C9 Ice cream 2

I was so nervous! Alpha Erik, indeed, did accept to come with us! He was in the passenger seat, while Aaron was driving the car. That was my first time inside one of those machines. I was always on foot.

“Are you comfortable back there?” Aaron asked me. He was staring at me through a little mirror on the front. I could see his eyes looking back at mine.

I nodded at him and looked at the window. I didn’t have the heart to look too much at him, for I was afraid Alpha Erik might think I was being disrespectful. I saw how he seemed gloomy when his eyes caught Arron holding my wrist, a few minutes ago.

It was like that car was too small, not enough air inside. All I could smell was Alpha Erik’s scent. It was making my mind kind of dizzy. I was sure he was not using his Alpha aura on me, so it made no sense in my head why I would be feeling like this. Maybe I was too afraid of him? Yes… it was probably that. And staying in such a small space, confined with him, was not helping me one bit.

The territory was really big. We got out of the packhouse, got into this car and we were in it for a while. Just now I could start to see some buildings. Since me and the other rogues entered the pack by a part of it that was near the packhouse, I didn’t have a notion of its real size.

The streets were surrounded by little stores. Here and there, first, then, it became a fine line full of them. It was so beautiful! It was getting dark, so the lights were already on and I couldn’t help but smile. I had never entered the town of a pack before. Well, I had never entered a pack, period.

The car turned to the right and then, it stopped. I looked ahead and Aaron was pressing a bottom and I heard a ‘click’. The belt in front of his chest, that was connected to that bottom, was gone and he opened the car’s door.

He came to my side and opened my door, offering his hand. I smiled, took it and got out of the car. I was happy I could smell fresh air and was not so suffocated by Alpha Erik’s scent. But it didn’t last long, for he was right behind me and now, I could smell him even more.

“Let’s go to this ice cream shop at once.” he said, his voice had a tone of annoyance. Well, if he was not happy being here, why did he come, anyway? I looked at Aaron, thinking he made a poor choice by deciding to invite that big werewolf.

I was getting confused by all that info in front of my eyes. I wanted to look at everything, at the same time. Aaron was walking a bit ahead of me with the Alpha.I looked up and I saw that big, no, giant ice cream on top of the store. Oh, it was so beautiful!

Then, I heard a loud noise and looked to my left. A car was coming my way. I don’t know what happened to me, but I could not stop looking at it, while it was approaching me. My whole body was frozen. I closed my eyes, but instead of pain, I felt something really warm on my skin. First, on my waist, and then, embracing me and all I could feel was that warmth so welcome. But then, the scent.

I opened my eyes and saw everything blurry. It was dark. But my vision was focusing and I could see that was a fabric. A dark blue fabric. was so near and it smelled like…

Looking up, I saw his chest, his neck, his jaw, his mouth, his perfect nose and his green eyes. Those eyes that were haunting my dreams. He was looking directly at me and the world stopped. I could hear nothing else. I could only see and feel him, all around me.

“Rae!” Aaron said, approaching and that was what made me get back to reality. Alpha Erik cleared his throat and released me. I felt like hugging his waist, to try to stay near that source of heat, but I could not. What was wrong with me? “Oh, my Selene! I thought you were right behind us and then, you were gone!”

“Next time you bring someone like her to town, Beta, make sure you keep an eye on her.”

Alpha Erik said and entered the ice cream store.

‘Someone like her’. What was that supposed to mean?

“I’m so sorry, Rae!” Aaron said and held my arms. I looked at him. He looked very worried and sorry. I just nodded and gave him a weak smile. “Let’s get inside.”

I could not look around anymore. Not because I almost died or got badly injured. But because I was confused. Alpha Erik was really warm. Aaron was not. I mean, he was holding my arms, but I felt practically nothing. How curious…

I took a deep breath and decided I had to enjoy my time there. What if that was my only and last time going to town? I had to make the most of it.

The store was beautiful. So beautiful! The floor was like that game Cassandra showed me the pictures…chess! Yes, chess. The tables were mint, which made me look at Alpha Erik, but he was looking in my direction, so I turned my glance somewhere else.

The chairs were pink, like a sweet. The place had a few people there and when they noticed Alpha Erik, the atmosphere changed completely. They stopped talking and lowered their heads as he was walking by. They looked at Beta Aaron and did the same. Then, they looked at me and frowned. I laughed inside.

“Sit here.” Aaron said and pointed to the chair. Not a chair, a bench. A pink, fluffy bench. I did sit and Aaron sat beside me, while Alpha Erik was in front of me. That was not good. It meant I could not look up, or I would be looking at him.

Aaron asked what I wanted to have and I asked for mint ice cream. I felt my cheeks burning when I chose the flavor. Aaron frowned a little, because of course he could not understand my embarrassment, but that was fine. Nobody knew! Aaron asked for a chocolate ice cream and Alpha Erik ordered a vanilla milkshake.

Our orders arrived pretty fast and Alpha Erik would not stop staring at me. That was my first time having ice cream. And, actually, my first time tasting mint. I loved the scent of it, but had never tried it before.

The moment my tongue touched the ice cream, I had to close my eyes to take in the feel. It was… perfect!

“I don’t even need to ask if you liked it.” Aaron commented and I opened my eyes. Alpha Erik was looking straight at me, holding his straw between his index and thumb fingers. He was staring at my mouth, then, his gaze went up to my eyes. I could feel my heartbeat increasing. What was going on? He opened his mouth and put the straw between his lips, sucking .

I looked away, at Aaron. He was looking at me, smiling.

“You liked it, right?” He asked. I looked at my hand, where the ice cream was starting to melt, and back at Aaron, before I nodded.

When we left the store, the sky was all dark. Suddenly, something grabbed my wrist. I looked at it and I saw it was Alpha Erik. He raised his eyebrow to me.

“Just so you won’t get hit by a car.” he said.

“Wow, very thoughtful of you.” Aaron said to the Alpha, who kept looking at me. His eyes became colder, then.

“I don’t want to lose my slave in such a stupid way.”

I looked down and inhaled deeply. Yeah, I was just a slave.
