C130 Lin Yin's Suspicions
Three minutes later, Lin Yin burst out of Imperial Sun City, only to discover that Yu Zecheng's men were all collapsed on the ground, incapacitated.
Yu Zecheng, drenched in blood, approached with a look of shame. "I apologize, Master Yin. Despite giving it my all, I couldn't stop the Wen Family's people," he confessed remorsefully.
Lin Yin remained stoic. Given Yu Zecheng's abilities, it was true that he stood no chance against the enigmatic man in black.
"Master Yin, I spotted Wen Tianfeng and tried to intervene, but the masked man with her was simply too formidable. I couldn't withstand his blows and was quickly overpowered," Yu Zecheng explained cautiously. "Aside from the masked man, the guards accompanying Wen Tianfeng are also top-tier fighters. My men stood no chance against them; they didn't even get the opportunity to draw their weapons."
"This isn't on you," Lin Yin stated calmly. "Keep some of your men on watch over Imperial Sun City, and bring in more reinforcements. Now, let's head to the Wen Family's side-home."
Upon hearing this, Yu Zecheng first breathed a sigh of relief, then his expression turned to one of shock. "Master Yin, we're heading to the Wen Family's side-home now?" he asked incredulously.
"We'll discuss it in the car. There's no time to waste," Lin Yin said as he settled into the Bentley.
Without further ado, Yu Zecheng hurried to the driver's seat, started the car, and floored the accelerator, steering towards the bustling streets.
Lin Yin closed his eyes to meditate, his mind racing with the night's events.
Sweat beaded on Yu Zecheng's forehead as he drove, frantically making calls to rally his troops towards the Wen Family's side-home.
The Wen Family's side-home was nestled in a residential district within Imperial City, an entire neighborhood of villas owned by the Wen Family and inhabited by their direct descendants.
It seemed Master Yin's assault had hit its mark, and now he was intent on ruthlessly pursuing the Wen Family to the bitter end.
Yu Zecheng, seasoned by his many years in Imperial City, had never witnessed a scene as commanding as tonight's. In a mere ten minutes, Master Yin had single-handedly forced the Wen Family's secret guards and heirs to flee like dogs without homes, leaving Yu Zecheng utterly astonished.
This was the Wen Family from Imperial City, one of the top five aristocratic families in Dragon Country. To think they were routed by a single individual. It was as if their firepower was nothing but a facade.
Yu Zecheng could scarcely fathom the extent of Master Yin's abilities; they were simply terrifying.
After issuing orders over the phone, Zecheng addressed Master Yin with a solemn tone, "Master Yin, I've completed the mobilization of our forces. They will be ready to assemble shortly."
"Very good," Lin Yin acknowledged with a slight nod.
"By the way, Master Yin, I saw Wen Tianfeng escape, but I didn't catch sight of Wen Tianjiao. Did you manage to apprehend him?" Yu Zecheng inquired cautiously, not daring to probe into the events that had transpired within Wen Lou.
He had witnessed the explosion at Wen Lou firsthand; it was undoubtedly caused by a grenade. And yet, Master Yin emerged unscathed. The implications of what might have occurred inside were beyond belief.
"He's dead," Lin Yin stated indifferently.
"I understand," Yu Zecheng replied, his mind reeling with the implications.
Wen Tianjiao was dead?
It seemed that the turmoil in Imperial City would be far greater than he had anticipated. The developments were explosive. He couldn't begin to predict how the situation in Imperial City would evolve by the next day.
The two men fell silent.
Twenty minutes later, a Bentley pulled up in front of a grand and opulent villa complex.
This sprawling estate was a testament to the Wen Family's immense wealth, with land values in the bustling heart of Imperial City reaching astronomical figures.
Numerous black Bentleys, each carrying the core elite forces Yu Zecheng had called upon, were parked outside the estate.
"We've arrived!" announced Grizzly Bear as he approached, his robust frame tensing at the sight of Lin Yin. He quickly averted his gaze, his expression a mix of awe and uncertainty. Having previously witnessed Master Yin's formidable capabilities, he regarded him with a reverence akin to that for a deity.
Master Yu had brought him to the Wen Family's side-home, and with such a significant assembly of manpower, it was clear they were poised for a momentous undertaking.
"What's the current status here?" Yu Zecheng asked with urgency.
"Master Yu, you instructed me to bring reinforcements, so I arrived at the earliest opportunity. But when I got here, the Wen Family's side-home was deserted—everyone was gone," Grizzly Bear reported, his voice tinged with confusion.
"Is it completely deserted? Have they all left?" Yu Zecheng was astounded. What was happening? Had the Wen Family been frightened away?
"Not a soul in sight, Master Yu. Even the security guards have vanished," Grizzly Bear said with a sense of resignation. "I can't find anyone to question. The nearby cameras have been shattered by bullets. We're in the dark about what transpired at the Wen Family's side-home."
Yu Zecheng's expression was one of bitter contemplation. He turned to Lin Yin and inquired, "Master Yin, what's our next move? It seems like the Wen Family has fled."
"Let's head back. Tonight, you can assemble the business team, and by tomorrow, you'll be ready to take over all of the Wen Family's enterprises in Imperial City," Lin Yin stated with composure before returning to the back seat of the car.
"I'm to take over the Wen Family's assets?" Yu Zecheng was taken aback, struggling to grasp the reality of the situation.
He quickly got into the driver's seat and set off. He hadn't had a moment to ponder his extraordinary luck.
It was as if he had become wealthy overnight. By taking over the Wen Family's assets in Imperial City, he was set to become the most prominent tycoon in Dragon Country!
Yu Zecheng was intensely curious. He didn't know what tactics Master Yin had employed, but they were effective enough to send the Wen Family into a panic, abandoning their ancestral home and going into hiding. Yet, he dared not probe further.
Lin Yin lit a cigarette, already aware of the unfolding events.
The power backing the Wen Family had acted swiftly and decisively, prompting the Wen Family to choose retreat over confrontation.
Lin Yin's curiosity was piqued. Who were the forces behind the Wen Family, and why were their methods so formidable?
The Wen Family's wealth and influence in Imperial City had reached the pinnacle of Dragon Country. Yet, they had relinquished it all so readily.
Choosing to abandon everything at the height of their power was baffling.
Even though he had managed to drive the Wen Family out of Imperial City, Lin Yin felt as if he hadn't truly hurt them.
It appeared the Wen Family had no intention of seeking revenge.
Something was amiss. Something was decidedly off.
Lin Yin closed his eyes and massaged his temples.
The Wen Family hadn't been aware of his identity beforehand; otherwise, they wouldn't have been ensnared so effortlessly.
Why would the backers of the Wen Family issue such a resolute command in such a short time within Imperial Sun City? It's inconceivable that they would forsake the Wen Family.
They wield immense wealth, yet they lacked the confidence to confront him?
The Wen Family's riches rival that of a nation, and they are not short of skilled individuals.
The audacity of the Wen Family is legendary; they even had the gall to take down the Qi Family. It's implausible that the emergence of a mysterious and formidable figure would frighten them into abandoning everything, including their ancestral home.
