanted him back for a long time since we broke up."

I furrowed my brows. "How long?"

"The marriage isn't what separated us. I did something wrong, and it broke him. We've been exes for a very long time now, and all I've been doing is apologize to him to get him back. He was single all through, and I thought I had a chance, but after he got married, my chances were slim. I had a thought that he won't love the girl, so I tried hard still, but then he blocked me, and since then, I can't reach him anymore." She explained.

I sighed. Wow.

"If someone did try to kill her, it's not me. I wouldn't do such. I'm not that kind of a person." She furtherly said.

I nodded. "I apologize. Thanks for the help, 'cause you did help."

She equally nodded.

I looked at Phoebe. "Let's go."

We walked away from the house.

"Wow. That was big." Phoebe commented.

I nodded feeling disappointed. "Yeah."

"What do we do now?"

I looked at her. "We'll find another lead, but first let's go home."

She nodded. "Yeah."
