C21 Chapter 21

I looked at myself in the mirror just one more time, I was wearing a red evening gown, it was a satin slit back gown and it was breath taking.

I remember I had bought it but I didn't have anybody to impress the time I had bought it, but, now I had Darwin. He walked back into my life in the weirdest way.

The universe has its way of working, I clutched to the edge of my gown and I breathed in a few times.

I walked away from the mirror and towards the door.

I took my keys and I dropped it in my purse that was as red as my dress.

I rang the door bell and I took one big breath.

I was sitting in the living room when I heard the doorbell ring.

Rosé was about leaving, she was in front of the door when the bell rang.

I watched her open the door wearily, I smiled from where I was sitting, she was so gentle.

Who could be at the door I wondered.

My breath caught in my throat when I saw the pretty lady that opened the door.

“Yes?." She asked me.

“Jesus, I'm so crazy, I'm so stupid." I blurted out. How the fuck could I have thought that the one and only Darwin was for me, it was funny because a moment ago, I felt that we were both soul mates.

“I'm sorry, Darwin is in, do you want to see him?."

“No, no, I don't."

“What should I tell him then, if he asks who it was that was at the door?."

“I don't know." I said running back to my house, my steps quickened, my pulse was off the charts...

“Rosé?. Who's at the door?." I asked when nobody walked into the house. “

" Sir, I'm also very confused, a lady just rang the bell, I opened it and then she looks like she just saw a ghost and then she says, she's crazy and stupid, but she didn't look that way, she was extremely beautiful, dressed in red, she had black hair, that's the best I can describe her."

“Oh, that's weird."

“Very weird sir."

“Rosé?."

“Sir."

“How many times would I tell you to stop calling me sir before you finally stop?." I watched her laugh.

“I'm leaving now, bye, see you tomorrow."

I ran into my room and I fell on my bed, I buried my face in my pillow and I felt hot tears escape my eyes, I spent the whole day thinking of him, I literally dressed up so I could take him to see my gallery, and I went to his house to meet another woman.

Wasn't it the reason he rejected me the other day, I opened up to him and he rejected me.... I raised my head and I waited to see if I would hear it again and then it came again, the door bell.

It came again and again and again.

I walked to the door, I wiped my face and I squared my shoulders.

I opened the door to see Darwin.

“Hey." He said to me.

“What do you want?."

“I hope I didn't disturb you, it's just that, my house keeper opened the door because someone was there and the person just left saying she was crazy, I wanted to tell you to be careful."

“Your house keeper?." I asked him.

“Yeah, Rosé, she just left."

I could see him clearly, I could see his beautiful face clearly in the night light, I could see his fine lips, his five o'clock shade, his ocean blue eyes, his dark hair, his whole sinew body, and he looked more attractive than ever.

Most of all, I just realized that the pretty woman was not his girlfriend but she was his house keeper, the information changed a lot lf things.

“Ará?."

“Yes?."

“You heard me right?."

“Oh, yeah, I did, I heard you, thank you."

“Rosé said she was wearing a red dress and..." His eyes fell on my dress and then it came up to my eyes.

" Where you just at my house now?.“

" Yes, I suppose I am the crazy person.“ I said laughing a little "Please forgive me, I didn't mean to do any of those things or even say half of it. “

" Okay... “

" Yeah, I wanted to invite you to my gallery, it would be a beautiful view this time of the night and I just... “

" You saw Rosé and thought she was my... “

" Yes, that was what I thought, I'm sorry. “

“It is funny that I came to warn you about yourself. “

I laughed and he smiled.

He smiled and he came closer and gave me a light kiss on my cheek and then he left.

I stood there watching his back, after he left completely and I couldn't see his back no longer, I just stood there, watching after the space he had once occupied, I was really lucky to have him back in my life and I was lucky that I had him all to myself.

I went back into the house to fix myself and my makeup.

I reminisced about the time to come, I thought about how lovely our evening would be together, I watched the sky from my room window, it was filled with stars it was more than perfect.
