C9 Episode-9 “Chair “

"Are you out of your minds?", asked Sienna, raising her eyebrows at him and questioning, "How do you expect me to get down in the middle of some random road? A few minutes ago, it was you who was lecturing about my lack of seriousness for my own safety and…"

"Shut up and cross the road. We have reached your hostel already!", justified David, shrugging at her.

She turned back and looked outside through her window glass. "Luna's ladies' hostel", announced the five-storeyed building painted in peach and lighted enough throughout.

"OH, so soon! Thany!" said she, opening the door. Before she set her feet outside, he caught her hand, frowning at him and interrogating, "Wait. What do you mean by Thany?"

She chuckled and explained, "Thanks and sorry at the same time. Thank you for dropping me, David, and sorry about me screwing you…" He leaned back in his seat and laughed aloud, repeating the new word over and over. She laughed along and was interrupted by his sudden frown. She got down from the car and left the door to close by itself.

"Bye!", said she, waving at him who was busy smiling at the glass on his window.

"Merdo again. He was laughing just now and looking at his attitude. Why are you so confused, David? Talk if you want to else stay the same way all the time.", grumbled she, turning away from the car. As she examined her left and right, a hand suddenly appeared in front of her and blocked her.

"David!", exclaimed she, after following his hand. He smiled at her, interrogating, "Which language is that word from?"

"Which one? David? You should tell...", chuckled she, arguing, "If you don't know the meaning of your own name, how am I supposed to know?"

He chuckled, shook his head, and emphasized, "Not my name. I meant thanks and sorry-that word..."

"Oh, Thany?" recollected she, at which he laughed and nodded.

"No language. It's my language-my style!", exclaimed she, laughing along with him. She stopped as he closed his eyes and laughed. She observed his left palm on his nose.

"David, you look quite handsome when you laugh. You suck when you frown.", she complimented. He stopped bursting out and the frown returned on his face.

"OH, not again!", exclaimed she, setting to cross the road. He caught her hand and pulled her towards him, just as she was about to start crossing the road. His eyes were into hers as he whispered, "Anything for you, Nancy" and smiled. She again wondered why he took her name again. She decided not to ask him for he always avoided the conversation. She released herself from his arms and smiled." No, let me try one last time", concluded she.

"Please tell me who Nancy is.", enquired Sienna.

He pushed her down on the road and frowned again. "David, this was very rude of you…", screwed she. He bent forward and caught her hand firmly, warning her, "Shut up, Sienna! How could you use someone else's personal matters as a matter of your gossip? Do something else to while away your time. Talk about movies or shows for gossiping and not about my Nancy."

"But, wait!", shouted she, as he sat back inside his car and began driving. "I wasn't gossiping, David. Please listen to me. David! David!", screamed she, chasing his car, but, all in vain, for he ignored her as he drove, watching her in his side-view mirrors. "I only aimed to make you feel more comfortable", concluded she, as he took a right turn and left the street.

"Huh! I wish I never meet him again this entire lifetime. He created a tiff between me and my manager at the hotel and now, he screwed me and poured water on my face. Urgh! None have ever troubled me this way ever. She crossed the road, at last, and entered her hostel.

The reception was lightened with bright orange chandeliers. She smiled as the young curly-haired receptionist nodded at her. She rushed towards the balcony upstairs and headed towards an inn with a wooden door having "Canteen" written on a white chalk piece on it. She opened the door to only read the wall clock strike eleven.

"Aunt Betty!", called she, smiling at the granny packing her handbag on the wooden table. The latter waved at Sienna who looked around, enquiring," Aunty, food?" Betty pinched her hand, chuckling and teasing, "It's already eleven now. Dinner done!"

"No way!", exclaimed Sienna, explaining, "Aunt, I had to go to the police station for a friend…"

"Oh boy! I had cooked pasta tonight", shared Betty, putting on her handbag.

As the hungry girl looked up and sighed loudly, Betty smiled, concluding, "I am sorry, child. There is no food left. I too am leaving home now. Good night!"

Sienna sighed and waved back at her, wishing her a very good night. "Come on time at least tomorrow", suggested Betty, smiling at Sienna as the two ladies walked outside the canteen. She rushed to her single bedded room on the second floor and lay flat on her bed.

"Oh shit!", ailed she, pressing her stomach and rotating in different directions. She drank the entire bottle on her study table." Ahh my stomach is paining..." whispered she, massaging her stomach." I am so hungry...", grumbled she, with her leg on the pillow. "I seriously hate you, David. I hate yon. I hate you...", uttered she, as she shook her head from left to right and right to left.

Meanwhile, at Grace's house, Ethan and Emily jumped down from their dining chairs and raced towards their bedroom upstairs. "I will go first", argued Emily, at which Ethan refused, "No me! "Emily screamed, "No you are the loser and I am the winner"

"Put your chairs back in place and go", yelled Zara, walking inside the kitchen followed by Grace. Anthony followed them to grab a bottle of champagne from the fridge. "Chair. OH nice!", remarked Anthony. Grace and Zara shrugged at him, as Grace asked him curiously," Bro, what's so nice in chairs?"

"Sis!", exclaimed he, filling a glass with champagne. He offered the bottle to them. Zara grabbed it while Grace refused. As Zara filled another glass, he explained," Yes, it is nice. Do you know how the term 'chair' came into existence? "He grinned as the two ladies shared puzzled looks at each other.

"Pass?", asked he, sipping a mouth of his night drink and showing his left fist to Grace. The latter shrugged as she bet his fist and Zara too joined. He laughed and answered, "Chair was initially pronounced as 'c-hair' meaning see the hair. A detective spotted a golden strand of hair on the floor and caught the cheating husband for his wife had black hair. He said, 'See hair see the hair' which was later shortened to chair. Hahahaha!!!"

Zara bet him with a plate as Grace slammed her own forehead. Grace patted her brother, complimenting," Bro, you are great indeed! Ever since I grew up, you haven't lost this talent of yours."

He hugged her, thanking them," Oh sis! Thank you very much. My jokes are great, right? Zara never likes them. I wonder why…" She laughed, correcting," OH, was it a joke? It sounded like theory. "Zara and Grace hifi-ed as Anthony made a cute sad face at them.

They suddenly heard the screech of the kids. They thus left the vessels besides the washbasin and rushed to the dining hall. "What happened?", exclaimed Anthony, frowning at the two kids, screaming and crying as a siren played during wars.

"Amelia won", announced Ethan, at which Zara rushed upstairs to grab the white cat which meowed at Emily slapping it gently. "She jumped on me, mom", shouted Emily, hugging Zara and weeping aloud. As Grace smiled and was about to leave inside her room, Zara called her out, "Grace!"

Grace turned as she continued, "While I calm these kids down, can you please invite David for their birthday party tomorrow? "She shrugged, asking, "But, why him? Are you guys so close?"

As Zara escorted the kids upstairs, she explained, "Not much, though but for a change, let's call him to help him get out of it."

"Get out of what, Zara?", asked Grace, shrugging at her.
