C2 Chapter 1

Sunshine cascaded through the canopy of the thick green forest as I paced back and forth restlessly in my family’s den, gazing at the setting sun, and when it rose, a new beginning would rise for me also, this transformation had come with both fear and embrace. I belonged to the Moonrise pack and I grew up there all my life, all the members of the pack showered me with love and I always felt fulfilled. And I was about to leave my dear mother, my father, and my pack members who I always saw as my family. I felt like leaving the pack alone for her father was too much to handle, even though deep down I knew he would do perfectly fine, but what about Mum, I knew she would miss me so much.

My thoughts drifted to Javiel, the thought of our union, by the next moonrise filled my heart with anticipation, I could not wait to be bonded to Javiel for the rest of my life, as I had been looking forward to it from the day we both identified each other as our mates, which caused me to be impatient, when I remebered the event that just took place with Javiel, I visibly blushed. After all the feeling of extacy had left my body, I was only left with worry, now I was scared about what was to happen after me and Javiel’s mating ceremony. I was thankful that Javiel did not mark me when I begged for it, it would have brought a lot of trouble for sure.

I had known Javiel since we were young due to the strong relations of our pack, Javiel’s father always brought Javiel over to visit. And ever since I was young I took a liking to Javiel, and I always followed him around even though he did not give me one ounce of attention, and seemed so annoyed by my presence. Javiel was what people will call cold and strong, he showed no emotions, but he was not always like that, he just lost his smile ever since his mother Luna Capri passed away from an unknown illness. With Javiel’s cold personality, I still stubbornly followed hoping that one-day Javiel will take me as a friend and give me an ounce of his attention. As time went by, Javiel gradually stopped acting annoyed at my presence and even secretly cared for me. And when I and Javiel identified each other as our mates, I was over the moon, and even though Javiel did not show it, I knew he was satisfied.

As the moon's first rays began to peek through the trees, Javiel entered the den, his footsteps barely audible against the soft grass. His dark hair cascaded over his forehead, and him with his cold face trying to ring up an awkward smile to ease my heart made me smile, I was again remembered the passionate event that just took place which caused me to blush. At the sight of Javiel, I ran into his arms to which he just hung up awkwardly, not knowing what to do, after some time, he slowly pried off her arms from his waist which caused my smile to dim a little, ‘why is he acting like he did not just have sex with me’ I thoughy, I will never stop trying to win over Javiel completely, I longed for the day where he would willingly tell me how much he loved me.

“ You seem restless,” Javiel said with a void which seemed devoid of emotion but I knew he cared.

I hugged him again, ignoring the slight displeasure on his face and leaned against him, my head resting on his chest. “ I am, Javiel, I fear I won't be able to see my family as often as before, I fear we will grow apart and my pack will forget me. Who is going to help Dad run things around here, what about Mum, she is going to miss me a lot” She said, he voice reaching a lower tone filled with sadness with every word she spoke “

Hearing this, Javiel raised up his thick calloused hands and patted my head “ You will do fine, Ifrenia .” His simple words resonated within me, providing me with the strength I needed to confront my fears. I then lifted her head, My eyes meeting Javiels gaze.

“Thank you Javiel I couldn't ask for a better mate, your unwavering support means everything to me “

Javiel nodded breaking into a barely noticeable smile, his fingers intertwining with mine. “ I will always support you, and we will become stronger together.”When I saw Javiel’s smile, a million little butterflies broke loose in my stomach.

I nodded, with my mind now at ease, I could not wait for me and Javiel’s mating ceremony, I started imagining how the entire process will go, how I will adapt to his pack and my future plans, I would even join his pack warriors, and fight alongside with them, to keep the pack safe. With that in mind, I was not so nervous anymore, at least I have Javiel by my side.

“ Why don’t we go for one last run before you and Javiel’s mating ceremony, Ifrenia” Dad said as he suddenly entered the den which gave me a little shock, when will Dad ever learn to stop sneaking up on people?

This caused me to smile.”Sure, that will be great, but let us make this a bet”

“Not again Frenia” Dad rolled his eyes at me.

“Yes Dad, at least we have to make the run more fun before I leave” I said trying to convince him.

“Ok bet on what darling?”

“ The first person to reach Prime Cristal fee will win, and the rest will have to pay a hundred bucks each,” I said with a mischievous smile.

“ That’s not fair darling” Dad said, and it was the truth, it was no secrete that I was blessed by the moon goddess with extreme speed, I was even faster than Dad, but not stronger though.

“Dad come on, I am leaving tomorrow” I begged, I wanted to exploit my parents and pack members one last time before I join my new pack.

“ Ok honey,” Dad said as she ruffled my hair which caused me to pout in anger.
