C75 Something Big Is about to Happen!
"Don't you dare walk away! Stand still!" Wang Hongling seethed with fury, her teeth practically itching with rage as she glared at Lin Yin's retreating figure.
"How could you insult Ziwen like that? You've created a blood feud! Without my protection, do you think you can still make it in Qingyun City?" Wang Hongling spat out, her anger tinged with humiliation.
"Childish," Lin Yin remarked without so much as glancing back.
Wang Hongling's cheeks ballooned as she took a deep breath, watching Lin Yin's confident departure with a surge of anger.
"Childish, am I?" Wang Hongling was incredulous. "No.6, No.7, don't you think this man is an oddity?"
No.6 appeared hesitant, clearly thinking that Miss Wang was indeed acting childish in Lin Yin's presence, yet he dared not voice it.
"Miss Wang, before you and No.7 arrived, I witnessed Lin Yin's unflinching demeanor in the face of over a dozen gunmen. He regarded them as if they were mere ants," No.6 said gravely. "That kind of presence can't be feigned."
Wang Hongling's brow furrowed as she questioned, "How do you know he wasn't just frozen with fear?"
"Miss Wang, I've been through a lot overseas and have seen my fair share of intense situations. But Lin Yin, he gives me a chill like no other, more threatening than being in the crosshairs of several heavy snipers. I believe he was telling the truth," No.6 asserted with conviction. "He has the confidence to stand up to a dozen gun barrels."
No.6 was truly taken aback by Lin Yin. He couldn't fathom how Lin Yin could possibly handle guns trained on him from various directions at such close range. Yet, the sheer self-assurance Lin Yin exuded made him a believer; Lin Yin was without fear, his gaze even held a hint of mockery, as if the guns pointed at him were nothing more than useless scrap.
Wang Hongling's eyes gleamed as she pondered, her finger tapping her chin thoughtfully. "Could he really possess such skill?" she mused aloud.
The image of that man flashed through her mind, and a blush crept across her cheeks.
...
As night fell over Snow Dragon Villa, Lin Yin returned to his opulent abode. Standing on the third-floor balcony, hands clasped behind him, he gazed contemplatively at the eternal flow of the Qingyun River.
Then, a knock at the door broke the silence.
"Come in," Lin Yin said with a composed tone.
Shen San, clad in a floral shirt and fiddling with prayer beads, stepped onto the balcony with a silver briefcase in hand, his expression one of reverence.
"Master Lin, I've completed the task you assigned," Shen San said, standing respectfully to the side and bowing slightly. "I've gathered the information you requested. The leader of the group from the eastern part of the city is Zhou Binn. He's a direct descendant of the Zhou Family and the son of the Zhou Family's second son. Zhou Binn studied in South America in his early years and later stayed there to build his influence. Among the people he's brought back, besides the foreigners, there are three from Dragon Country who are experts in martial arts, capable of breaking stone slabs with their bare hands. They're formidable fighters."
"Additionally, here is the inventory of assets and properties in the Eastern District following Xie Kun's death." Shen San carefully placed the silver briefcase on the tea table and opened it with caution.
Inside the briefcase were share contracts for various businesses in the Eastern District, complete equity documents for dozens of entertainment venues, and a large stack of bank cards.
Lin Yin glanced at the contents of the briefcase and inquired, "Have you arranged a meeting with Zhou Binn for negotiations?"
Shen San replied earnestly, "Yes, Zhou Binn has agreed to a decisive battle to determine the rightful ownership of the Eastern District. It's set for tomorrow at the Qingyun River's Longhu Dock."
"I'll take care of him tomorrow," Lin Yin stated evenly. "Also, I need you to expand your power and quickly unify the underworld. List those in Qingyun City who are beyond your control."
"I'll get right on it when I return!" Shen San said, his voice filled with fervor. "There are many areas in Qingyun City where I've yet to establish influence—West City, North City, the city center, and several outlying counties. I'm aware of who controls each area. What are your instructions?"
"Those who align with me will thrive; those who defy me will perish," Lin Yin declared calmly. "I will assist you."
"Yes, Master Lin! I will follow your lead!" Shen San exclaimed, his enthusiasm palpable.
Could Master Lin be positioning him to become the most influential figure in East Sea Province? Such a prospect was an incredible opportunity! Before meeting Master Lin, his influence was confined to Southern City. But since pledging allegiance to Master Lin, he had conquered the Eastern District in less than a week, and his power had surged.
He had no doubt about Master Lin's capabilities, for Master Lin was all-powerful!
"Alright, you may go back now," Lin Yin said with composure.
"Yes!" Shen San bowed and respectfully exited the villa.
Lin Yin picked up his teacup and took a small sip.
It wouldn't be long before Shen San and Jiang Qi would manage East Sea Province on his behalf.
He needed to establish his own power base.
Lin Yin stood up and gazed out at the Qingyun River scenery. For some reason, he was reminded of the conversation he had with Qi Hetu. Something about Qi Hetu's words seemed off.
The teacup in his hand suddenly dropped to the floor, shattering completely.
Lin Yin's face showed a slight change as a sense of inexplicable unease took hold within him, and his eyes took on a profound depth.
It was unthinkable for him to drop a teacup.
Having studied medical divination and astrological calculations with his master from a young age, he knew this was not a good omen.
Lin Yin was on high alert, knowing that Shen San's adversaries and their lackeys could not possibly threaten him.
So, what exactly was the issue?
Meanwhile, in Qingyun City, at the Qingyun Hotel.
In the dead of night.
The exhibition hall on the twenty-sixth floor was shrouded in darkness and the stench of blood.
The safe in the corner had been forcefully opened with a gun.
A shadowy figure in black retrieved the contents of the safe and tossed them onto the desk.
Beside the desk, six other figures in black stood.
"Qi Hetu certainly took care of his long-lost son, knowing his end was near. He even left him a substantial sum of money," the man in black said in a raspy voice.
"But why hasn't Qi Hetu's son come to claim these things?" another figure in black questioned, her voice deep and feminine. "Is he not in need of money, or does he not know?"
"From the intelligence we've gathered, it's clear that Qi Hetu's son is aware of the inheritance," the man in black continued with frustration. "But Qi Hetu covered his tracks too well, erasing all evidence. After buying this hotel, he even wiped all the surveillance footage from the past year," he lamented. "If it weren't for a traitor close to Qi Hetu, we wouldn't even know he had been to East Sea Province, let alone Qingyun City."
"It's unfortunate that we didn't manage to apprehend Lee Pu today. Besides him, no one knows the true identity of Qi Yin, the Qi Family's sole child from Imperial City, or his current hiding place," the woman stated icily.
"Our superiors have made it clear that we must eradicate any threats. It doesn't matter where the Qi Family's child is hiding; we are to terminate him! If we fail to accomplish this task, we can forget about ever returning to Imperial City," the man in black declared with a chilling tone. "However, the fact that Lee Pu remains in Qingyun City suggests that Qi Yin is still here as well."
"Continue the pursuit of Lee Pu and locate him! Moreover, spare no expense in uncovering Qi Yin's present alias and whereabouts. Also, ensure someone is monitoring this office floor. Apprehend anyone suspicious entering Qingyun Hotel without delay."
"Understood!"
The men in black, in unison, nodded their agreement.
