Gabriel gave a wave and turned to go. Before I fell to the ground, I waited for the front door to close. Underneath me, the carpet felt cosy and warm. I sat down on it, my cheek against the fabric, and looked up at the ceiling.

And then, what would I do?

Right behind me was the bathroom, so I sighed and got to my feet
