C40 The Orphanage

After we left the cliff, I helped Rain back into the Jeep, and we made our way back to the castle. When we arrived, I turned to look at Rain and realized she was asleep. I then linked Orian to check on Odett and see if she could stay with them for the rest of the night. He told me that Jessica and Odett were already asleep, so it was okay for her to stay. I got out and walked around the Jeep to get Rain out, and she looked so peaceful that I didn't want to wake her up, so I carried her back to our suite.

Waking up this morning to an empty bed, I know how Rain feels when she wakes up after I've left. I sit up, hearing the water running in the bathroom turn on. "Why don't we join our Queen?" Ryker asks, and I grin, knowing exactly what he is thinking. I get up and walk to the bathroom. I crack the door and peek in, seeing my beautiful mate naked in the shower washing her long red hair, and I'm instantly hard. I quietly enter the bathroom, undressing with every step I take. "Careful, my King, you may end up spoiling me." She says with a laugh as she enters her walk-in closet to get dressed.

"That's the goal, my Queen," I say before I enter my walk-in closet, hearing her giggle. After I'm dressed, I walk into her closet, wrapping my arms around her before she's fully dressed. "After your spa day, we'll go check out the preparations for the ceremonies. Maybe tonight we can even go for our first run if you're up for it."

"That would be great!" She says as her eyes light up with happiness. "I'd like to take Odett with us too, since we no longer have a nanny for her. Oh, and we'll need some more blood for her too."

"The blood bank is still in progress, and Mrs.Clairs' granddaughter asked to take her place as Odetts' nanny. I'll summon her to go with y'all to the spa. Everyone can have a spa day on me, and I'll get some more blood drawn for her." I tell her.

"Thank you, Zion." She says. "You're amazing."

Rains' P.O.V.

After Zion lets me get dressed, we walk to Jess and Orians' suite. When Orian opens the door to let us in, Odett rushes to Zion, and he picks her up, making her giggle, and my heart swells with happiness. Her laughter is the best sound in the world.

"Daddy, did you hear what Mommy did to the stinky lady yesterday?" She says, and Zion looks so confused. "She was so fast I didn't even see it happen. She was so cool!"

"What are you talking about, princess? What stinky lady?" He asks, and Jess and I burst into laughter.

"She's talking about Ashley," I say, and he nods in understanding.

"Oh, were you scared of the stinky lady?" He asks her.

"No way. I knew Mommy was coming to save me!" She says with a giggle.

He smiles at her and then asks Orian and Jess if they are ready to go. They nod, and we make our way out of the castle and towards the orphanage. It's a warm breezy day, and the sun on my skin makes me smile. After a bit of a walk, we make it to a huge house that I assume is the orphanage. As we walk into the house, we are greeted by the sounds of children laughing as they run around playing with each other. An older lady comes around the corner, trying to get the kids to slow down before they hurt themselves or each other. She bows and apologizes for the kids' behavior when she sees us.

"I'm Ms. Blanch, the orphanage mother." She says to Jess and I. "It's an honor to have the King and future Queen visit, as well as the Beta and his mate. And who might this little one be?"

"This is Princess Odett," Zion says, and Ms.Blanch is clearly caught off guard.
