C82 Blood Night!
"Tell me, how many people have you brought over? Are they all positioned in Qingyun City?" Lin Yin demanded, his tone icy. "And how exactly did the Wen Family annihilate the Qi Family? Who else stands with the Wen Family?"
Wen Bao let out a chilling laugh, his voice sounding bizarre due to the numbness in his mouth. "Do you think I'd tell you? Even if you promise to spare me, do you honestly believe I'd trust you? Go ahead, kill me. I never planned to live if I failed."
Lin Yin sneered in response. "Once I've obtained the information I need, I'll grant you a swift exit. I'm aware that trained assassins like you, raised from a young age, don't fear death. You probably wouldn't even flinch at professional interrogation techniques."
"You're right to know that. Someone from the Wen Family will avenge me. I'll be waiting for you in hell!" Wen Bao scoffed, his gaze seething with venom. "What does it matter if you've taken out my team? There will be an endless number of people hunting you for life! Even if you flee Qingyun City for the furthest corners of the earth, it won't make a difference! You're the last of the Qi Family, and you'll inevitably die at the hands of the Wen Family!"
A cold glint and a touch of malice shone in Lin Yin's eyes. "I've studied and mastered the interrogation and torture techniques from throughout history since my youth, yet I've never had the chance to apply them. Today, I'll test each one on you and see how long you last."
No sooner had he spoken than the chopsticks Lin Yin was holding flew from his grasp, piercing Wen Bao's shoulder blades like iron nails, anchoring into the flesh.
Lin Yin advanced, propping up Wen Bao's limp body with force. He twisted Wen Bao's frame, delivering a series of punches to several vital pressure points.
Then, flipping Wen Bao over, Lin Yin bound his legs and secured them to the balcony railing. Wen Bao dangled in the air, his blood coursing in the wrong direction.
Wen Bao's complexion turned ghostly pale, his brow beaded with sweat, as he let out a low, agonized growl. His body stiffened completely, as if being sliced by a thousand knives. The piercing pain spread incrementally, while fresh blood began to seep from his shoulder blades.
"Can you remain defiant until your blood runs dry?" Lin Yin applied psychological pressure to Wen Bao.
After his remark, Lin Yin dismissed Wen Bao and made a phone call.
"Master Lin, what can I do for you?" Shen San inquired with respect on the other end.
"Meet me at Qingyun Hotel."
Lin Yin hung up and stepped out onto the balcony, bracing against the chilly wind. He gazed at the towering skyscrapers and the dazzling, bustling street scene below, lighting a cigarette.
He needed Wen Bao to spill the truth. At the very least, he had to eliminate Wen Bao's network and the potential threats he had planted in Qingyun City.
With Wen Bao's team eradicated, the Wen Family in Imperial City would surely send more people to investigate the loss of their assassins, even if they didn't suspect him.
This urgency was precisely why Lin Yin had tasked Shen San with quickly consolidating the underground forces. With a robust network of informants, he could easily detect any future infiltrators from the Wen Family into Qingyun City, establishing a proactive first line of defense.
Furthermore, Lin Yin's strategy required Shen San to first stabilize Qingyun City, paving the way for him and Jiang Qi to make waves in the business sector.
Only then could he feel secure about his wife, Zhang Qimo's safety in Qingyun City. Afterwards, he'd be free to visit his grandfather in Imperial City and confront the Wen Family.
"Wuu!" Wen Bao gasped for air, his face twisted in agony as he cried out, "I'll talk! I'll tell you everything I know!"
Lin Yin had merely employed the initial phase of his interrogation techniques, and already Wen Bao was at his breaking point, unaware of the extent of the cruel methods that awaited him.
It was a terror that gripped him both mentally and physically, an endless ordeal of pain.
Wen Bao couldn't fathom where Lin Yin had acquired such skills in torture. Without resorting to brutal violence, merely by contorting his limbs and striking certain pressure points, Wen Bao was subjected to torment far worse than burns, cuts, or the piercing agony of nails being driven under his fingernails.
"Kill me!"
Wen Bao, unable to bear the torment any longer, shouted out as he saw Lin Yin leisurely smoking. He couldn't stand the pain for even a second more.
Lin Yin turned slowly, a cold smile on his face. "Is that the extent of your loyalty to the Wen Family? Go on, talk."
"I'm just the leader of the fifth group of the Wen Family's secret guards. When the Wen Family took down the Qi Family, my role was limited to dealing with some of the lesser Qi Family members. I wasn't privy to the assassinations of the more prominent figures, so I'm unaware of the specifics. I also don't know about any other powers backing the Wen Family," Wen Bao gasped out, his face ashen.
"I've only brought a team of twenty assassins to Qingyun City. They're spread out across various districts. I can give you their hideouts and how to contact them."
...
Half an hour later.
Lin Yin was reclining in the back seat of the Rolls-Royce Phantom that Shen San had recently acquired. Shen San himself was at the wheel, driving towards Snow Dragon Villa.
"Have you taken care of everything I mentioned?" Lin Yin asked, his tone even.
"Rest assured, Master Lin. I'll have good news for you before dawn. Everything will be handled and the aftermath dealt with cleanly," Shen San replied earnestly. "Considering the skill of those assassins, I've dispatched groups of several dozen to engage them separately. I've even called in those foreign desperados who used to work for Zhou Binn, and I've put the Liu brothers in charge of each squad."
"Mm," Lin Yin acknowledged, his face devoid of emotion.
Catching Lin Yin's gaze in the rearview mirror, Shen San felt an intense, chilling pressure. He knew this was a test from Master Lin. It was his first time orchestrating a hit for Master Lin, and he felt that he had to give it his all, even if it seemed like a minor task. Failing to handle this properly was unthinkable; he couldn't bear the thought of disappointing Master Lin.
Tonight, Shen San had witnessed Lin Yin's ruthless side firsthand. The scene he had stumbled upon at the rooftop of Qingyun Hotel was nothing short of horrific.
He couldn't fathom what Wen Bao had endured at Lin Yin's hands, to the point of begging for a swift death. It was the first time Shen San had ever heard such a plea.
Shen San knew, without a doubt, this night would be steeped in blood.
The turbulence ahead is sure to continue unabated!
He was a man of the world, well aware that the men in black at Qingyun Hotel tonight were highly skilled. Clearly, they were formidable outsiders, evidently linked to Master Lin's influential background.
The Rolls-Royce Phantom glided along before reaching the entrance to Snow Dragon Villa.
Just then, Lin Yin's phone began to ring.
"Go back to your tasks. I'll enter on my own. If anything comes up, I'll let you know," Lin Yin instructed with a stern tone.
"Yes, Master Lin," Shen San replied as he rose to open the door. After seeing Lin Yin off with due respect, he turned the car around and drove off.
It was Zhang Qimo calling. Lin Yin answered the phone.
"Hello, Lin Yin? Haven't gone to bed yet?" Zhang Qimo's voice came through, tinged with hesitation.
"No, I'm up. What's the matter?" Lin Yin inquired.
"Have you been alright these past few days? You haven't been at work," Zhang Qimo expressed her concern. "I'm calling because there's something you need to know."
"I've been managing quite well," Lin Yin replied with a chuckle. "Just tell me what's going on."
"There's a family meeting at the Zhang Family's old house tomorrow, concerning you. You should come," Zhang Qimo said gravely. "Elder uncle and Second Aunt are pushing to have you ousted from the Zhang Family. They've painted a very negative picture of you. And you know how my mother is, alas."
"I think they're being excessively harsh on you, it's simply not fair. Regardless of your decision, I'll make sure you get the house and car," Zhang Qimo declared earnestly.
Qimo was clearly worried about his decision.
A smile crept onto Lin Yin's face as he reassured her, "Alright, get some sleep. Don't worry so much. I'll be at the Zhang Family's old house tomorrow."
"Good night."
"Good night."
