The next morning, Chu Jie arrived at the hospital. Following Master Leng's orders, he completed Huo Mengmeng's discharge paperwork and drove her home. But as they were about to leave the hospital grounds, Mengmeng expressed a desire to stop at a nearby supermarket. Chu Jie, mindful of Master Leng's directive to take her straight home, gently refused: "Miss, just let me know what you need, and I'll go purchase it for you shortly."

Mengmeng, aware that Chu Jie was likely acting under Leng Huaiqing's command, smiled wryly and teased him, "Chu Jie, since when did you become such a champion of women's needs? Do you even know what to buy when it comes to women's products?"

Chu Jie, visibly uncomfortable with her remark, eventually gave in and drove to the supermarket. Inside, Mengmeng headed directly for the women's products section. Chu Jie hesitated, unsure whether to follow or stay back, ultimately deciding to stand nearby, silently keeping watch.

His awkward demeanor caught the attention of passersby who couldn't help but steal glances and giggle among themselves. Mengmeng, watching Chu Jie, mused that Leng Huaiqing would probably attract similar scrutiny if he were to buy sanitary pads himself. The thought of him, dressed in a designer suit yet clutching sanitary pads, being the subject of whispers, lifted her spirits and hastened her shopping pace.

Having swiftly made her purchases and paid, Mengmeng spared Chu Jie any further embarrassment and went straight home. As soon as she entered, she felt a pair of concerned eyes on her. Without a doubt, it was Soong Zicheng. As the biological grandson of her grandfather, he was the only one with such easy access to the house, yet due to tight-lipped discretion, their schoolmates remained unaware of the situation.

"Why are you here?" Mengmeng asked, giving Zicheng a brief, composed look before continuing on with her things, heading further inside the house.

Soong Zicheng quickly caught up to her, concern lacing his voice as he said, "My mom told me you fainted from low blood sugar last night. Are you okay?"

He had dressed with care for his meeting with Huo Mengmeng, donning a white shirt with the top button undone, paired with dark jeans. His sunny smile added a touch of warmth to his handsome look.

Unfortunately, Huo Mengmeng seemed utterly unaffected by his charm. She barely gave him a second glance and simply said, "What's the big deal with hypoglycemia? I just need to eat something."

What she really wanted to do at the moment was change her sanitary pad, which was urgently needed.

Interpreting Huo Mengmeng's aloofness as a sign of fatigue, Soong Zicheng didn't take it to heart.

He forced a smile and asked, "What's that you're carrying? Is it heavy? Can I help?"

"Are you okay?" Soong Zicheng asked, peering down at her with a flush of red coloring his cheeks.
