C114 Emergency Board Meeting

"What? You want to kick out Director Lin?" Lee Pu's eyes bulged in disbelief.

The young master's mother-in-law really knew how to throw a tantrum, didn't she? And now she wanted to get rid of the young master himself?

What right did she have? Didn't she realize that everything belonged to the young master?

"Why are you so surprised? Can't I dismiss that loser?" Lu Yahui scoffed.

"My daughter has just been promoted to Vice Chairman of the company, and she's a permanent member of the Board of Directors, the foremost authority in the East Sea jewelry industry! Just one piece of her jewelry design is worth millions!" Lu Yahui boasted, "With Lin Yin's pathetic demeanor, how could he ever be worthy of my daughter? He's not even fit to carry her shoes!"

"Mom, why do you keep bringing this up?" Zhang Qimo descended the stairs, visibly distressed. "Lin Yin has been a great help to me as my assistant, and he's been performing exceptionally well at the company."

Lu Yahui glanced at Zhang Qimo and replied with impatience, "Oh, daughter, Lin Yin is just good at sweet-talking women. And now you're defending him? Are you aware of his ambiguous relationship with Wang Hongling? He claims he's on a business trip, but for all we know, he could be fooling around with some woman."

Zhang Qimo was at a loss for words and let out a sigh.

"Look, daughter, you don't need to stress over these things. Just focus on your work; I'll handle the household matters," Lu Yahui stated firmly.

"Lee Pu, if you want to continue earning your keep here, you'd better behave," Lu Yahui huffed, clearly displeased with the old butler Lin Yin had brought into the household. "Let me make it clear: I run this house. Keep siding with Director Lin, and you'll find yourself out on the street just like him. At your age, do you think you could find another job as good as this one?"

Lu Yahui had actually considered replacing Lee Pu, but after inquiring with a domestic agency, she learned that hiring a professional butler would cost her thousands a month, an expense she was reluctant to incur.

After all, this old man was Lin Yin's hire – just another expense to be grudgingly accepted.

Lee Pu hesitated to speak, his face etched with resignation. He sighed quietly, choosing to remain silent.

Having served as the chief steward for the Qi Family in Imperial City for the better part of his life, Lee Pu had witnessed all manner of scenes and met all types of people.

Yet, he had never encountered a woman as ostentatious and shortsighted as this one!

At that moment, Zhang Qimo's phone began to ring. She answered the call with a grave look on her face, her brow furrowing slightly.

"Mom, I'm heading to the company. They've called an emergency meeting of the executive board," Zhang Qimo stated earnestly, bidding farewell before leaving the villa.

"Alright, go get 'em, sweetheart!" Lu Yahui cheered with delight.

She then turned to Lee Pu with a cold huff and started dialing on her phone.

"Is this my younger brother's place? Yes, it's me, your aunt. Tell your dad to call me back later. You all should come to Qingyun City in a few days and stay at my villa," Lu Yahui commanded with grandeur over the phone.

She made a series of calls, boasting to each relative about her family's move into the upscale Snow Dragon Villa and inviting them to visit Qingyun City.

Finishing her calls, Lu Yahui beamed with satisfaction. After years with the Zhang Family, she could finally flaunt her status to her own family. Her daughter had indeed made her proud.

With that in mind, Lu Yahui wasted no time reaching out to real estate agents, eager to rent out rooms in the villa. She was determined to maximize the villa's potential and turn a profit from it.

Lee Pu watched the spectacle with a sense of helplessness, sighing to himself. She was blinded by greed, oblivious to the true treasures before her, engaging in foolish schemes.

He had considered informing the young master but then thought better of it. Such petty issues shouldn't interrupt his master's more important endeavors.

Let's wait for the young master to return and see how we'll deal with that brazen woman!

Twenty minutes later, at Precious Cauldron Tower.

Wu Zheng courteously opened the car door for Zhang Qimo, who, clutching her briefcase and clad in a luxurious suit, exuded the commanding presence of a female CEO, honed by her experiences in the company.

Zhang Qimo quickly made her way to the Board of Directors' office, located her designated chair marked with her position, and sat down with composed elegance.

As she took her seat at the conference table, Zhang Qimo felt a sense of unease, uncertain as to why the Board of Directors had called for an emergency meeting so abruptly.

Suddenly, a flurry of activity ensued as a team of lawyers and business professionals burst through the doors. Zhang Hongjun and Zhang Hongxuan, wearing triumphant smiles, confidently took their places at the executive directors' seats, followed by their team carrying briefcases and a plethora of documents and contracts.

"Directors Zhang, what's the meaning of this emergency meeting?" Wu Yang, seated in the chairman's seat, asked sternly, "Without a satisfactory explanation, you two will have some tough questions to answer."

The other key shareholders and directors present showed clear signs of displeasure.

"Chairman Wu is right. We're all extremely busy," one director said with visible irritation. "What's the reason for this sudden meeting? Do you even have the authority to meddle in the group's affairs?"

Zhang Hongjun let out a cold laugh before smiling broadly. "I apologize for the interruption. Today's emergency meeting is to announce a matter of great significance."

"Chairman Wu, I believe it's time for you to step down from your position," Zhang Hongjun declared smugly.

Wu Yang's brow furrowed as he turned to Zhang Hongjun. "What are you implying?"

"Haha, Chairman Wu, perhaps it would be best if the new major shareholders were to explain," Zhang Hongxuan said with a sly grin, clearly relishing the moment.

He had long been provoked by Wu Yang. After biding his time and enduring much, he was now ready to challenge Wu Yang's authority. He looked forward to a future where he would no longer be under Wu Yang's thumb.

"Chairman Wu, hello. It's been a while, hasn't it?" came a brash and arrogant voice.

Wang Ziwen, clad in a lavish mink fur coat, strutted into the office with an air of self-importance.

"Wang Ziwen?" Wu Yang's brow furrowed as he let out a derisive chuckle. "Do you think you're not notorious enough in Qingyun City?"

Flustered and face flushed, Ziwen hadn't anticipated such a cold reception. Wu Yang had immediately taunted him about his infamous incident of kneeling at the Water Garden entrance, a moment that had gone viral on Qingyun City's forums.

"Chairman Wu, I'm here on serious business today—to discuss a deal!" Ziwen retorted with a snort, settling into his seat with a smug look.

He had the chance to edge Wu Yang out of the Board of Directors today, to get some payback, yet he dared not truly cross him.

"Zhang Hongjun, is this the backup you've called in?" Wu Yang inquired.

"My apologies for being late."

Just then, a middle-aged woman and a middle-aged man entered the room.

Wu Yang's frown deepened as his gaze shifted to the newcomers. He recognized them: Zhou Xueqin from the Zhou Family and Sun Jian, the seventh son of the Sunn Family. To his surprise, representatives from all three of the major Qingyun City families had made an appearance.
