C13 A Gift from the Goddess
“Sweetie.” Said a familiar voice.
“You need to remember who you really are. I’ll always be by your side, I’ll always see you as my best friend. Don’t forget that.” This is different. People that pop up and tell me that I need to remember, but how?
“Mike, are you ok?” Asked Akashore as he waved his hand in front of my face so he could get my attention. I sighed and looked out the car window.
“People keep giving me messages telling me that I need to remember but that’s all they say. I don’t understand that they’re asking something that’s becoming obvious in the here and now.” Akashore looks at me and then back at the dirt road.
“Mike, they’re friends. Some not so much because of their high and disrespectful demands that they threw at you. Don’t worry about it, just ignore their words of pleading when in the end when they say that you’re their best friend, they just don’t give a damn.” Said Akashore who became angered as he tightened his grip on the steering wheel.
“I’m ok Akashore. But just calm down please?” I asked. Akashore then became relaxed and breathed in and out for a moment.
“Sorry, it’s just the people that are forcing you to pick the options that they want you to choose. It's the reason why I originally wanted you to not to remember. But I guess in the end I became something similar to their personality.” Akashore said as he looked further down the dirt road.
“Akashore say that one more time and I’ll smack you and even though it’ll hurt me, you need to not blame yourself. I guess in the end I was being hypocritical as well.” I said as I looked at him. Akashore smiled.
“We’re the hypocritical couple then.” Akashore said, trying to make it positive.
“Not happening.” We both said at the same time.
As we kept driving, all we did was laugh and talk about what our favorite things are and then Akashore pulled and parked his car in front of a log cabin and we got out and walked inside.
Looking around the inside the cabin all I can take in is the smell of freshly made gingerbread cookies.
“Smells good?” Asked Akashore. Mmm…
“Hell yeah.” I moan out from feeling the attraction towards the scent of the gingerbread man.
“Ha, ha! I knew you were cheating with my secret stash of cookies.” Akashore said, winking at me. I just faked a gasp.
“But Akashore, I just couldn’t help myself! They smell so good.” I explained like I was trying to sound innocent, but I had to eat those damn cookies.
“Well Mike, if you stop eating my cookies, I’ll stay with you.” Said Akashore pretending to have this perverted statement as if we were about to do the dirty. Bad words but whatever, Akashore is still my baby. Akashore then coughs into his hand and leads me to a nearby table and we both sit down and get into the conversation that we were in before we got to the cabin.
“Akashore, I’m finally able to do what I--not them but I, choosing to regain my memories that both me and you shared during those moments of time back in the past before I was brought to earth.” I said as I held his hands.
“I know.” Was all Akashore said.
“Believe me Akashore, I feel nothing but love for you. Remember that.” I said. Akashore looked at me and smiled.
“You know what you are to me?” Akashore asked.
“Your boyfriend?” I guessed.
“Not just that and I’m aware that you feel that way too. But this is different Mike, much different.” Akashore then took a long and deep breath as if this confession were to scare me.
“You’re a gift from the Goddess that she sent to me. But I have to tell you something else that I have a feeling you might see me in a different way.” Akashore said with hesitation in his voice.
“You see, I'm not an angel or gods. But I’m seen as the ruler of the realms of the damned army.” Akashore said. Ok…
“You make it sound like what you are is what makes your personality. Angel, demon, god, fairy. I don’t give a damn, I love you Akashore. Now stop with getting timid with the whole explanations on what we were born as from the divine, now my beautiful baby, we must now eat the gingerbread men, they’ll never see it coming!” I said in excitement. Akashore sat there and laughed.
“Alright, I’ll grab the cookies and milk. You just stay there, my Prince.” Akashore said, winking at me as he stood up and went after the men in clothing made from delicious cream cheese frosting.
*******
Both me and Akashore sleeping in bed felt right. We weren’t really interested in anything more than going to sleep after eating several gingerbread men. Actually, I was the one who had more of a share of them than Akashore had. I feel bad but it’s over and done with. Looking at his angelic features, I smiled and I wrapped my arms around him and leaned my chin against his shoulder. Monster, demon, werewolf, whatever he wants to call himself doesn’t matter as long as he treats me right. I love the guy, and I hope to spend my life with him till time stands still and falls off balance and shatters into a dust cloud. That’s all I want in my future, being with Akashore. Then came a knock at the front door. Akashore then jumped out of bed and placed a shield around me.
“I’m putting you into a deep sleep so you don’t see what I’m about to do. Please understand.” Akashore said then I immediately passed out.
“Where am I?” I asked myself as I walked around in the darkness, I feel like I’m ready to end up bumping into something.
“Nancy, wake up.” Someone said as I started feeling like someone was poking me on the shoulder hard.pulling back I walk away from the sounds and voices of the asses that are trying to control me.
“Akashore, you’re not going anywhere near him!” Shouted a girl, who sounds like she’s around my age. Opening my eyes, I found myself alone inside the cabin. Where’s Akashore? and who was that girl that was yelling at him? something’s up. But since he doesn’t want me to see that “Darker” and “Bloodthirsty” personality that he gets when he’s angry, I respect his feelings and I just leave him be when he gets into those emotions. Then something that reminds me of what it would feel like to be in a place during an earthquake came and all I can think is that shit hit the fan. That girl might’ve hit a good thick nerve in Akashore’s skull to cause this feeling to pop open with this feeling of an earthquake.
“Don’t test me Akasha, I’m warning you one last time; Don’t go near my mate!” Growled Akashore. Then a blood spilling shriek came and all I knew was that it was the final straw. The door opened and Rich came in, locked the door and placed his clan’s protection seal on the cabin.
“How bad?” I asked. What a stupid question, but it’ll help me figure out why he’s fighting with that girl Akasha.
“Akasha was once with Akashore and one day she got caught sleeping around on him. So he broke up with her, they couldn’t undo the title that they shared since they’re the first two originals that woke up before me and my clan. But tonight I need to be here with you and Akashore even ordered me to so…” Looking at Rich I nodded and laid back down and passed out again, just hoping that fight get’s over and done with.
“I can’t believe I scared him. Damn it Rich!” Exclaimed Akashore. I immediately opened my eyes from those words as if I was already awake and ready to sucker punch him in the head. Getting out of the bed, I walked over to Akashore. First, I stepped on his foot hard and second, I punched him in the jaw. Akashore looked at me in pain.
“That’s what you get for thinking that I got scared of you.” I said hissing at him.
“Akasha hit a big nerve in your skull, and I don’t expect you--” I tried to say but he stopped me from finishing the last words of what I was going to say.
“Damn it Mike! I’m not normal, I won’t let you sugar coat the truth on me.” He said then sighs.
“She did hit a nerve, and I just snapped. She threatened your life and that’s when.” Akashore said then paused.
“I had her by the throat and in the end she still was able to get away. I feel nothing but hate towards her, not because of when we were together. But because every time I had begun dating someone, she slithers in and does her best at scaring them off. It’s not fair, it’s not.” Akashore said then tears fell and he began to sob. Both me and Rich looked at him and all I did was hold him.
“It’ll be ok Akashore, don’t worry.” I said as Rich and I stood there with him as he cried.
It’s been a week since Akashore had snapped while fighting against Akasha. I’m worried because he’s still depressed over how he sounded from outside when fighting her. Looking at Akashore talking to Rich and smiling, I feel like there’s more to it than it looks. But I guess I could be wrong. Akashore then directed his gray eyes towards me.
“Mike, are you ok?” Asked Rich.
“He read your mind and yeah he’s fine.’ Rich said in telepathy. Looking at Rich then back at Akashore once more, I walked over, placed my hand on his shoulder and kissed him on his forehead. Akashore’s cheeks turned to a faint pink and looked away.
“Mike, I’ll be ok. I promise." Said Akashore who then looked up and smiled.
“Do you want waffles?” Rich asked. I smiled from the one word; “Waffles”.
“Yeah.”
