C14 Love and Trust

Eating the last blueberry waffle from the freezer, I lean back in the chair and stretch my arms.

“Man is this tiring.” I said as me and Rich are waiting for Akashore to get back from dealing with Robert on the war with Tom and the other demons. Rich just sat there and laughed.

“Well it’s called don’t stay up so late. Sleep is needed.” Rich said as he cleaned up his breakfast plate, then took our plates and got started on washing up.

As I watched Rich washing up after this morning’s breakfast, I started feeling something nearby.

“Rich, do you sense what I’m sensing?” I asked. Rich stopped and focused on the dead wind for a few minutes. Then I looked back at the dishes.

“Akashore’s already there, he just covered the energies just now.” Rich answered.

“Yeah. I just feel worried about how he’s been getting so stressed out. I wish I could help him but I don’t have any powers. Rich stopped washing the dishes and went over to me. Kneeling down, he took my hand and smiled.

“I can destroy a building with just one single punch, Akashore can kill someone with just not even one percent of his powers. You may not be able to tap back into your combatting skills like before, but you have one power that no one ever had.” Rich said then smiled.

“And that’s Akashore’s love and pure trust.” Rich said then getting back up and finishing up washing at the sink. As I looked at Rich, the door opened up and I saw Akashore walking in and the both of us looked into each other’s eyes.

“I won’t ask any questions.” I said as Akashore walked over and sat beside me. There’s something else that’s wrong here. Anger and hostility boiling up from within Akashore.

“Rich made breakfast before. Maybe we can make lunch for the three of us?” I asked Akashore. He looked at me and nodded.

“Damn it Akashore, stop getting so distant from your mate! He's already listening to your orders on leaving you alone. Try letting him know your problems, try getting yourself close with him like before. Because I’m starting to feel like you just wanted a joy ride.” Said Rich as he glared at Akashore. Akashore sat there and then took my hand.

“Mike, I’m sorry.” Akashore said, then kissed me and smiled.

“I’m not trying to avoid you, I’ve just been trying to avoid Akasha. As I said before, we were together at one point and when I broke up with her, things just became depressing. Not because of me breaking up with her, but because I had lost trust towards Akasha and everyone I knew and felt close as well.” Akashore explained then became quiet.

“You know what I think?” I asked him.

“No.” Akashore said. Looking at him, I smiled.

“There’s nothing to forgive, I love you and I just want what’s best for you.” I said. Akashore just looked away.

“Akashore, look at me.” Said Rich. Akashore then looked over at Rich.

“You’re so scared that Akasha’s trying to get back into your pants again, you might as well go back to her since you’re focusing so much on her that much. Mike needs you and he may not admit it, but I know that he’s feeling insecure about this. Right? And don’t lie, I know what you’re going through. I’ve been through it myself.” Rich explained.

“Akashore, Rich’s right. I just feel like because of how you two know each other and were together for all of that time, I just don’t know how to overcome my insecurity.” I said as I looked away.

“Mike, I’m not going back to her. I promise.” Akashore said. Looking down at my hands, I just feel he’s right. I have no reason to not trust him. I just need to understand our feelings for each other.

Yesterday was stressing me out and even up until today. As I was watching Rich working making breakfast I started thinking “Maybe I should go back and think about it.” But I’m not even going to start with what happened yesterday. But I will.

“Hey Rich, where’s Akashore?” I asked. Looking at Rich, he just groaned.

“A relative of yours called him so he had to take care of things.” Rich answered.

“You know my Sister is not the head of our family!” Yelled out some girl. Then opens and Akashore just storms in, the expression just alone you can say “May the power of Christ compel you!” Since he had demon anger pouring out of him.

“Akashore, she’s no leader and I don’t give a shit about what her blood does, she isn’t the oldest daughter of the Greenwood family.” She said Akashore stopped and looked straight into her eyes.

“Watch yourself Lillian, because I’m all ready to kill you.” Warned Akashore. Lillian then walked up and smacked him on the face.

“I’m your Queen, don’t tell me what to do.” Ok now I’m pissed. I stood up and walked over to her. Grabbing her by the shirt and then looking at her.

“You better watch yourself or you’ll have to hide behind Akashore so I won’t be able to rip you into pieces.” I said. Lillian then smiled.

“Try it, let’s see-” I finally snapped. Punching her in the face and sending her across and seeing her against the front door. She looked at me in fear.

“Let’s try it again.” I said hissing at Lillian. Lillian then stood up and opened the door. Turning around, she looked at both me and Akashore.

“Your mate is one clear diamond psychopath. Remember me Sister, remember that I’ll never let you back into my home.” Lillian said then left. Turning around and looking at Akashore.

“Yeah, I knew he was going to lose it with Lillian. Right?” Said Rich. Looking at Rich then back at me.

“Mike.” Said Akashore, then pulled me close and held me tight.

“Thanks for defending me.”

“Mike, are you ok?” Asked Akashore. Rich looked at me worried as he stood by the toaster and was waiting for the waffles to get done.

“Yeah, I’m just still irritated is all.” I replied. Then hearing the toaster popped up and Rich taking the baffles out.

“Butter?” Asked Rich. I shook my head.

“Just plain.” I answered. Akashore knows how I feel about what happened yesterday. I just need time to understand my emotions and how to pick and choose my battles.

“I’ll help you with your emotional issues from yesterday. Lillian’s just mad that you awakened as the only pure blood of your family, don’t care about what Lillian’s trying to do to you. I’ll be here to help by being here for you. I promise.” Akashore said, smiling as he took my hand. I need therapy for this b.s.

As the three of us were eating tricolored pasta with just a bit of butter in it for lunch, Rich’s phone started ringing. He pulled it out from his pocket and answered.

“Hey.” Said Rich then had a horrifying look on his face.

“You made sure that he was put into a prison, right?” He asked. Is he talking about Tom?

“Ok, well put guards over there and make sure he can’t use his abilities as the corpse King to escape. I’ll talk to you later.” Looking at Akashore, then looked at me.

“How bad?” Asked Akashore.

“Not too bad, but Bridget prevented what could’ve been the worst.” Answered Rich.

“I’m assuming it was Tom? And who’s Bridget?” I asked, feeling confused. The two of them looked at me and groaned.

“Yeah, and Bridget is his oldest Sister, there’s more to know about Tom than meets the eye. You’ll remember who he was to you in due time.” Explained Akashore.
