C7 Suspicious Phone Part 2

I didn't lose my mind even though Rafael had closed access meetings that I could use to find all his lies. I quickly leave the room while Rafael and Rory haven't returned.

Lucy is my main goal now. I approached her without a word, making Lucy flinch in surprise because of my sudden presence.

"Oh, Mrs, what's wrong?" she asked, still surprised. I just smiled, feeling a little guilty for her.

"Lucy, can I ask for help or not?"

"Of course, Mrs, what can I help you with?" she said excitedly. I smiled back at her.

"Can you please send a list of all employees in this office to my email address?"

Lucy frowned, perhaps surprised by my request. But it's very important to me. I suspect that the owner of the initials, ZK, works in this office.

"Just send a list of names, you don't need a complete identity," I added.

"If I may know for what, Mrs?" she asked, looking suspicious.

"I have important business. Can you help me?"

Lucy was silent for a moment. Doubt was very clear on her face.

"Come on, Lucy, it's just a list of names I asked for, not their full identities. Can you help me? Please." I said, trying to put on a face as pitiful as possible.

Maybe because she was uncomfortable rejecting her superior's wife's request, she finally nodded in agreement, making me smile broadly.

"What are you doing here?"

I gasped, utterly shocked. MY EYES WIDENED when I turned my neck and found Rafael standing not far from me while holding Rory on his lap. I sighed, trying to keep my expression as calm as possible. He couldn't have heard our conversation earlier because I spoke as quietly as possible.

"Chat with Lucy. It's been a long time since we didn't meet. Right, Lucy?"

"Yes, Mrs," Lucy answered. I was grateful because my husband's secretary could be worked with.

"Have you finished going to the toilet?" I tried to divert the conversation.

"OK, let's go inside again." Invited, I let Rafael step in first.

"Lucy, please keep my request a secret from my husband, OK? I believe in you. And I'm waiting for the shipment."

"OK, Mrs."

I tapped Lucy's shoulder gently before following my husband into his room.

Rafael invited us to lunch at noon at a fast-food restaurant near his office.

Rory was overjoyed. It's been long since we took him out to eat like this. He ordered burgers, French Fries, and ice cream with gusto. His voice was so loud as he asked his father to buy everything he ordered. I winced at that. Next time, I should take my son out to eat more often if I see him as happy as he is now.

Not long after, Rafael returned with a tray full of food that would be our lunch menu this time. I smiled broadly, seeing my favorite spaghetti served tantalizingly before my eyes. Without bothering to mention what food I want to order, Rafael always knows what my favorite food is.

"The ice cream is delicious. Daddy, I'll order another one later, OK?" Asked Rory spoiled. Rafael and I looked at each other, exasperated by the behavior of our only son.

"Don't eat too much ice cream, you'll get a toothache."

I forbade him, and Rory immediately frowned with displeasure. He sulks and whines, asking for defense from his father, who always spoils him.

"OK, Daddy will buy one more later. But just one, don't have too many." Rory cheered joyfully to find his wish granted by his father, in contrast to my reaction, which was glaring at Rafael.

"It's OK honey, just two. I promise I won't buy him too much ice cream." He said, realizing my annoyance.

I snorted, choosing to busy myself with my spaghetti instead of serving those two stubborn people. Still, I would lose if the father and son pair were compact like this.

"Daddy, Daddy, I want to play at Disneyland Park now. Can I?" Rory asked for something else.

Rafael turned to me as if his eyes indicated he asked for my help to persuade Rory.

I rolled my eyes, bored. I let him convince Rory himself. Rory, who is sulking, will indeed be very stubborn. Once in a while, I let Rafael get a feel for how stubborn his son is because I usually take on him.

So I kept silent, pretended to be busy with my food, and pretended not to hear their conversation.

"Already, Daddy's still working, honey," Rafael said, trying to persuade.

"Just go home." And just like I thought, Rory is a smart kid who always knows how to confuse his parents with all his wishes.

"Daddy's coming home tonight. The Disneyland Park will close soon."

"Says who? How come my friend goes there at night, he says it's not closed yet."

I chuckled at my son's witty answer. So what will Rafael say to persuade his son? I'm starting to get curious now.

"But it's not good if we go there at night, you won't be free to play because it doesn't take long for us to enter the Disneyland Park is about to close."

"But I want to play there. My friend said it was fun."

"Yes, it's Sunday. Let's go there."

Rory smiled so happily that a row of teeth was visible.

"Promise, Dad, don't lie." He said. He stretched out his pinky finger, to which Rafael immediately replied. Their pinkies were intertwined, and I snorted again at the sight.

"Mommy also come," Rory asked me.

"Of course, dear, later Mommy will also definitely come."

"Hooray!" he said excitedly, incredible. Rafael and I shook our heads at him.

"You promised Rory. Don't worry, you're lying." I said I pointed at Rafael with the fork I was holding.

"When have I ever lied? Never right? Don't worry, I'll keep my promise. It's been a while since the three of us went out for a walk, right?"

I rolled my eyes lazily, unsure of what he was saying. Never lie, he said. I don't know why; I really can't believe it.

Rafael's cell phone vibrated not long ago, and the screen lit up brightly. There was an incoming call. I don't know anyone. I only realized that Rafael looked surprised when he saw the number on the cellphone screen.

He had the cell phone that was lying on the table, and he quickly took it.

"I'll pick up the phone first."

He just walked away before I could raise my voice to respond.

As soon as he stepped away from our table, I saw him rushing to pick up the phone. And I swear his face looks so happy when he's talking on the phone with someone who, even from a distance, I can see his pleased expression.
