C19 Chapter Nineteen

Chapter Nineteen

Thomas POV:

"I really wish my father had me first before my sister." I told my friend, Tom.

"Why would you say that bro?" Tom asked me.

"We wouldn't have gone through all this drama." I replied.

"But all this drama actually got you here, if not the whole issue would have gone down the drain." He told me.

"Yeah, but without me making peace with Uncle Victor, who knows if we would have gotten here." I said.

"But I am happy she agreed to the conditions Uncle Victor gave." I added.

Fiona's POV:

I got everything concerning my father's company and I planned to take out the board of directors, one after the other.

Whitman has been calling for sometime now but I kept ignoring. I really felt bad for us, but I could do nothing.

"Fiona, desist from firing the workers." Uncle Victor told me over the phone as I was on my way to work.

"Why, Uncle?" I asked him.

"Because I do not want you doing that." Uncle Victor told me.

"Now, I need you to take the manager back." He ordered me.

"But Uncle, the last time I checked you had given me full ownership of my father's company." I told him.

"Yes, but I n..." He tried to say before I cut him.

"You have nothing to worry about Uncle. I can handle the company well." I said.

"And besides, I would let you know about every step I take here, trust me Uncle." I added.

"Are you sure, Fiona?" He asked.

"Yes, and I would be coming home today so we can start planning the wedding." I told him.

"That's my girl." He said.

"I will be waiting for you and I will let Alexander know about it." He said and he ended the call.

I made sure everything that I needed to do was ready and I headed back home.

"Uncle Victor should not bother seeing me anytime soon." I said as I drove off.

Whitman's POV:

"You have been in your room for sometime now, son." Mom said as she entered my room.

"What is the problem?" She asked me in concern.

"It is nothing, Mom. I just wanna be alone." I told her to avoid eye contact.

"Have you been crying?" She asked, shocked.

"No." I said as I turned my face away.

"But your eyes are all swollen." Mom said as she noticed my eyes.

"She left me." I said as I hugged her tight.

"Pamela?" She asked as she patted me on the back.

"No.. not that liar." I said, still crying.

"If you really want her then go get her." Mom said.

"She is not answering my calls. She wants me to move on." I said.

"Does she feel the same way for you?" She asked me again.

"Yes." I answered.

"Then make her understand." She told me.

"Fight for what you want." She said again.

"This is the first time I am seeing you this way.. you must be really into her." Mom told me.

"Go for what you want, my child." Mom said as she consoled me.

Fiona's POV:

"Fiona, please can you take out the trash?" Veronica asked me.

"Okay, Mom. That shouldn't be an issue." I said.

"Fiona." I heard as someone grabbed me in an embrace.

It was Whitman. I was so happy to see him but didn't show it.

"What are you doing here. It is quite late you know." I told him.

"I was not feeling well since the other day we met, so I decided to come check up on you." He explained.

"Besides, you have not been picking my calls. That got me worried sick too." Whitman added.

"You shouldn't be seeing me. This can cause me a lot of trouble, you know." I chastised him.

"So are you trying to say that you are not happy seeing me?" He asked me.

"You need to leave, now." I told him as I hid my tears.

"Really?" He asked me in shock.

"Yes, leave." I said as I ran into the house.

"But I warned you." Veronica said as she saw me in tears.

She has been watching us behind the window.

"It's hard to let go." I told her, now crying profusely.

"It's okay. It is okay." Veronica said, consoling me.

"You did what you did for your family, Fiona." Thomas said from the balcony.

"You just shut up!" I yelled at him.

"Calm down, Fiona. Thomas, can you please come in?" Veronica told me as she ordered Thomas into the living room.

"Thomas, your sister is trying to do everything possible for your own good. Please, can you just be there for her now?" Veronica asked Thomas.

"I have done just that, but y'all be acting like I do nothing." Thomas told Veronica.

"I do not need you to do anything for me.. just shut up." I told him.

"Besides, what do you know about love?" I asked in rage.

"That is not my problem, but do not just get things messed up." Thomas replied as he tried to walk out.

"Because you know what Uncle Victor is capable of doing." Thomas said as he slammed the door.

"It's fine, it's fine." Veronica said.

"I will always be here for you." She said, patting me on the back.

I couldn't still imagine I gave in to Uncle Victor's conditions.

"Apart from taking my father, he now wants to take the love of my life away." I thought.

"All for his benefit." I told myself.

"Dad, the strong woman you raised is tired." I said in tears.

"I wish you were here to fight for me." I said in tears.

"Your father would not be happy seeing you this way, Fiona." Veronica said.

"You need to buckle up because the journey is getting fiercer." She added.

"Sit tight and stay strong and remember that I am always here for you." Veronica consoled me.

"Thanks Mom." I told Veronica sobbing.

"I hope he forgives me, because I have never felt this bad my entire life." I told her.

"I am sure that he will come to understand, very soon. Trust me." Veronica said, assuring me.

"I hope so." I said.

"I hope Victor gets ready for what is coming. I won't spare him and his son, Alexander." I said quietly to myself.
