C12 Schadenfreude

"We're here."

Chu Hee gazed at the Sunshine Building, the very place where Zhang Kai had introduced him to work.

He entered the building and made his way directly to the 33rd floor. As the elevator doors opened, he found himself at Boda Media Limited.

Chu Hee had just taken a few steps when he was stopped by a receptionist at the front desk.

"Stop, who are you looking for?"

"I'm not looking for anyone; I'm here to work."

"To work?"

Chen Xiaoli looked Chu Hee up and down, seeing that he was young and handsome, she couldn't help but blush. Is this the handsome newcomer to the company?

Chu Hee spoke expressionlessly, "Zhang Kai introduced me. He said your boss is his classmate. My name is Chu Hee."

Chen Xiaoli immediately put on a cheerful smile.

"Then I will take you to the General Manager's office."

Chen Xiaoli, in her deliberately form-fitting skirt, was exuding her own alluring charm.

Chen Xiaoli knocked on the door of the General Manager's office, and a male voice inside said, "Come in!"

She entered with a smile and said, "Director Zhou, this is the person your classmate introduced to work."

She pointed to Chu Hee beside her.

When Zhou Yu raised his eyes, a sharp cold light burst from his gaze, directed straight at Chu Hee.

The table was slammed so hard that it buzzed.

"Take a look at the time; it's already this late. Why didn't you wait until after work to come?"

Chu Hee explained, "Sorry, I was delayed by something."

Zhou Yu remained expressionless, staring straight at Chu Hee.

"On your first day of work, you dare to be late. If everyone follows your example, how will my company make money? I'll fine you 300 yuan to teach you a lesson! If you're late more than three times, you're out!"

Chu Hee nodded in acknowledgment; after all, he was the one who was late first, and he had nothing to say.

Moreover, if he were sent back because of insubordination to his superiors, he would definitely face a barrage of scolding from his mother-in-law.

"Alright, I'll remember that."

"Alright, you can go out now, Chen Xiaoli, find him a seat."

"Yes, Director Zhou."

After Chen Xiaoli and Chu Hee had exited the office, closing the door behind them, Zhou Yu couldn't contain his impatience any longer and placed a phone call.

"Hello, Zhang Kai, the person you mentioned is here."

"Okay, Zhou Yu. Then I will have to trouble you to teach him a lesson."

"It's no big deal. Tell me, how do you want me to teach him a lesson?"

"This guy is just a freeloader, good for nothing. Assign him some difficult tasks that he can't complete. Make him your servant for the month, and then kick him out at the end of the month so that he won't get a single penny. Someone will take care of him by then."

" No problem, leave it to me! "

Chen Xiaoli led Chu Hee to a cluttered desk tucked away in the corner, beside a printer and a water dispenser.

"You can sit here."

Chu Hee frowned and asked, "Can I change seats?"

Chen Xiaoli looked at him coldly.

"All the other seats are taken. This is the only available one. If you don't like it, you can stand."

Initially, Chen Xiaoli thought Chu Hee had some background, but then he was scolded by the boss as soon as he entered the door.

She realized that Chu Hee was not well-liked and wished she could distance herself from him.

The only thing going for him was his good looks. But she still preferred people who were rich and powerful.

Chen Xiaoli rolled her eyes and walked away briskly.

Helpless, Chu Hee had to take matters into his own hands and clean up. In no time, this place was transformed.

Just as he sat down, Zhou Yu came out of the office and shouted, "Everyone, get ready for a meeting!"

Seeing everyone standing up and heading in one direction, Chu Hee also joined the crowd.

In a large conference room, Chu Hee sat in a inconspicuous corner.

Zhou Yu addressed the group firmly, "Listen up, everyone. This month, every salesperson must secure at least one deal. If anyone can't meet this minimum, then you're out! I won't tolerate any dead weight here!"

He intentionally made this statement for Chu Hee to hear. However, when he glanced at Chu Hee, Chu Hee responded with a nonchalant raised eyebrow.

Zhou Yu clenched his fist, feeling provoked. He gritted his teeth and said, "Now I'll assign tasks to you. Each of you is responsible for a company, and if you succeed, you'll get a 28% commission."

Finally, Zhou Yu looked at Chu Hee in the corner and said, "You're going to Hamilton Company. Meeting dismissed!"

All eyes immediately focused on Chu Hee, and they all had malicious grins.

As soon as Zhou Yu left, these people began to talk recklessly.

"This newcomer seems to have some bad luck. Director Zhou himself attempted to negotiate with the Hamilton boss and couldn't succeed. He's just a junior salesperson; he's bound to fail!"

"He has to complete it by the end of the month, and it's already the 21st. Is Director Zhou singling him out?"

"I bet that's the case. Director Zhou is probably just finding an excuse for him to resign."

"Stop talking, let's hurry and leave."

Soon, the conference room emptied out, with Chu Hee being the last to depart. He remained indifferent to the recent discussions.

When Chu Hee went outside, he noticed that most of the company's employees had left, with only a small number still working.

Chu Hee casually walked up to a middle-aged man and asked curiously, "Why did so many people leave?"

The man looked at Chu Hee as if he were a fool, furrowing his brow, and said, "Of course, they went out to pick up advertisements."

"So why are you still sitting here?"

The person's eyes were filled with sarcasm, "I'm different from you. You are salespeople, I am a designer. You are responsible for negotiating business, and I'm only responsible for designing advertisements."

Chu Hee understood and nodded, touching his chin, asking, "So, you're in technical labor, and we're in manual labor?"

"You are right."

Chu Hee then asked, "Then do we not need to go back to the company?"

The person patiently explained.

"You arrived for work without any prior knowledge. Remember, you need to clock in at the company before 8 in the morning and after 6 in the evening. You'll be responsible for your expenses, but as long as you can secure orders, it's all good."

Chu Hee couldn't help but laugh and said, "This job seems to suit me."

Seeing that he was still unclear, the man reminded him, "Let's talk after you get an order from Hamilton. Otherwise, you might get fired next month."
