C17 Meeting Prospective Bride

Anaira Pov

Today some important guests are coming and I'm supposed to get the guest room ready. Aunt had told me to even organize the room next to mine. His staff is escorting him. Why does he need one? There are so many staff here.

" Why are you bothered?" My inner voice spoke.

" What type of person would he be? He will live next to my room." I answered my inner voice.

" Will you do some work or just stand there like a statue?" Aunty yanked my arm.

" So…my aunty. " I stuttered seeing her angry. " I have finished everything here and am going to the kitchen."

" They will be here by lunchtime. Prepare it fast. Don't you utter a single word to your uncle? Now go. " She pushed me out. A lone tear escaped from my eyes. I don't know what I have done to her that she treats me like that. Uncle, Leena, and Sheena love me so much, but Aunty doesn't even treat me as a human. I started with the preparation of lunch.

Arjun Pov

"Jai, we could have easily taken a flight. Till now we would have reached Jaipur." I was feeling tired and irritated. It felt like ages.

" I preferred the car as it would be easy for us to drive around and we could return whenever we wish to. Princess, do you remember whatever I have told you? We are playing hide and seek. You are in chachu's team and you have to win if you want a mummy." Jai asked Kavya who was sitting in the back seat.

" Yes, Dad. I remember everything. We will win. " Kavya showed her fingers in the victory sign.

It was afternoon by the time we reached their home. We were famished. When we reached there Aarav uncle welcomed us. Both of us bowed to touch his feet. Jai introduced us.

" Uncle, myself Jai. My friend cum staff Arjun. My daughter Kavya." Kavya joined her hands to greet her uncle.

" Welcome home son. This is also your home. Let me introduce you to my wife Reema, and my twins Leena, and Sheena." After the introduction, all of us came inside. I saw a girl standing in one corner. Uncle gestured for her to come near us.

" She is Anaira. She lives with us."

" Don't mind her, she is an orphan who lives with us and gets the same privileges as my daughters." Reema Aunty interrupted Uncle. She had a petite figure with a wheatish complexion. Her eyes held innocence. They were not very big but I don't know why I found them captivating. She was wearing a blue Kurti paired with white dress pants which suited her. On the whole, she was eye-catching. Jai's hand on my shoulder broke my thoughts. A woman who I assume was their helper stood before me with a tray full of juices. I picked one. It tasted different but on a good note. It was sweet yet tangy.

" This is delicious. " I couldn't hold back.

" I agree with Arjun. "

. " This is Anaira 's special drink. She doesn't share her recipe with anyone." One of the twins, I think Leena told us. They were not identical but I don't know why I was having problems recognizing them.

"Lunch is ready," Anaira announced. Her voice was as sweet as her strawberry-pink lips. I sound like a pervert but I can't help it. Her full pink lips captivated my attention.

Jai Pov

After lunch, we were shown our room. Anaira took Arjun with her. Since I was a hell of tired, both of us drifted into a slumber. A slight knock on my door was something that brought me back from my dreamland. Not wanting to disturb Kavya, I got up to open the door. One of the twins stood, I scratched the back of my head as if meticulously I would remember her name. I have to be attentive to remember who is who.

" Good evening. Dad wanted you to join him for the tea in the garden. If you wish the same. " She was fidgeting with her fingers. It was then I noticed she had long slender fingers and her nails were decorated articulately. Her cheeks were slightly red. Was she blushing, but why? I didn't do anything.

"Are you coming?"

" I would love to but Kavya is still sleeping. She will be scared if she doesn't find me when she wakes."

"That is not a problem. Anaira can look after her till you are back." Aunty who was passing suggested. She started shouting her name. I left with Sheena after Anaira volunteered to look after Kavya.

The view was panoramic. The sun was setting and the sky was painted with hues of orange and pink. The setting sun was casting shadows. The sun looked like a big orange hanging in the sky. The breeze was cool as compared to the hot one in the afternoon. I sat next to uncle. Aunty served me tea and some snacks. They were delicious.

" Aunty, where is Arjun? I don't see him here." I turned my head in all directions.

" Why are you so bothered about him? He is just your employee. He is in the outhouse with Anaira. She will look after him. Anaira has served him his tea in his room. Why don't you have your tea." She spoke nonchalantly. I didn't argue further and thought of finding Arjun on my own. My heart warmed seeing the view. Kavya was in Anaira's arms giggling. Her arms were around Anaira's neck. Kavya doesn't warm up easily with strangers but she looks comfortable with Anaira. She stretched her arms towards me.

"Daddy, where were you? Me searching for you. I started crying when didi( elder sister) lifted me and kissed me. She told me she would bring me here. I stopped crying. See, I even wash my face. I'm a good girl na?" She kept her head on my shoulder and winded her arms around my neck.

" You are my princess. Love you." I kissed her on her cheek and made her sit on my lap facing everyone.

" Princess, it is time for milk."

" No milk dad. Kavya hates milk."

" If you hate milk then don't drink." That Anaira girl interrupted before I could coax Kavya to drink milk.

" Do you like chocolate?"

"Mmmmh, Kavya loves chocolate." Kavya licked her lips at the mention of chocolate.

"Have you ever drank chocolate?"

" Can we drink chocolate? Kavya always eats them." Kavya gave a questioning look. She was looking adorable with her finger on her chin as if in deep thought.

"OK, I will bring chocolate in a glass and you can drink it. " After a while, she came with a cute mug which has a protruding figure of Mickey Mouse.

" Dadda see Mickey " Kavya excitedly pointed to the mug.

" Kavya, this is your chocolate. Drink fast, if you don't drink fast then this Mickey will run away." Without wasting a single minute, Kavya started drinking the milk and she finished it in a go. I mouthed a thank you to Anaira.

" See I have finished. Now play with me. You promised to play with me in the dollhouse." She wiggled in my arms. I let her go.

"Anaira can you please take me to Arjun? I need him for some office work." I got up to follow Anaira when Aunty called me.

" Anaira call Arjun, he will come and meet Jai. He is an employee and he should follow his employer."

" Aunty, I would appreciate it if you please don't interfere in my relationship with Arjun. He is like my brother from another mother. She shrugged. I was fuming and didn't want to argue. I started following Anaira. She stopped near the small house. I got in and was shocked to see the view in front of me.
