The Sealed Secret

Yetunde was born 48years ago. A first-class university graduate. Her father, a professionally trained grade two- teacher died seven years after she was born at Ikire town in Osun State of Nigeria.

Yetunde was an easy going lady thirsty to make airing success of her life by the grace of God. She was a goodly child and exceptionally innocent daughter with an incredibly stumpy background.

As a determined citizen, Yetunde was head strong to become an educated person who can be well respected and trusted in the society. She desired to stand out as a daughter of destiny in life and make a difference in her world!

Left with a single mother that catered for her welfare and good ruptured throughout the secondary school that she attended as a promising offspring. She naturally had raw tongue and an attractive feminine physique.

A fine girl and thoroughly bred. She was the joy of her charming mother who watched over her like an eagle on the mountain top!

Naturally, she grew up to be loving, brave, diligent, amiable, elegant, dependable and intelligent and of good breeding among her peers.

Unfortunately, the mother of Yetunde had a terrible motor accident along the line that claimed her life at a prime age like the husband. The sad event occurred when the mother was returning from one of her business trip.

The public transport bus she travelled with had an accident at Asejire town near Ibadan city a few days to the end of the year. A tanker vehicle loaded with engine oil tumbled making oil split over-flowed and spread on the road. As a result, everywhere was very slippery for motors.

Suddenly, the bus where Yetunde’s mother was inside ran into the slippery spot unknowingly, the driver failed to be courteous, swap and hit a parked trailer by the road side on top speed.

Instantly, six people out of the sixteen passengers inside the bus died on the spot without any remedy. The rest were severally injured and taken to University Teaching Hospital [UCH] in Ibadan for treatments. The mother of Yetunde was one of the victims that died in the unfortunate mishap.

The untimely dead of the woman was a terrible loss that created a great vacuum in the community and the trade associations where Yetunde’s mother was an active frontline member and activist.

It was pathetic and painful! The families and relatives of Yetunde were in deep sorrow and mourning for their departed soul during the Christmas and New Year! They consoled themselves for the demised relative and accepted their Cross in good fate as a Christian.

As life would have it, Yetunde became an orphan like Esther in the Holy Bible. Yetunde expressed the grief of her parent’s death but never again sensed any sad days ahead.

She was without father or mother! However, she was not deserted nor lack maternal care in life.

Honestly, children who are deprived of love and parental care grow up to become maladjusted adults in the society. Yetunde was taken over by her mother’s immediate junior sister as the guardian.

An Ibadan based bulk food vendor at Bodija Market. The woman arose and took the responsibility of Yetunde’s schooling and welfare painstakingly until she got married. The Good Samaritan woman was absolutely inspiring and worthy of appreciation and reward. Only a few could be that nice in our society these days.

The guiltless girl Yetunde enjoyed nicely well a good parenting from her mother‘s junior sister who trained her from infantry. And interestingly, a popular adage says:

‘’Before a parent could proudly say that this is my child, such must have been seriously and dedicatedly taken good care off’’

Nothing can stop the lion from roaming the forest at anytime. Yetunde was able to continue her existence journey of destiny pleasantly.

Really, it may take a longer time, the stammered will pronounce ‘’father!’’

No matter the delay, sun will rise at the break of the day. Nobody can change the destiny; they can only hold the hands of clock.

Meanwhile, the families of her late father were scrupulously supportive as well. The godly Yetunde was never forsaken or abandoned. She equally enjoyed some foundling from time to time.

They planned and prayed that she should survive and enjoy a live of good and perfect health, progress and prosperity!

As a promising child, Yetunde kept flashing back at the final word told by her mother before she died:

‘’Chastity does not belong to the past. It saves you a lot of trouble; preserves your beautiful destiny and stands you out from the crowd. You are better off not engaging in pre-marital and extra-marital sex. Stay chaste!’’

Equally, the spirit of her late mother was following her in existence.

Along the line, Yetunde got admission into one of the famous universities in Kwara state. An awesome way to kick-start and create the blue-print for the life journey of meaningful progress in the society as daughter of destiny from Ekiti.

She was very brilliant and highly determined to have headway educationally with the guarantee of super-successful and victorious life as a woman.

Early enough, Yetunde as a diligent girl puts her very best into what she does and pays rapt attention to details to achieve desired perfection.

She aimed and aspires to earn first-class degree at the end of her studies. Therefore, she faced her studies squarely as a well behaved single in the society; highly equipped with culture and native wisdom. She endured the hardship of virtue!

Despite her background, you would rarely find Yetunde with a frown or experiencing a bad day; the likelihood of such occurrences was extremely low. Instead, she always carried a gentle smile and excluded happiness and joy.

Emphatically, the secret behind this constant joy was the influence of God’s Word in Yetunde’s heart and expressed through his words; it shaped and directed her life each blessed day. She was independent of her circumstances as an orphan.

The godly Yetunde always admonish people around to be cheerful and exuberant with joy and praise to God, knowing better that it takes a joyful and happy person to make others joyful and happy. Since laughter is an expression of joy. Praising God;-being jubilant and enthusiastic with praise are good tonic for good living.

The beautiful and lovely young girl Yetunde used to spend the holidays with her mother’s sister in Ibadan and the family of her late father at Ikole-Ekiti interchangeably.

She usually enjoyed her stay as a favoured girl all the time. She was a highly cherished girl both at home or in the school. People usually show her deeper-love and affections anywhere she finds herself in the public!

Lady Yetunde was a friendly person and always smiles at everyone and say hello anyway. She was cultured and courteous. Equally, she was well and properly weaned in the depth of royalty and the cryptic language of the Yoruba culture.

Meanwhile, there was a fresh young man known as Segun, the bonfire son of the landlord where they lived at Agbowo area not far from the Premier University of Ibadan.

The young lad was made in the image and likeness of his Ibadan billionaire father- One of the Sons of the Soil!

Segun was tanned and handsome to taste with wavy, raven hair. His eyes are like live doves beside the water brooks, deep and quiet. The impression of a meticulously well-fed breed from a glowing family reflected on the body structure. His checks are like sweaty scented beds of spices. Segun’s mouth is sweet, loveable in every way. He behaved at times as The King of Boys in Agbowo area. He was also the Youth Leader for the reigning political party in town.

Really, every genuine man with good sense of appreciation and authentic value would recognise the excellence and elegance of Yetunde’s being and body build-up. She was a rare fine-looking girl to behold and appreciate at any time of the day. She was lovely young lady who was extremely personable and intelligent.

The ray of her beauty kept shinning and inviting like the morning star! She was a Paragon of Beauty in dark complexion! An African pride to cherish and appreciate! In beauty, Yetunde is second to none!

The young boy Segun was promising lad of the former Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. He was a prominent man in the society. He was a rich politician of note from Ibadan, the largest city in West Africa.

Segun was keenly interested in pretty Yetunde, an angel in human skin. He admires her too much and desperately ready to offer anything in exchange. He adores and showed love to her through many contacts that failed outright.

Segun methodically had surveillance of Yetunde. He thought Yetunde would be so cheap girl to lured and captured like a piece of cake, literally. But unfortunately, Yetunde proved otherwise which gave Segun a tough time and bitter experience in the process.

Though Segun was not too bad looking but naturally, Yetunde’s heart was not just disposed to him. The handsome Segun was being truthful as regards wanting to have Yetunde as a date.

In the grip of a youthful crush, Yetunde was the right person for him as dreamt. The strong desire in Segun to have Yetunde as lover began from the day they met at the gate entrance when he went out to a restaurant on a very cold harmattan morning. He noticed a lady of unusual beauty with deep humility.

Segun still in the bloom of youth could not believe what he saw when they gazed each other. It was like everything in the world stood still as her alluring look was breathtaking. He had a crush for her.

He took Yetunde for an angel in human skin when she splashed him with sparking smiles that sent Segun to the world of hallucination just like a movie about Nick Canon.

Yetunde, the beautiful daughter from Ekiti town was appalling to him. Segun saw in her all the perfect traits of a potential marriage mate which are good-looking, friendly, popular, funny, spiritually minded, trustworthy, morally upright and goal-oriented.

He desperately desired in his mind to hook Yetunde as a lifelong mate in holy wedlock. On seeing her; Segun voiced out to himself: ‘’ This is the right person for me!’’

On that daytime, he had the strong intuition that they both have combined missions to fulfil in the journey of life and destiny. Segun have met someone who will bring out the best in him and for whom he will do the same in return.

The young and dynamic Segun walked unto her and started wooing her. But Yetunde responded with a bump off! She went her way facing the other side. She ignored the broad daylight toasting of the love seeker.

The lad of Ibadan guru politician said to her, ‘’Oh my God, you’re so beautiful’’

And she replied by saying: ‘’Thank you!’’

Yetunde smiled quietly with a sense of accomplishment, but nodded her head in disapproval to the love-rapport advancement of Segun. Quickly, she increased her walk-speed rate from the spot. Yetunde’s sharp reaction and body language was informing Segun: ‘’No Vacancy for Now!’’

It stirs and poured cold water to the mind of Segun, the lover Playboy.

Ever since that very day, thoughts of Yetunde; the cutest girl in the neighbourhood that fits for a lifelong helpmate kept lingering in his mind daily to the extent that he cannot think of anybody else except her. Nothing interests him any longer. In fact, nothing seems to matter to him again. He was desperate in need of the Ekiti girl.

However, it is usually a painful experience for a man to have love and affection for someone who never thought of you or look at your direction for a second. He who wears a shoe knows where it pinches!

If there was anything in the universe cherished most by Segun at that moment. It is Yetunde and Yetunde’s zealous love alone. He was trying to woo her with so many things that never worked. It was unplayable, serious and terrible experience! What will be the likely way out?

Regardless how intense the challenges or pressures became, the advances were aborted outright. Yetunde absolutely refused to give Segun the chance of love relationship as demanded. She remained steadfast and unshakable. Her eyes were blindly closed against Segun’s direction with deaf ear to all the whisperings!

The perception was that, Yetunde felt was not yet period for love making affairs and all those stuffs. Also, she considered it to be odd for her to get engaged with a man that lived in the same house where her relative was living for a long time as tenant.

That is to say, Yetunde was trying to be extra careful of men who are found of cheating ladies. She detests the way some of her friends at the campus have been wounded emotionally by their dates.

‘’ I don’t want to join the association of wounded hearts’’-confessed Yetunde in one of her conversations.

Caution is required for the monkey trying to climb a rotten tree!

Yetunde refused bluntly all the demands and love advances of Segun. She avoids him thereafter. Wanting to remain a sane in the midst of the maddening crowd required a serious determination on her part.

Until that crucial time, the pretty Yetunde have never been committed to any guy but Segun remained adamant for her love and acceptance as the boy friend.

Despite, the young Segun was resolutely undaunted. He loved sweet Yetunde so much and frantically wanted to have her by all mean possible.

Throughout that period, the popular love song waxed by King Sunny Ade:

‘’ I’m searching for my Love…Am looking for My Beauty!...Oh Yes, Mama...She is Far Away!’’

- was the most common song that Segun sang about tirelessly. He almost got mad and absent minded because of Yetunde.

With the heart of stone, Segun conceptualized how to trap the lady. Getting flustered was not his style. It is his nature to triumph. He was bent at having his way into the hearts of Yetunde at all cost. He was desperately ready to exchange that mission with whatever it entails or required without looking back.

The desire for the pretty girl was the sole trouble in the life of Segun at that moment in time. It was like: the dilemma of father Mukailu of the Catholic Church in those days.

As Segun thought of what to do that would endear her to him; then an idea struck his mind.

Surprisingly, the cute Yetunde came home for the holidays as usual after the second semester break at the University.

At mid-night, her handset phone rang. It was the adamant lover boy Segun again lamenting and explaining bitterly how he murdered sleep because of his affections and deeper uncompromised love for Yetunde.

At the climax of the conversation, he confessed his readiness to commit suicide that night if Yetunde should refused to accept his love desire for her as girl friend. What an amazing statement!

‘’Abba! Don’t do that…Are you that so serious and desperate about me?’’

Yetunde answered during the phone conversation; she gave it a second thought and implored Segun to hold on till the daybreak for ratification. She consented to meet him for one on one deliberation thereafter:

‘’Never mind, when is dawn we shall discussed better…Dear!’’ Yetunde assured Segun who endured it.

Really, the nice-looking Yetunde was vivacious and blessed with tempting curves and uncommon good looks. Like a perfectly finished product, that everyone loves to pick in the midst of scrambles. All men would desire to gaze her beauty like The Queen Vashti of the Holy Bible.

Undoubtedly, beautiful Yetunde was superbly created among the ladies living in Ibadan at that time! No one could deny her to be the most beautiful girl around!

Men and boys of substance usually gave her a second look whenever she was passing by along the streets of Agbowo. They wanted to confirm if she was a human being or a spirit-being.

Finally, on the following day, Yetunde was invited by the son of ace-politician as a special guest to his father’s luxurious apartment named: The Land of Desire. There was a separate self contained room for Segun within the duplex.

The building design was one of the best ever in the entire community. The finishing and facilities available were lavishly installed everywhere possible. The parents have abundant blessings. They were superbly rich. The fabulous wealth of the family reflected in the residential mansion.

On that day, both Segun and Yetunde had ample chance to parley and engaged in lengthy discussions. The parents have left for business. The room for proper heart-to-heart deliberations was freely created and nothing to hide or shy about. The pleasant day was a good opportunity for him to start something with Yetunde.

Frankly speaking, fragrant Segun was anxious and highly excited to get hooked with an angel in human skin who could be given or tagged as: the Paragon of Beauty among the blacks.

And surely enough! Aside her impeccable beauty, one other feature that sent the heart painting was her well-carved hips. No normal man would get the eyes off, most especially when she swung them.

Segun had heavy feelings for pretty Yetunde that he could not wait any longer. He became so uneasy. He felt overwhelmed and puzzled. His heart skipped whenever he saw Yetunde or heard her sonorous voice.

He was happy that God answered his prayers. Equally, Segun was glad to have the desire of his mind fulfilled at last. Getting hooked to Yetunde appeared to be a divine arrangement that was difficult to understand ordinarily.

Quickly and gracefully, He welcomes his love with a promise of good times together. His energetic movements were highly lighted by the sparkle of immense diamonds in his rings and tie tack.

On that beautiful day, Yetunde was full of smiles as usual. Her eyes were full of God’s Light as she searches for acceptance. She was destined for greatness!

Segun confessed this to Yetunde:

‘’There is something strange about you that I am yet to find answers to. I have met countless ladies in my romantic expedition, but I have never met one that touched my heart the way you did’’

Firstly, Yetunde felt he was weirdo because no one talks like that in the past to her.

However, the young lad needed wisdom to handle the task before him. He reminded himself what he read about wisdom:

‘’Right from old, wisdom is better than darkness. To be rich is far better than poverty. The wise man sees, while the fool is blind’’

Paradoxically, Yetunde was a green horn in relationship matters. Segun was gentle as dove but clever as a serpent; full of guile and highly evasive.

The game started meticulously in harness. On that notable day, the adorable Yetunde in craziest and sexiest fashion wore a tight fitting t-shirt and shorts which exaggerated her busts and the rumps that allured Segun so much. She was utterly outrageous! Her beauty was not hidden at all, but well pronounced.

In life, no one under the close watch of traitor is ever difficult to trap. The heart–throb Segun was ardent and very delighted to see a hatched plan unfolding like a video show.

As a boy hungry for love making most especially in search of a ripped apple, lot of thoughts went across the mind of Segun inside the apartment with his prey Yetunde. For the girl to have voluntarily came for a visit made the task half solved.

Before yam could be eaten as pounded-yam; it was pounded well inside mortal with heavy pestle several times.

Likewise, to be in relationship with surf like Yetunde, a lot of virtues must be well displayed.

Segun was not sort of anything needed to make the best of the game at stake. Everything went smooth in his favour as ordained by destiny like The Gigolo Story. He did all a youngster could do to convinced Yetunde of being the right choice that perfectly matches the life journey of romantic relationship.

The sweet Yetunde had a heart of gold. From her closed assessment, Segun could be a nice life partner and a man of her dreams as well. After a vigorous and very lengthy exchange of syrupy expressions, Yetunde scudded to Segun’s request of love partnership. The deal was sealed and settled eventually! The winning goal was scored!

The beautiful bride-to-be bowed for her man in fresh love affairs. They happily embraced each other affectionately. Segun was very pleased that his persistent effort in winning the heart of Yetunde was not futile but worked out positively well.
