Zada gaped at Emma who was gobbling her breakfast as if this was the last day of her life. What has gotten into this girl?

"Emma. Are you fasting for a month?" Zada asked in confusion seeing the way Emma eats.

"I am dieting from today onwards, Zada. I need my energy." Emma said swallowing the food hurriedly.

"This is how you diet?" Zada asked in disbelief. Emma is the weirdest girl she has ever seen in her life, Zada thought with a chuckle.

"I am eating only breakfasts from today. I need energy until tomorrow morning" Emma said, with a mouthful of food making Zada look at her in disbelief.

"Why this sudden dieting plan?" Zada asked, confused because Emma is such a foodie.

"Yesterday that brat called me fatty. Her nerve!" Emma huffed in annoyance.

"Which brat??" Zada asked in confusion.

"A brat in my neighbourhood. I was on a video call with my momma and this girl had to be there with momma. That itself is so irritating. I mean doesn't she have her own momma. Why come for mine? I always hated her. Ever since she was born five years ago, she had been my nemesis. She always wants to be the centre of attention. Okay, she can be the centre of attention of her parents. Why mine too" Emma huffed in annoyance.

She again got side tracked from the topic of discussion

"Well, we were talking about your dieting" Zada reminded

"Yeah that's what I was talking about. That little twit called me fatty. How dare she. I will show her the next time I go home. I would be size zero by then" Emma said with determination.

"You are crazy. You are having a rivalry with a child?" Zada asked, shaking her head in disbelief

"She is not the cute adorable five year olds you see in the TV shows. She is a little devil" Emma said making a face.

"Enough. We are getting late. I don't want to miss another lecture. I have been missing quite a number of lectures lately" Zada said, slinging her bag on her shoulder and tapping her feet on the floor impatiently waiting for Emma to finish her breakfast.

A teasing smile appeared on Emma's face.

"Really? And why were you missing those lectures? Something to do with our very own bad-boy extraordinaire" Emma asked and Zada rolled her eyes

"Don't ask me" Zada said with a groan

"Tell me tell me.. What happened in the library. I saw him following you into the library" Emma said and Zada looked at her in disbelief

"And yet you didn't come to rescue me??" Zada asked

"Now why would I want to be a killjoy" Emma asked cheekily earning a whack from Zada

"Shut up and come if you want. I am going" Zada turned on her heels and started walking forwards

Emma quickly fell in step with Zada

"Come on. I am your bestie. You are supposed to tell me everything that happens in your love life. Now tell me what happened in the library" Emma prodded

"I don't have a love life." Zada countered

"Your strawberry face says another story baby" Emma teased

"Strawberry?"

"Yeah strawberry. Now everyone says your face has become like a tomato when you blush. What is the fun of being like everyone? Strawberries are also red. And it looks more beautiful than a tomato. Anyway I don't really like tomatoes very much. If I am eating a burger or sandwich I always pick out the tomatoes. Even in the curries if they are visible I always throw them away. Momma always scolds me saying tomatoes have all those vitamins A B C D E F J. As if it's only there in tomatoes" Emma, as usual, got side tracked from the topic.

"There is no vitamin F and J" Zada said

"Really?? How does it matter anyway? You get what I mean right. I just said it in a flow in the alphabetical order" Emma said with a casual shrug

"And in the alphabetical order G comes after F, not J" Zada pointed out

"You are right. How could I make such a mistake? You are a genius Zada" Emma beamed at Zada making her roll her eyes

"There are so many vitamins that I got confused a little. And tomato is a fruit with so many vitamins, my momma says so. Or is tomato a vegetable? I always wonder about it. What do you think tomatoes are? A fruit or vegetable?" Emma asked

"Does it matter? Either you eat it or not eat it." Zada said thanking heavens for Emma's short attention span which lead her to forget the topic of discussion which was Fredrick in the beginning

"You are right. It doesn't matter. It's not as if your stomach would conduct an interview before letting food in" Emma joked

"Do you realise you are talking plain rubbish, Emma?" Zada asked and Emma pouted

"Poor little me" Emma said adorably

"Yeah right. Now poor little you, this is where we go on our separate ways" Zada said earning a gasp from Emma

"You are breaking off our friendship. For such a trivial thing. I promise I won't talk about tomatoes anymore" Emma said pinching her throat with her her thumb and index finger

"Uffo crazy girl! I am talking about our classes. You have to go right from here. And I have to go left" Zada said pointing her department with her thumb

"Oh. I know you wouldn't abandon me. How can you break it off with me anyway? I am such a cute, smart and beautiful friend" Emma said

"And fatty too" Zada teased making Emma huff

"I won’t talk to you anymore" She said and turned around and walked away making Zada laugh

"Are you the morning goddess? Because everything about you is divine sweetheart"
