C96 Bullsht!?
Jiang Qi clenched his teeth, remaining silent, his face contorted with agony.
"What's the matter? Still hesitating? Do you not care about your own mother's life?" Lu Guang challenged him. "I'm quite curious. Who's backing you with so much money? You had the guts to take over the Sunn Family's finances and even vowed to protect their assets."
"So you're that devoted? You'd sacrifice your mother's life? You're willing to guard this fortune for someone else?" Lu Guang asked, his tone mocking.
With a cold laugh, Jiang Qi responded firmly, "Do you think signing this contract will ensure my mother's and my safety? Heh, don't take everyone for fools!"
After all the years of toiling for the Sunn Family, what did he get? Betrayal and a cuckold's shame. And now, they had kidnapped his sixty-year-old mother. Could he expect any mercy from the Sunn Family?
With a loud smack, Lu Guang delivered a slap across Jiang Qi's face, snarling, "Beat him!"
A group of muscular thugs descended upon Jiang Qi, pummeling him with fists and feet until he was bruised and swollen.
Despite the pain, Jiang Qi fixed a cold stare on Lu Guang, biting down on his teeth to suppress any cries of pain.
"Very well, President Jiang, you've got quite the backbone," Lu Guang said icily, his face twisting into a menacing snarl. "Even kidnapping your mother doesn't phase you? I'm truly puzzled. Who are you really working for? You dare to defy the Sunn Family; who else could compel such loyalty?"
Lu Guang was baffled. Jiang Qi was known to be a shrewd man, one who had endured the Sunn Family's humiliations for years. Yet now, he had seized control of their wealth and refused to yield or reveal the truth.
"You have one minute to decide. Sign the contract now!"
Lu Guang drew a pistol, pressing the cold barrel against Jiang Qi's temple.
Then, he dialed a number on his phone, and the desperate cries of Jiang Qi's mother begging for help filled the air.
"Now decide. Who dies first, you or your mother?" Lu Guang threatened. "It's just a signature. Is it really that hard? It's not even your money. Once you sign, you'll get a hefty sum and can start a new life with your mother far from Qingyun City."
"I can't sign it!" Jiang Qi declared icily, standing firm despite the gun pointed at him, his body drenched in sweat.
At that moment, Jiang Qi's sole beacon of hope was Lin Yin, Director Lin himself. He wouldn't place his trust in anyone else.
Signing that contract would be tantamount to snuffing out his last breath of life!
He was acutely aware of this fact; without Lin Yin, no one in Qingyun City could come to his rescue.
Against the might of the Sunn Family, he was utterly powerless. And there was no one willing to stand with him against their formidable influence.
"Hang him up!" commanded Lu Guang, his voice devoid of warmth.
A group of burly men quickly subdued Jiang Qi, binding him tightly. In a matter of moments, they had flipped him upside down and dangled him outside the window, thirty floors above the ground.
Blood rushed to Jiang Qi's head, his eyes ablaze with a vengeful fury, as he dangled perilously high above the city, sweat streaming down his face.
Beep! Beep! Beep!
Just then, Jiang Qi's phone on the desk began to ring.
Lu Guang picked up the phone, a cryptic look crossing his face. "Lin Yin? Jiang Qi, is this call from your friend?" he inquired, lighting a cigar. "Why does that name ring a bell?"
"Could this friend be the infamous Trash Son-in-law, Lin Yin, from the Zhang Family?" Lu Guang suddenly remembered, his voice dripping with scornful mirth.
"You'd better hand that phone over to me. The wrath of Lin Yin is not something you can withstand," Jiang Qi retorted, his tone icy.
"Ha! Are you trying to intimidate me? So he is indeed your friend. Like attracts like, I suppose; a loser finds solace in the company of another," Lu Guang guffawed. "Jiang Qi, the Sunn Family may not hold you in high regard, but you're still a general manager. To think you'd befriend such a notorious failure—it's quite amusing!"
With that, Lu Guang answered Jiang Qi's phone with a sneer.
Since Jiang Qi refused to cooperate, Lu Guang decided to amuse himself with this 'trash,' Lin Yin.
"Jiang Qi, which floor are you on?" The phone transmitted the icy tone of a young man.
"Are you the Zhang Family's reject, Lin Yin? What do you want with Jiang Qi?" Lu Guang taunted.
"Who are you?" Lin Yin inquired.
"I'm your daddy," Lu Guang boasted arrogantly.
"Where are you?" Lin Yin maintained his composure.
"I'm in your mother's bed," Lu Guang jeered, shouting crudely. "Upset that I called you trash? Why don't you come and bite me?"
"Nothing to say, trash? Are you mad? Let me tell you something, I'm Lu Guang, your 'daddy.' If you can't stand it, come find me in North City anytime. Though, I doubt you've got the guts. And let me emphasize, I'm disciplining your mother. Are you listening? If you dare to talk back, I'll head over to the Zhang Family and end you!"
After his tirade, Lu Guang was smug. He was already frustrated with Jiang Qi, a real hard case, and he hadn't even managed to handle the tasks assigned by the Sunn Family.
Then Lin Yin, this trash, conveniently called. Oh, what fun. A perfect target to lash out at and release some steam.
Haha, Lin Yin really was spineless. Even with such insults, he didn't dare respond.
"Director Lin, I'm in the President's office on the thirty-third floor!" Jiang Qi bellowed.
The call ended with a beep.
"Director Lin?" Lu Guang scoffed. "Are you trying to intimidate me, Jiang Qi? Director Lin on the thirty-third floor? What, you think this loser Lin Yin will come to your aid? As if he'd dare. That's just hilarious."
Lu Guang's expression was one of scorn and wild arrogance as he lit up another cigarette.
But after a couple of drags, Lu Guang saw his men's faces turn to shock.
"What are you all staring at? What's with those looks?" Lu Guang asked, his brow furrowed.
"Brother Guang, someone's behind you," one of his henchmen said, tense.
"Someone's here?" Lu Guang looked confused and turned to face the door.
Thud!
As Lu Guang turned, a shoe print flew at him, followed by a massive force that smashed into his face. He spat out a mouthful of blood and was sent flying 360 degrees from his chair, crashing to the ground with a heavy thud.
"Who the hell are you? You dare to kick me?"
Fury blazed across Lu Guang's face. As he abruptly looked up, he caught sight of a young man in a white shirt, seemingly unremarkable.
"Take him down..." Lu Guang gestured to his bodyguards to charge, but he was suddenly struck with the realization that the young man's white shirt sleeves were smeared with fresh blood. He seemed to radiate a chilling aura of murderous intent.
Lu Guang's expression turned to one of terror. Disbelief filled his eyes, sweat beaded on his forehead, and a cold shiver ran through him.
Then it hit him—the entire Ocean Building was on lockdown. With the sole elevator entrance manned by over twenty armed guards, how on earth did this White Shirt Man make it up here? The thought was utterly horrifying.
Thud!
Lin Yin charged and kicked Lu Guang down once more, his shoe sole grinding into Lu Guang's face, forcing him to spit blood repeatedly.
A sinister smirk played at the corner of Lin Yin's mouth.
"You like playing games, huh?"
