C50 Becoming Famous

Qin Fei quickly gathered several elegant handbags and arranged them on the glass table.

Each handbag and small box bore the logo of a top-tier luxury brand, items guaranteed to excite many women.

Wang Ziwen offered a restrained smile as he turned to Zhang Qimo and said, "Qimo, these are just a few small tokens from me. Allow me to introduce each one to you."

With a smile still gracing his face, Wang Ziwen shook his sleeves and began to lift the delicate gift boxes from the table.

He also made a point of displaying his wristwatch—a prestigious timepiece from the Jiang Shi Dan collection, valued at over three million yuan.

"Qimo, this is a women's bag that I'm particularly fond of. I bought it with the hope that one day I would meet a beautiful and elegant lady to whom I could present it," Wang Ziwen said, exuding charm as he gently unveiled the contents of an exquisite gift box.

Inside was a women's Louis Vuitton bag, radiating classic elegance and fashionable sophistication, its fine craftsmanship evident in every detail.

Wang Ziwen smiled slightly, casting a self-satisfied glance at Lin Yin.

"Qimo, my affection for the Louis Vuitton brand stems from a particular story," Wang Ziwen continued, his voice mellow. "In the last century, during the salvage of the Titanic's wreckage, a suitcase was retrieved. Despite being submerged for over a hundred years, it was completely undamaged."

"The suitcase was Louis Vuitton," he said, looking at Zhang Qimo. "I'm giving it to you in the hope that our friendship will prove just as enduring, lasting more than a hundred years."

Zhang Qimo looked uncomfortable upon hearing Wang Ziwen's words and replied, "This gift is too valuable; I can't accept it..."

"No..." Wang Ziwen interrupted, gesturing with his hand, sincerity etched across his face. "I've always said I would reserve these gifts for an elegant and beautiful lady whom I truly admire, and you, Qimo, are that person."

"To me, their worth cannot be quantified by money. They hold no significant monetary value for me," Wang Ziwen explained calmly. "Their true value lies in the opportunity to present them to the right person."

Wang Ziwen meticulously opened each of the exquisite gift boxes, revealing a set of Chanel perfumes with an array of over a dozen distinct fragrances. Alongside them were various colored Louis Vuitton belts and a selection of Hermes scarves in different designs—a nearly complete collection of luxury items any lady would appreciate.

"Qimo, if I may be so honored, I would relish the opportunity to accompany you in selecting clothing that you adore," Wang Ziwen said with a smile. "You are a connoisseur of jewelry, Qimo, so I wouldn't presume to offer you any in that regard."

Having extended his offer, Wang Ziwen watched Zhang Qimo expectantly, hoping she would accept his gifts. His gaze towards Lin Yin was brimming with pride; he made no attempt to conceal his sense of superiority, confident in his impeccable display. He saw himself as humble yet sophisticated, wealthy yet cultured.

In his mind, he was leagues beyond someone like Lin Yin. He had invested considerable thought and effort into assembling these gifts, having researched what girls love most.

Considering Zhang Qimo's modest family background and sudden rise to fame in the jewelry world, and the fact that her husband, Lin Yin, was hardly impressive, Wang Ziwen was convinced she couldn't possibly refuse a gift from one of Qingyun City's most eligible bachelors.

"Brother Wang, you've really outdone yourself! I'm envious!" Wu Chuyu exclaimed, astonished by the lavishness of the gifts that outshone even her own.

"These items are worth millions," Shen Hao added, "and this is just Brother Wang's initial offering. He's incredibly generous!"

"I can't accept your gift, Young Master Wang. We've only just met," Zhang Qimo responded, clearly overwhelmed.

She recognized the substantial value of the gifts but knew that such extravagant presents were inappropriate for a first meeting. She understood that one shouldn't lightly accept gifts from others.

"Qimo, don't regard them as too precious. It's enough that you simply enjoy them," Wang Ziwen reassured her with a smile. "In our circle, such a gift is trivial. Since this is your first time meeting everyone, I naturally want to give you a grand welcome. We can't have you feeling less esteemed among our peers."

"Qimo, with your talent and beauty, you truly deserve these," Wang Ziwen lavished her with compliments.

Zhang Qimo bit her lip, overwhelmed by the situation. She was torn between refusing and accepting the gifts. With a look of resignation, she glanced at Lin Yin for help.

Lin Yin remained composed as he gently pushed the lavish gift aside and spoke calmly, "I'm sorry. Qimo doesn't want your gift. Please take it back."

"What? You're a deadbeat who relies on a woman. What gives you the right to decide for Qimo?" Qin Fei challenged, stepping forward.

"How do you know Qimo doesn't like these gifts? It's probably your presence that's making her uncomfortable!" Shen Hao accused, his voice thick with anger. "Just look at yourself, a total bumpkin. You've got the nerve to sneak into Mingbao House. Have you even looked at yourself? You lack the ability. Do you really want Qimo to be embarrassed alongside you?"

"Lin Yin, you truly are an oddity," Wu Chuyu sneered, her face twisted in contempt. "Are you green with envy? Jealous of Brother Wang? As a man, you can't provide what your wife wants, and you won't even let others give it to her? That's just pathetic."

"You're such a worthless man, living off your wife, and you still forbid others from giving her valuable gifts. It's truly sad," Wu Chuyu mocked. "I bet you're just scared and feeling guilty. Afraid of being outdone by another man in front of your wife? Is that why you followed Qimo to Mingbao House, to stir up trouble?"

"Ziwen, Qimo, what's happening here?"

At that moment, an irritated voice cut through the tension.

Zhang Hongyu approached from another part of the establishment, Wang Zhong at her side.

"Third Aunt," Wang Ziwen greeted her with a sly grin. "It's nothing. I was just offering Qimo a welcome gift, but Lin Yin decided for her that she wouldn't accept it."

"What?" Zhang Hongyu's eyebrows knitted together as she eyed the opulent gifts on the glass table.

Her gaze turned icy as she fixed it on Lin Yin, her voice sharp with fury. "Lin Yin, what do you think you're doing? You say Qimo won't accept it? Do you realize how significant Ziwen's gesture is? Are you trying to insult the Wang Family?"

"You really have no clue, do you?" Zhang Hongyu scoffed. "Let me make this clear, Lin Yin, you can forget about freeloading off the Zhang Family. Qimo is destined to be a prominent socialite in Qingyun City. And don't you dare try to meddle in her affairs or hold her back."

Wang Zhong's face was a picture of displeasure as he glared at Lin Yin. "Some people just lack any self-awareness. Even after getting a taste of our world, he still can't grasp the pecking order he belongs to."

Zhang Hongyu spoke with an air of authority, "Qimo, I've decided for you. Accept Ziwen's gift and be sure to thank him properly."
