C1 Prologue

As Akashore takes me to Dad’s office I think to myself, what’s his plans? Why am I being targeted? Then I hear Akashore’s thoughts, that’s why…as Akashore sits me down, Akashore sits down as well as Dad stands in front of us both. Akashore looks at me with a serious tone in the expression of his eyes.

“Until our problem here in Halloween Island is over, Honey, we cannot let you stay here after it is finished.” Akashore says to me.

“What are you talking about Akashore? We need her help not to have him gone!” Dad exclaims. But with Akashores perspective on these unknown events that are going on, I am simply confused. Why doesn’t Akashore want me around…he will not let me stay here on Halloween Island. What the hell is going on here?

“We cannot take a chance Robert, we cannot be too safe.” Akashore explains. Dad just nods and then turns away with tears of his pitch-black colored blood rolling down from his dark brown eyes. Akashore turns to look at Dad in silence. Turning around, he looks at me, Akashore sighs then places his hand on the top of my head. The warmth that comes from the most loving touch and is powerful. I feel compelled to just stand there and to look into his deep, dark chocolate brown eyes…they are more powerful and dripping with passion than ever. Akashore then pulls himself back and smiles at me.

“As King of Halloween Island and the original clan I will make sure that you, my dear mate will be in safe hands, you will be safe–” Akashore says then silence hits me in the face, causing me to fall into a deep bottomless hole of darkness.

It is dark and cold. Something is wrong here...something.

“Hey, get up, you stupid brat!” Screams out by a total stranger. Who is there? Am I in Hell? Or is this just a dream?

“Hey, are you even listening to me!” Hearing those words, I slowly open my eyes and I see myself in the middle of a street. The buildings, the ground and the sky have no color. There was not a soul in sight and yet this place looks like millions of people could live in these areas. This is not right.

“Where am I?” I ask myself and as I get up and look around more clearly into my surroundings. Turning around, I see an overweight man that looks to be at least in his forties to fifties. His eyes are dark green and bloodshot red veins popping out, his skin is pasty, and he is wearing ripped up clothing. Nothing made me more than to just throw up in my mouth, not just by his appearance, but the scent that came from his presence too.

“Get off the street ya damn brat, you are scaring my tenants." He says looking at me in utter irritation. Looking at him, I have a gut feeling that he is going to do something frightening to me…

“Who are you?” I ask. The stranger snorts loudly like a pig in a hillbilly farm.

“What’s my name? Tell me yours and then I will answer." Crap, I do not have any clue.

“I don’t know, I guess I am my own stranger." I answer back to him. All he does is laugh and points directly at me.

“Wow, can you be any more denser?" He says. But then after a quick look into my eyes, his eyes then changed from irritation to incredible shock, like something he saw between us. As he walks over to me in the middle of the street and then extends his hand out to me.

“I will give you a name and a few other things, but under one condition."

“I am going to be taking care of you, as you’ll be taking care of collecting rent from my tenants, deal?” he says looking at me with a calm attitude.

“What reason do I have for me to trust you? I just met you and yet you are offering me a home and being an errand boy to collect rent from your tenants, why?” I ask. The stranger smiles warmly. The smile surprisingly enough is not something expected, it is warm and peaceful. He seems sincere.

“You remind me of someone that I knew a long time ago, I want to help you now, are we about to make a deal?" He asks. I look at him and nod.

“Deal."

“Let’s go before they start wondering if there’s any funny business still. Come on, I’ll show you the people here.” Stanley says then this is just the beginning…

*******

It feels like it was just yesterday since finding myself in Hells Capital and after one year of living in Hells Capital, as the girl who has lived through demon attacks and much more…the name is Nancy Parker, I’m just a twenty-one year old woman that finds myself being taken under by the wing of the extremely infamous Stanley Parker so I can be safe from being killed by demons and other monsters. Because of the lack of home and the lack of my past memories, Stanley not only gave me a roof over my head, but we made a deal by collecting rent from his tenants in his apartment building. But it does not bother me in the least bit. As I lie in bed in dead silence, I think long and hard about the dreams that I have been having. An elderly woman saying that she will always be there for me. “Melody, please be safe." the woman says. I open my eyes and I look around by hearing her voice, there was nothing.

“I wonder who she is." I say to myself. Getting up, I walk into the bathroom. Looking in the mirror, I see a stranger.

“Who are you, Nancy Parker? just who are you?” I ask my reflection. Then I hear a knock on the door.

“Nancy, we need your help in getting rent from one of the tenants. So, get going." Says one of Stanley’s staff employees, then walks away from the door. Getting out of the bathroom and walking to the door, I clear my mind of my dreams.

“Well Nancy, let’s get to work.” I say to myself and walk out and on my way to another day’s work.

Walking to the door of the tenant’s condo, I knock on the door.

“Mr. Redding, I’m here to collect your rent as you’re already one month late, now open up or I’ll get Stanley here." I say, warning him. Silence was all I heard, then the door opened. A child-like form for a demonic entity stands before me and smiles at me like he had angel wings and a halo over his head.

“Oh dear Miss. Parker, I know I didn’t pay yet, but I have the money so why don’t you come in" She says, biting his tongue with me being here.

“Nice try, hand over the check or I’ll get Stanley involved." I say, warning her one last time. This time, it was not pretty. The girl’s eyes turned to black at night and baring her teeth, she was someone Stanley talked to me about. This was not Mr. Redding, this was--

“Nancy, leave it to me." Says Stanley from behind me. Turning around I groan from this situation. Walking away, I can hear inhumane sounds as I walk down the hall and back to my room again, I start talking to myself.

“Today seems different, maybe that elderly woman came to me and helped me through Stanley getting in between me and that demon, who really knows."
