C10 The moment of fate

As I laid in bed in the middle of the night, it’s been a long time since those asses tried to control me and tried making me think that I needed to remember but yet it wasn’t the right time yet. So fuck it I’m done with dumb memories of the past, I wanna live in the now. My future is tomorrow and today is here. I’m a new me, not some old me that might’ve been something that even though I’m not now anymore maybe it was a gift from the goddess that said that the new me in the here and now is meant to be. My life. My choice. And not turning back.

“I’m proud that you haven’t turned into the old you Mike. I’m proud that you’re making your choice to leave the past that you shouldn’t be a part of.” Said Akashore who appeared before me. He walked over and sat down by my side. We both smiled and he then pinched my cheek. All I could do was giggle quietly.

“Thanks.” I said as I got into a sitting position and all I wanted to do was to hold him in my arms.

“Nope, you go back to bed, I shouldn’t have walked into your room and woke you up. So I’ll talk to you when your Nana wakes up and you two hang out in the morning. I’ll see you later Mike.” Akashore said, then kissed my forehead and left.

As I got up from the futon, I grabbed my meds and chalice and walked into the kitchen after listening to the coffee being made. I stood by the fridge and freezer and smiled at Nana as she poured coffee and creamer in her favorite mug and sat down in front of the TV. I went over and I filled my chalice with just coffee and Nana’s hazelnut creamer and sat down with her.

As we watched the news, all I did besides that was smile as I saw Akashore sitting by me and reading another book that he traveled with before I woke up. As I watched TV, all I could think of was simple--.

“Sick people out there.” Said Nana as she listened to teens being killed by some old guy in the city. Man can this world get anymore fucked up.

“Tell me about it.” I replied back as I took the final sip of coffee and the final bite of my blueberry waffle as it’s the last box of waffles that I had left since I had the chocolate chip waffles from all of the breakfasts and desserts that I had. I need to quit it or I’ll never get into a healthy diet. Getting up and washing my chalice and drying it, I turn to Nana and smile.

“I gotta go and call Dad, we’re hanging out at the mall today.” I said.

“Ok, Mary Angelica.” Nana said smiling. Ugh! Why can’t she understand that I’m not the old Mary Angelica anymore? I’m Michael Barren and that’s it, end of discussion!

Going into my room with the phone in my hand, I sit by my desk and sigh.

“Akashore, it feels like people I know have skulls of iron on them?” I asked. Akashore just laughed a bit.

“I’m serious here!” I said in irritation. Akashore then walked up to me and kissed me. The sparks that ran through me caused me to jump out of my chair and fall on my ass.

“Sorry, I didn’t mean it like that. You’re just cute with the way you talk. But also--” Akashore said but then stopped and kissed me on the ear. His breath was warm, but as it hit me I felt a cold and shocking sensation against my ear. Why is it when I’m with him, I feel so alive?

“Well Mike, I don’t want you to get sidetracked so I’ll talk to you later.” He said then vanished.

“Hey Mikey!” Said Dad. I smile, knowing that he is considerate over my spiritual, mental and emotional transition from female to male. He makes me live knowing that other than my therapist and friends, that he can call me Mikey as a nickname for me.

“Are you still free today?” I asked.

“Yeah, did you get to sleep last night though?”

“Yeah.” I answered.

“Good. What about your meds?”

“Yeah. I had it with my coffee and waffle.”

“Good.” Was all Dad said. Now for the important questions.

“When are you coming over? is Jamie coming over?” I asked. All I know is that it’s a maybe. Since one of their friends had to go to the hospital for that heart issue, Jamie hasn’t been around very often. It doesn’t bother me since if someone that I’m close to was in the hospital, I’d do what Jamie’s doing right now.

“Yeah, he’s helping our friend get to the doctors so he’s gonna be busy for a while.” Dad explained. Yeah I don’t blame Jamie at all.

“So when are you coming over?” I asked. Dad just took a deep breath and took in a moment.

“I’ll probably be around 1:00 or 1:30 since I gotta bring Donna to the doctors and Patty to the doctors also for her back. Other than that I’ll be free like a bird.”

“Ok call when you’re on your way so I know how much time I have.”

“K Mikey.”

“Talk to you later Dad.” I said then hung up the phone.

As I worked on my writing, Akashore popped up out of nowhere.

“Ahh! you stupid ass!” I exclaimed as I was almost ready to fall hard on my ass.

“Sorry, I guess I just feel like a kid at a candy store. I like talking to you, you make my day golden.” Akashore said smiling in glee. I thought for a moment. He’s just one of a kind.

“Hey Akashore?” I said looking at him.

“Yeah?” Akashore said back. Looking at him, I leaned towards him and spiritually kissed him on the forehead.

“I love you.”

Now in the morning Dad said he was going to be here around 1:00 to 1:30 at the latest. Now it’s 2:15 and I’m getting annoyed now. Picking up the phone, I called him up. After a few long and agonizing rings, he finally answers the phone.

“Hey Mikey I’m still driving, so I can’t talk for long.” Said Dad over the phone.

“Hey Dad, are you on your way yet or what?” I asked, feeling annoyed since I’ve been waiting for over an hour as he kept saying that he was on his way.

“I’ll be there in thirty minutes just be patient.” Said Dad.

“I’ll meet you outside the house. Talk to you when you get here.” I said then hung up the phone. Walking outside in the late fall felt nice as I just needed cold air to help clear my lungs. Mom and Eve’s smoking is getting out of control. I’m just glad Dad’s getting a room ready for me to move into.

“You must be my Brother’s boyfriend.” Said a husky voice. Turning around and I see an older guy, maybe his late thirties to early forties. He seems familiar, but can’t pinpoint on how though.

“Who are you? I asked.

“Ha! please, you’re not worth my time to tell you my name. You pathetic human.” Ok, now I can see how much of a dick he is.

“Richard, leave him be or so help me God I’ll rip you to ribbons.” Threatened Akashore. Looking past the arrogant bag of dicks, I see Akashore with his eyes pitch black. His eyes were calm, even though he was probably more pissed off than me.

“Well, well, well! I never thought you’d dump Akasha for a human. Maybe it's a pity that you have for him losing his memories from before Charl-” Richard said but then stopped talking to a complete halt. Fear slowly coating over his sky blue eyes--which was the only good thing that he had. Then Richard nodded and flushed away.

“Don’t worry about your past, it’s dead and needs to be forgotten. I love you, this life is so you can be free. That’s all I can say for now, but I’ll talk to you later as your Dad’s around the corner.” Said Akashore but then smiled.

“I love you.” He said then flashed out as well. I blinked my eyes for a moment and I saw Dad pulling into the driveway. Walking, not almost running to his car and jumping in, I see Dad and smile.

“Hey Dad.” I said.

“Hey Mary-oh no, Mikey!” Said Dad laughing.

“You said we were going to the mall right?” I asked. Dad nodded and after I got buckled in we drove off.

As we walked in and started walking all over the mall with Dad, I felt Akashore’s hand around mine. I try to ignore it as I need to focus on the physical world.

“Anything you wanna talk about, Dad?” I asked.

“Anything you want is fine with me.” He answered. All I did was smile. He’s pretty cool for a Dad, even though he doesn’t want me to have tattoos, odd piercings, and stuff that “Girls” shouldn’t have. It’s mean to say since it’s the twenty-first century, but he’s old school so whatever. Walking by the Hot Topic store, I nudge Dad on the shoulder.

“Maybe we can get some jeans here?” I asked. Looking at the sign of the store, he nodded.

“Let’s go, Mikey.” Dad said.

Looking around for some jeans, I start groaning. They’re too small!

“Miss, can I help you with something?” Asked by one of the women that worked here. I turned around and nodded.

“I’m just frustrated that I can’t find anything in my size. I’m looking for Men’s jeans and they’re all small, I’m a size large as you might be able to tell.” I explained. All she did was laugh.

“I don’t see that at all, but I’ll help you find some things for you.” She said smiling.

As I walked out of Hot Topic with Dad, we then heard gunshots nearby.

“Everyone, get on your knees and give us your things!” One of the robbers yelled as we looked to our left. Then the horrifying thing happened; they looked at me. They stared at me and then smiled evilly.

“We’ll start with this one.” Said the one robber. Then raising their gun and then--.

“Mary!” Shouted Dad. I opened my eyes and I found myself in a plain, medium sized bedroom. A full sized bed, a bedside table with a lamp and four simple white walls. Getting up and off the bed, I feel nothing but pain in my shoulder.

“What’s going on here?” I asked myself as I walked towards the door and left.

Walking downstairs and walking into what I’m assuming is a family room. This feels familiar, but it's not what I’m seeing; it’s what I sense from my surroundings.

“I see you still don’t remember.” Said a voice from behind me. Turning around sharply, I see a man. He looked just a normal white guy, he had long blood red hair, he looked around mid-late teens. But the one thing that caught my eye were his eyes. They were bright sky blue. They amazed me through and through.

“Who are you?” The Stranger smiled. His smile was welcoming and walked over and extended his hand towards me.

“My name’s Derek. It’s nice to meet you.”
