C11 You're my true friend

“My name’s Derek, it’s nice to meet you.” Derek said introducing himself. How is his name so…?

“Derek, get away from her. She’s already been marked by our King.” Whispered a voice not too far from where I was standing. Looking all around, no one was here except Derek. Ok what’s going on here?

“It’s nice to meet you as well, my name’s Michael. You can call me Mike though.” I said with an awkward smile. Giving him a handshake, I start sensing Akashore closeby.

“Why do you seem so familiar? like have we met before?”

“No clue.” Derek replied. Hmm…

“Well, well.” A voice growled from behind me. The voice crept over my shoulder and coiled around my neck and caused me not to be able to scream in fear but even in silence, the fear was blasting out from my very soul.

“It’s been years since I have caused fear to creep up onto your shoulder, my Lady.” He said from behind me. If I turn around I’ll be running past the lips of the devil, but if I keep my back facing him, who knows what’ll happen.

“Who are you?” I asked as I closed my eyes shut. The stranger laughed with darkness in his voice.

“Well, since you asked me nicely, I shall introduce mys--” He said but then I heard Dad’s voice.

Opening my eyes, I found myself in bed looking around and all I could see was that I was in a hospital bed and Dad was sitting in a chair right next to me. Dad was quiet and tears caused his cheeks to turn burnt red.

“The Doctor was wrong.” Was all he could say.

“Dad, what’s wrong?” I asked. Dad started crying in silence.

“What’s wrong Dad?” I said in fear.

“You’re dead my dear.” Said a voice. The same voice that I had heard before waking up here. In this hospital room. I got up and out of the bed, turning around and in the end, his words were clear as a diamond. I saw my own dead body.

“No.” I said to myself.

“I’m going to have fun playing with you very mind till I get started on ripping your soul to shreds.” He said. And then he came.

“Run while you still can, you son of a bitch!” Shouted Akashore as I heard footsteps come immediately. The faster and hard it came, the more anger was brought into the equation.

“My King, you know how I respect my Lady!” He screamed with a tint of fear in his voice.

“Mike I’ll be right there, just let me deal with that psychopath.” Said Akashore as his voice got closer. Then silence struck my ears. Looking at the door, I can sense Akashore behind it. Something’s wrong and I can tell by how Akashore got when his Brother, Richard tried saying something that I guess I had any business in knowing. But this feeling is different, the one feeling that I’m picking up; A lust for blood. A loud, blood curdling shriek came out from nowhere. A fist bashed through the door and from the fist to the very elbow had green reptile skin with thorns all over it. The fear wasn’t just the appearance, it was the anger that was growing with the brute force of the attack from crashing through and leaving a hole in the door and finally what this monster is capable of doing.

“Mike.” Was all Akashore could say. He had this feeling of distance, like he didn’t want to be anywhere near me. I can understand, if he’s a monster and is moody, then he has a right to have alone time. Maybe it’s for the best?

“I’ll leave you and the stranger alone. But when you’re ready to let me see you, I’ll be waiting.” I said then looking back at where my dead body and where Dad was sitting, there was just a table, two chairs and a note. Walking over, sitting down and opening it up.

Mike,

I can’t say much right now, but my anger is so bad that I just need space. I don’t want you to see the dark side of me. Please understand.

Love always,

Akashore

Putting the note down, I can tell it was something that I had seen at one point of time. But I can’t pinpoint it. Why is this feeling so familiar? If it were true and it does have something to do with my forgotten past, then how come these memories were taken from me?

“You’ll know in due time, child.” Said a voice. Looking up I see an older woman, maybe in her late eighties and had the aura of a goddess.

“Who are you?” I asked.

“My name is Annie Greenwood, and you my dear are a very lucky one. Akashore never really feels close towards people since they try to control him and his every move. No one really had a close bond with him because they finally saw his darker side with his anger and out of control hostile rage when once pushed to the point of no return. Do not worry about it though, he’s just upset about what his action was in this fight with Tom-” Annie said then stopped at a halt. Tom? My heart stopped beating, Tom...Tom Robinson? that name, it’s scary to just think about. Why am I being stalked by these guys and Tom also? something’s going on and I have every right to know.

“Annie?” I said. Annie smiled and sat down next to me. She took my hand and held it tight, the warmth going right through me. Who is she to me?

“The same child that I’ve loved so much, as cute as a curious kitten. Your Father is always watching you like a guardian angel. Never leave you for even a split second, even your Mother gets worried over your position.” Annie said then became silent again.

“I don’t understand Annie, who are my parents? when will I regain my past memories again?” I asked in distress. Annie smiled and stood up and walked to the door.

“Akashore will help guide you, even though he won’t admit this, I know deep down that he wants you to remember who he really was to you, it’ll come eventually.” Annie said then walked out of the room, leaving me with nothing but several questions.

“I wonder if Akashore’s ok out there.” I said to myself.

“He’s a good kid.” Said Richard. Looking up, he stands there smiling.

“I’ll tell you one thing Mike that you had back then.” He said then walked over and patted me on the head.

“Same good-ha! nope, great looks and every Man that would do anything for you.”

“Great, I’m stuck being stalked by countless men that want good-no I mean great ass if that’s true.” I groan out.

“Richard, leave him alone.” Said Akashore by the door. The both of us looked over and his hands and mouth were stained in blood. Ok now I’m scared. Looking away, I just want to avoid the sight of blood.

“I’m sorry about my appearance. I’ll leave you two alone--” Getting right up I walked up to him and smacked him on the head.

“I hate the sight of blood, not you. Just do me a favor and change out of these clothes and get yourself cleaned up and we can hang out again.” I said in annoyance. Akashore was quiet, but then smiled small.

“Ok I’ll be back.”

As I sat at the table with Richard waiting for Akashore getting cleaned up, I finally broke the ice and brought up what happened in that room before waking up here.

“I met someone before ending up here.”

“Was it Tom?” Richard asked.

“No. He said his name was Derek.” I replied. Richard just sat there then groaned.

“Akashore told him to back off, what a dumbass trying to pull that shit on him. Don’t worry though, did he hurt you?” I shook my head. Richard sighed in relief like he was thinking that something horrifying could’ve happened by his hands.

“Just do me a favor Mike.” Richard said, pulling out a necklace with a ballerina as a pendant. He then placed it on my neck and smiled.

“My Daughter who died years ago had this necklace and before she died, she gave it to me if and when I found a true friend that I want to protect.”

“And you are that true friend.”
