C12 It’s nice to see you again

As Akashore and Richard drove down a dead street with stranded stores and other buildings, I started noticing a few things. Signs that said “Welcome to” and after that were blank.

“Welcome to what?” Richard looked at me and sighed.

“We’re crossing the veil. Most of the area has been in hiding since Akashore’s here. Don’t ask and don’t worry.” Richard said as he then looked at Akashore for a few minutes. Akashore’s eyes darkened, I guess Derek isn’t liked by some people. I wonder why.

“Hey Akashore, who is Derek to you?” I asked. All Akashore did was ignore me. Well I’ll just ask him later.

“He abused you when you still remembered everyone in your home world. That’s all I can say for now.” Akashore said then became silent again.

Looking through the food in the dead grocery store to eat on our way to this unnamed dimension, I start wondering about this Derek guy, wondering how he abused me.

“I’m definitely in the dark on these things.” I said to myself.

“You’re one curious kitten.” Said a voice from behind me. Turning around sharply, I see an older man standing in front of me. He was tall, had pale skin, his eyes were charcoal gray eyes and outfit was classic nineteenth century goth.

“Dear daughter, how will we meet again after all these years? You still have that same innocent look on your face. Never will I forget that about you, even till my very death.” He said.

“My name is Robert Blackwood, you were at one point related to me. I was born as your Father and died as your Father, I have to help you remember the truth in your past. For it is why people are after you to begin with.” Robert said introducing himself.

“I’m assuming both Derek and Tom Robinson are after me?” I asked. Robert nodded and patted the top of my head.

“Don’t worry though, the people that are after you will be defeated and won’t be able to hurt you anymore.” Robert explained as his expression became serious, looking past me and then turning around there wasn’t anyone there. Turning back to Robert was gone.

“Mike, I got some food so let’s go.” Said Akashore.

As we began driving once again, I started eating a small bag of sour cream and onion chips. Looking at Rich, I needed to ask him.

“Hey Rich, who’s Robert Blackwood?” I asked. Rich was quiet then looked at me.

“He’s a relative of yours that has lived for a countless amount of years, he’s the King of the world that you were originally born in.” Explained Rich.

“So I’m assuming…” I said then became quiet.

“Yeah, he’s your biological Father.”

Tired and with nothing to do besides looking out the window.

“Mike, you need sleep. We’ll wake you up when we get to…” Rich was saying but I finally let the darkness overcome my mind and ended up falling asleep.

I opened my eyes, feeling hung over like I just had a bottle of vodka in my system. Looking around, I see myself in an office with that guy Robert who Rich and Akashore said was my blood related Father. He isn’t alone though. A young man, bald and wearing a white T-shirt and denim blue jeans. His eyes were unnatural like they screamed bloody murder to scare people away so they don’t get killed. The young man stood there in front of the desk that Robert sat behind.

“Robert, you said that you would let me marry her!” Robert flashed a glare at him.

“You’re not safe for people to go near Tom, so leave my daughter alone or I will be rid of you, once and for all.” Tom? Why does Tom want to marry me?

“You won’t forget me Robert Blackwood!” Shouted Tom then stormed out of the room. Robert groaned in irritation. As he sat there in silence. Akashore walked in.

“What’s going on with Tom, Robert? Is he still going after her again?” Asked Akashore. Robert just nodded.

“I’m hiring guards to keep an eye on him. You should do the same, since she’s your mate after all.” Robert said.

“Michael!” Screamed our Akashore. All of a sudden, the surrounding areas began to melt and bleed into each other. Opening my eyes once again, I see Rich and Akashore looking down at me.

“Are you alright?” Asked Rich. I groaned out loud as I straightened my back and looked at him.

“I’m fine, but where’s Akas--” I began to ask but something hit the front of the car, causing the front window to shatter into dust. Rich immediately shielded me and began yelling at Akashore.

“What the hell Akashore! fight with Tom away from Mike, not right in front of him!” Rich said, upset. Silence then unfolded and brought the definition of fear into the situation.

“We gotta go now, Mike.” Said Rich then flashed the both of us out of the car.

Opening my eyes, I find myself watching Rich and Akashore fist fighting with each other over what happened before.

“You stupid dick, you had a choice Akashore. You had a fucking choice to how to avoid fighting Tom and you screwed it up!” Rich said yelling at him. Akashore stopped immediately and turned around. For all this time of knowing him, I never saw Akashore cry at all. Sitting up and walking over to him, I wrapped my arms around him and held him.

“I’m not mad, I just want you to control your temper. Please do that for me?” I asked Akashore. Akashore looked down at me.

“I’ll do my best to keep it under wraps. Ok?” Akashore asked. I laughed and nodded.

“Do me one more favor.” I said then looked at Rich and then back at Akashore.

“Please say sorry to Rich, you really upset him before.” I said. Akashore’s eyes widened. Turning around and looking at Rich.

“I’m sorry, I should’ve been better with the fight against Tom. Will you forgive me?” Akashore asked. Rich just nodded.

“Ok, but if you pull that stunt again, you’re not seeing Mike anymore. I don’t want him in any danger. You got that?” Rich asked him. Akashore nodded and left the room, leaving me and Rich alone.

“Rich, are you ok?” I asked. Rich rubbed the back of his head and walked over and sat me down and next to him.

“Aside from the cuts on my back from the pieces of broken glass, that didn’t upset me. But the thought of you being in danger, I never felt anymore scared in my life. That’s something that I rarely feel because I’ve always seen the worst things in life. But when you were about to get hurt by that crashing on the front window of the car, I never for a split second hesitated in shielding you.” Rich explained. Looking into his eyes, I can see that he means it. I patted him on the shoulder and smiled.

“Let’s have each other's backs, Ok?” Rich smiled and held me in his arms.

“Ok.”
