C129 Mysterious Force!

"How dare you! How dare you lay a hand on him!"

Wen Er and Wen San charged at once, flanking from the left and right in a coordinated attack.

Lin Yin swiftly moved, seizing the throats of both assailants with a twist. They collapsed to the ground, limp as if struck by lightning.

"Brother, who are you, exactly? Have I wronged you in some way? Are you after money, or is it something else you desire? I can give it to you," Wen Tianjiao pleaded.

He could no longer discern Lin Yin's features in the pitch-black surroundings, which only heightened his fear. His own heartbeat thundered in his ears, clear and distinct.

Wen Tianjiao, who had navigated the treacherous waters of Imperial City for years, had never before faced such a bizarre and perilous situation.

To think that he was being hunted down within his own stronghold, Wen Lou!

What did this mean?

Wen Lou was fortified with at least a hundred gunmen and sixty to seventy elite assassins from the Wen Family's secret guard, not to mention thirty notorious killers patrolling the corridors.

Even his personal bodyguards, the formidable Wen Er and Wen San, who could easily take on dozens, had been effortlessly subdued in an instant.

All these forces combined had failed to stop this enigmatic man. Was he even human? Or some kind of humanoid machine terminator?

"What do you want with me?" Wen Tianjiao inquired with a stern tone, managing to regain his composure. This was, after all, his domain. The mysterious man had come alone; if he intended harm, there was no way he'd leave Wen Lou unscathed.

"Where is Wen Tianfeng?" Lin Yin asked, his voice even.

"You're looking for my sister, Wen Tianfeng?" Wen Tianjiao's expression turned to one of alarm as he grasped the implications. "Are you the messenger working for Yu Zecheng? Which family are you serving?"

"You have remarkable skills. It's a waste for you to work for those families. Whatever they're paying you, I'll double it," Wen Tianjiao proposed confidently. "Is two billion enough? If not, how about five billion? Work for me, and you'll never be short of money."

As long as he could confirm that the mysterious man was the one associated with Zecheng, Wen Tianjiao felt reassured. Money was no object to him. He refused to believe that there was any problem in this world that couldn't be solved with money, especially when starting with billions.

Lin Yin struck Wen Tianjiao across the face with a slap that sent him reeling to the ground. His cheek swelled up, and his eyes widened in disbelief.

"Where is Wen Tianfeng?" Lin Yin demanded icily, his voice laced with lethal intent.

Something didn't add up for Lin Yin. Wen Tianfeng wasn't in the private room? He had made sure of her presence through Zecheng's secret guards, who had been surveilling her with binoculars from a distance. He was absolutely certain that Wen Tianfeng had entered Wen Lou just half an hour ago.

"What do you really want? Don't you care about money? Who are you working for?" Wen Tianjiao seethed, incredulous that anyone would dare to strike him.

"Whom do I serve?" Lin Yin replied with a chilling smile. "I serve the Qi Family."

"The Qi Family?!" Wen Tianjiao scrambled back in terror, his eyes wide with horror, as if he'd seen a ghost.

The Qi Family? The thought alone was petrifying. Hadn't the Qi Family perished?

As Wen Tianjiao recalled the mysterious man's fearsome abilities, he began to suspect he might actually be confronting a ghost.

Lin Yin's grip tightened around Wen Tianjiao's throat, his forehead veins bulging with the effort.

"I'll ask you one more time. Where is Wen Tianfeng? Speak, or you'll die," Lin Yin threatened, his tone frosty.

Wen Tianjiao was gasping for air, shaking uncontrollably, his face ashen with fear. He realized that this enigmatic man was indeed willing to kill him.

It's an unchanging truth: no matter how powerful individuals are, they become utterly vulnerable when faced with their own mortality. After all, death leaves nothing behind.

"I'll tell you! Wen Tianfeng, she just went to the restroom!" Wen Tianjiao blurted out, prioritizing his survival above all else as he divulged her whereabouts.

With a single punch, Lin Yin knocked Wen Tianjiao unconscious. A couple of forceful kicks shattered his bones, rendering him completely immobile.

This man still had his uses; Lin Yin needed him to uncover the hidden forces backing the Wen Family.

Having dealt with Wen Tianjiao, Lin Yin burst out of the room and dashed down the corridor towards the restroom at the far end.

At the restroom entrance, a slender woman's silhouette appeared. Lin Yin's brow furrowed slightly as he illuminated the figure with his phone's flashlight, revealing a woman who exuded a gentle and virtuous aura, seemingly embodying the traditional virtues of gentleness and thrift.

Her name was Wen Tianfeng.

Had one not been aware of Wen Tianfeng's malicious intentions and cunning, it would be impossible to suspect that this woman could harbor such venom. She had infiltrated the Qi Family for over a decade, ultimately annihilating them without sparing even her husband, Qi Hetu, whom she had been with for more than ten years.

Wen Tianfeng regarded him with a smirk that barely concealed her confidence.

Lin Yin couldn't help but feel unnerved. This woman was far from ordinary.

"You're here for me, aren't you? Too bad, you've lost your chance," Wen Tianfeng said with a self-assured smile, her lips curling into a smirk.

Lin Yin exploded into action, intent on taking her down in an instant.

Bang!

Out of nowhere, a shadowy figure clad in gray and wearing a mask burst from a room, intercepting Lin Yin's attack. With a stealthy punch, the figure even managed to push Lin Yin back two steps.

"Heh, I should have known, your kind would be involved in this," Lin Yin scoffed, his suspicions confirmed. The Wen Family was far from straightforward.

Meanwhile, Wen Tianfeng, flanked by two indistinct figures, hurried down the stairs, evidently aiming to flee the scene.

Lin Yin charged, unleashing a barrage of strikes with his palms and legs, determined to swiftly dispatch the masked assailant.

The masked figure chuckled hoarsely, moving with lightning speed. He delivered a fierce punch, the force of his blow and the whoosh of his fist cutting through the air.

With a resounding impact, Lin Yin's fist collided with the masked figure, sending him reeling back several steps. But in a flash, the figure spun around and surged forward again, moving with the fluidity of a fish. Darting back and forth, he unleashed a series of palm strikes, each one accompanied by the whistling sound of the wind.

Lin Yin's expression tightened. This man could not only withstand his punch but also counter with such agility. His strength was formidable indeed.

Lin Yin couldn't afford to waste any more time. Agile as a dragon, he unleashed a flurry of kicks at the masked figure, the dull thuds echoing as he relentlessly struck. The force of their confrontation left gaping holes in both walls.

Yet, astonishingly, the masked adversary withstood the barrage of punches and kicks for over ten seconds!

Finally, Lin Yin's powerful kick sent the figure hurtling through the air for more than ten meters, a fresh spurt of blood trailing behind. In a swift move, the figure extracted a blurry black sphere from his bag and hurled it.

Lin Yin's pupils contracted as he dashed backward, leaping dozens of meters away in an instant.

The corridor was suddenly illuminated by a massive explosion.

The mysterious masked man had thrown a grenade!

In a split second, Lin Yin had created a safe distance from the blast. With an icy demeanor, he spun around, catching shards of the grenade mid-air with a swift motion.

Intent on pursuing Wen Tianfeng and the masked man, Lin Yin was abruptly alerted by footsteps behind him. A squad of black-clad bodyguards charged at him, guns blazing.

Fury took hold of Lin Yin—it was the first time he hadn't fully unleashed his power. He surged forward, a phantom in motion. Within ten seconds, the gunfire ceased, replaced by screams as the bodyguards collapsed, unconscious.

"I held back and let Wen Tianfeng escape. I was careless; she even had an expert in inner strength by her side," Lin Yin murmured to himself.

With a stoic face, Lin Yin turned back to the room only to discover Wen Tianjiao, lying there with shattered bones, was dead. During the melee, he had been shot repeatedly in the head.

The last living witness was gone.

Wen Tianfeng's heart was merciless. Even in haste, she decisively killed her own brother to silence him.

After a brief hesitation, Lin Yin dashed out of Wen Lou. He raced toward Yu Zecheng, hoping he could delay Wen Tianfeng and her entourage just a little longer.
