C19 Barbecue 2

"Thank you, really, I appreciate it," Qianqian said with a bright smile, nodding at Shaowen.

In response, Shaowen gave a resigned smile, his lips curling slightly as he sat at the small stand and ordered a few bottles of beer from the owner.

"Do you want it cold or room temperature?" Shaowen asked, holding up a beer towards Qianqian.

Hearing this, Qianqian was momentarily stunned, looking at him with pleasant surprise.

No way! The esteemed Director Shaowen of XS Group, actually sitting here having a beer?

"Cold," Qianqian quickly replied, sitting down with a radiant smile.

Wow, she couldn't remember the last time she felt this relaxed. Being with Shaowen was incredibly refreshing and comfortable!

Soon, skewers of barbecue were brought to their table. Qianqian started with a skewer of grilled chives, then moved on to eggplant and green beans.

"Do you know the nickname for enoki mushrooms?" Shaowen asked, looking up with an amused expression.

"See you tomorrow?" Qianqian burst into laughter at his response.

Oh my, Shaowen was simply... perfect!

"Isn't this conversation a bit out of place?" Qianqian said awkwardly, raising her disposable cup towards Shaowen.

Look at that, a cup for ordinary folks! And then there's the fancy cup in her bag, the one Yechen always used. Qianqian couldn't help but feel that a simple disposable cup suited her best. The exclusive stuff just wasn't her style!

"As long as you're happy. I just didn't expect a PhD graduate from X School to know so much internet slang. You must have a very colorful personal life," Shaowen said, raising his cup. His drinking was hearty yet retained a touch of elegance.

Shaowen sitting there was like an angel fallen to earth!

A group of young girls passing by couldn't resist snapping photos of Shaowen.

"Personal life? Are you trying to mock me?" Qianqian chuckled softly, her eyes full of mischief.

Curious about the girls taking pictures, Qianqian glanced at Shaowen, wondering if he would stop them or let them continue.

"Excuse me, I'm not an exhibit in a zoo. No photos, please. Thank you," Shaowen turned and said with a smile. The girls blushed with embarrassment and instinctively glanced at Qianqian beside him.

Feeling the weight of their stares, Qianqian felt goosebumps rising all over her body. It was clearly his issue, so why was everyone looking at her?

"She's so pretty."

"Yeah, just like a celebrity on TV."

"No wonder she's with such a handsome guy. Next time I go to a plastic surgeon, I'm asking for her face."

"I wish I had a boyfriend that handsome."

Hearing these comments, Qianqian felt an urge to bang her head against a wall. These kids were getting more and more outrageous. How did she suddenly become Shaowen's girlfriend? Complimenting her looks was fine, since it was true, but why would anyone want to change their face to look like hers? No one would be happy hearing that.

"Didn't expect you'd become an internet sensation so quickly. Not bad, you've got potential," Shaowen teased, noticing Qianqian's face turning redder, which he found amusing. It was probably the second time he'd seen her blush.

Watching her adorable expression, Shaowen felt a flutter of unease in his heart. If possible, he wanted to keep looking at her like this.

Almost instinctively, Shaowen took out his phone and snapped a picture of Qianqian's shy face.

The flash instantly caught Qianqian's attention. She frowned and shot Shaowen an annoyed look, snapping, "What are you doing?"

Was he really taking candid shots of her? Did she look amusing or unusual just now?

"I'm about to leave. Can't I have a photo to remember you by?" Shaowen grinned, his bright smile and gleaming white teeth making Qianqian swallow her irritation.

He really is something... Shaowen is the kind of person you want to be mad at but just can't. You simply can't find a reason to be angry with him.

"Since you took my picture, shouldn't I get one of you too?" Qianqian pulled out her phone and snapped a shot of Shaowen's face.

Surprisingly, instead of dodging, Shaowen struck an adorable yet undeniably handsome pose for her. His goofy peace sign didn't detract from his charm; it added a touch of cuteness.

Looking at the photo on her phone, Qianqian couldn't help but burst into laughter. If she sold this picture at the office, she'd make a fortune! Who would have thought that the esteemed Director of the XS Group could have such an endearing side?
