C598 The Canyon of Warlocks(2)
No bewitchment, no stepping on air, my body is held up by an upward stream.
I looked up and saw that it was a river flowing towards the sky. Beneath my feet was a vast expanse of water with surging waves. There were faint outlines of buildings on the left shore, and on the right side of the water was darkness that stretched as far as the eye could see.
Wasn't this the scene I saw when I was sick? I've been here before? This is the left shore of the Nether River, and this is the Demon Realm.
I was stunned for a while, and my distant memories resurfaced in my mind. Talitha used the "Spatial Shift" skill to create Baal's barrier. After passing through this vast water area, I continued to fly along the river that flowed upwards against the current.
This is the place! This is the place! My heart started beating rapidly. There must be a collapsed barrier on the left side of the tomb.
I took a deep breath and leaped away from the vertical stream of water, charging towards the Nether River.
The water of the Styx was bone-chilling cold, but I was not in the mood to experience it. I mustered all my strength and swam towards the left shore. When I arrived, I finally found the place where the parting of life and death would take place.
The canyon by the shore is no different from the Serpent Valley in Lut Gholein in terms of appearance. I also clearly remember that we spared a huge fiery red rock and entered the Devil King's final fortress through the entrance of the ancient tomb.
Currently, the fiery red rock is no longer there. In front of me are seven identical ancient tombs. Is this the canyon of the Warlocks that puzzle-solver mentioned? Are there countless innocent wandering souls here?
No. I can't feel the existence of the vengeful souls at all. This seems to be the cleanest place. It's so clean that I can't feel any Yin energy at all. Is this really hell? Even in the Mortal Realm, I can feel wandering dead spirits anywhere. There are no such things here.
These seven identical ancient tombs seem to be testing my final patience. I clearly remember what the ancient tomb that Talitha and I walked into looked like. It was exactly the same as these seven ancient tombs.
Humph, this kind of test won't be difficult for me. I am now a person close to the peak of my spiritual energy. I don't need to go in one by one to investigate.
I sat cross-legged in the middle of the seven ancient tombs and placed the Staff of Pain on my legs. I began to spread out my unique "Domain" skill. The tentacles of my spiritual force extended to every corner of the canyon, giving me feedback on every object that I touched.
The first ancient tomb, empty.
The second ancient tomb only had two corpses.
The third ancient tomb was empty.
The fourth ancient tomb was empty.
The fifth ancient tomb, four corpses.
The sixth ancient tomb, empty.
Seventh ancient tomb, countless corpses.
I opened my eyes. Out of the seven ancient tombs, four of them were empty, and three of them had human skeletons. I let out a long breath and prepared to explore the fifth ancient tomb.
Walking to the front of the ancient tomb, I saw a clear totem on the tomb door, but I didn't understand what it meant. It doesn't matter, understanding this won't help me much. I patted my face and went into the dark tomb.
In the past few hundred years, I have searched countless ancient tombs. Among them, there are some that are equipped with powerful mechanisms. However, through the probing of spiritual force, this ancient tomb was obviously not arranged according to human habits. Not only was there no mechanism... It was not even divided into a tomb chamber. In the spacious tomb chamber, there were four corpses placed side by side. The corpses were already covered with dust and dust, but they were actually not corrupted.
Was this the human shell stored in the Demon Realm? Would Talitha's body be here? I stared blankly at the four corpses that had yet to rot and felt a wave of sadness in my heart.
Hu! I shot out a vengeful spirit. It whistled past the four corpses, causing dust to fly everywhere. The clothes of the four corpses were torn apart, flying about like fallen leaves in the wind.
Male. The four bodies were all male, so they did not appear to be strong. Perhaps they were mages when they were alive, and Talitha was not among them.
I don't know if I am happy or disappointed, but I feel weird. These four corpses still have fresh faces and hair and beard. Their skin and muscles are completely intact, as if they just fell asleep. However, based on the degree of decay in their clothes, it could be inferred that they had been here for no less than a hundred years. Perhaps even longer.
I suddenly have an impulse to destroy the puppets of Demon Realm. But thinking about it, what about Talitha? Am I going to destroy her too? If I can't forgive them, does that mean I can't forgive Talitha as well?
I turned around and walked out of the ancient tomb. My stomach started to contract, but I couldn't spit it out. I haven't eaten for a long time.
I rushed to the side of the Styx and gulped down a mouthful of water. Legend has it that after drinking the water of the Nether River, one would forget everything. If that was the case, it might not be a bad thing. But such a good thing didn't happen. I began to vomit. I almost wanted to vomit out my entire stomach.
I weakly lay on the sand, the pain indescribable. After searching for hundreds of years, this is the result? Should I continue? Can I forgive Talitha? Although I have interrogated myself countless times, I have always given myself an affirmative answer. However, at the end of the day, I am filled with pain and contradictions.
