C98 The Wind in North City Blew!

Lin Yin smirked, remaining silent. Lu Guang truly lacked any semblance of shame.

Individuals like Lu Guang were bold and brash over the phone or in online comments, but when faced with real trouble, they turned into spineless wretches.

"I misspoke; it was my fault. Master Lin, it was you who was with my mother. I deserve to be punished," Lu Guang pleaded as he knelt on the ground, slapping himself so hard that the imprint of his fingers was stark against his cheek.

"You really are despicable. With your kind of character, Director Lin would certainly not fancy your mother," someone sneered.

Jiang Qi, fueled by pent-up rage, lunged at him, delivering a series of punches and slaps. He kicked at Lu Guang's head with his leather shoes, each blow filled with fury. If it weren't for the fact that his mother was still in the clutches of the Sunn Family, he would have gladly ended Lu Guang's life then and there.

After a relentless beating, Jiang Qi's shoes were nearly falling apart. Lu Guang was left clutching his head, tears and mucus streaming down his face as he sobbed uncontrollably.

"Tell me, Lu Guang, where did you take my mother?" Jiang Qi demanded, his eyes bloodshot with anger. Snatching the handgun that had fallen from the desk, he shoved the barrel into Lu Guang's mouth.

"I..." Lu Guang was petrified, his speech faltering as the gun pressed against his trembling tongue.

"Will you talk or not?" Jiang Qi growled, veins throbbing on his forehead.

Jiang Qi, a man more accustomed to office work than handling firearms, showed a terrifying ferocity in that moment.

He had endured too much at the hands of the Sunn Family, pushed to the brink of ruin. Dangled from a high-rise building and his nearly sixty-year-old mother taken hostage by those monsters!

"I'll talk! I'll talk, President Jiang. I was just carrying out orders for Boss Qin!" Lu Guang blubbered, his face awash with tears and snot. "I have no idea what Boss Qin and the Sunn Family have arranged. Someone else took your mother—I don't know where she is! Please, lower the gun. I'm scared out of my wits!"

"You bunch of beasts, if you're so tough, come at me directly! Think you can take me down? Then do it! Can't beat me, so you kidnap my mother? What the hell are you? Trash! Beasts! Scum of the earth!"

"Every last one of you from the Sunn Family deserves to die!"

Jiang Qi erupted in a furious roar, his rage boiling over, nearly driving him to madness. He longed to take Lu Guang's life right then and there.

After taking several deep breaths, Jiang Qi managed to steady himself. He turned his gaze to Lin Yin, who sat expressionless in the executive chair.

Having regained his composure, Jiang Qi asked earnestly, "Director Lin, what should our next move be?"

Lin Yin lit a cigarette and replied indifferently, "You're coming with me to confront Qin Fugui and demand the release of your mother."

"Are we going to find Qin Fugui right now?" Jiang Qi inquired, a mix of surprise and skepticism in his voice.

His foremost concern was for his mother's safety. The idea that Director Lin was ready to confront Qin Fugui to secure her release filled him with joy.

Yet, Jiang Qi couldn't help but wonder, would Qin Fugui be so cooperative? Would he really agree to set her free?

Having been a part of the business world in North City for many years, Jiang Qi was well aware of Qin Fugui's reputation as a tyrant, notorious throughout North City for his wealth and influence.

Furthermore, Qin Fugui was recognized as a second-tier tycoon in Qingyun City. The Second Master of the Qin Family had his hands in business, while the Master of the Qin Family was involved with the underworld. Together, they formed a formidable alliance.

It was an unspoken rule that without the intervention of the Three Big Families, North City was Qin's domain.

Especially now that Qin Fugui had forged ties with the Sunn Family, with their support, he had the audacity to stand up to the Wang and Zhou Families in North City.

Jiang Qi had no doubts about Director Lin's capabilities. However, given the current situation, seeking out Qin Fugui on his home turf in North City seemed exceedingly risky.

"Master Lin, I've taken care of all the guards downstairs."

Just then, a middle-aged man with a commanding presence approached the office door. He was clad in a white training outfit, followed by a dozen men in black, each exuding an air of authority that easily overshadowed Lu Guang and his petty crew.

Lin Yin gave a slight nod and spoke with a calm detachment, "Liu Jun, have your men take Lu Guang and the rest away. After that, go start the car. We're heading to North City to meet with Qin Fugui."

"Yes, Master Lin!" Liu Jun responded with a respectful nod, gesturing to a group of bodyguards who promptly hauled Lu Guang and his associates away.

"Jiang Qi, once your mother is safe, I'll leave Lu Guang's fate in your hands," Lin Yin stated evenly.

"Thank you, Director Lin!" Jiang Qi replied, his enthusiasm boiling over.

He was still reeling from the surprise when he witnessed Liu Jun entering the office, but now he had pieced everything together. Jiang Qi, a prominent figure in high society, was well-acquainted with Liu Jun and his brothers.

Previously, the Liujun trio had been recruited by Zhou Binn, the Young Master of the Zhou Family, to serve as formidable warriors. However, after Zhou Binn fell victim to Shen San's schemes, Liu Jun pledged his loyalty to the ascendant Third Master Shen, becoming a favored lieutenant.

Even Liu Jun referred to Director Lin as Master Lin and followed his directives. This made it clear that Master Lin's influence was at least on par with Third Master Shen's, who was the leading figure in Qingyun City and on the verge of dominating East Sea Province.

Considering Third Master Shen's rapid rise from a Southern City thug to a position of power, Jiang Qi couldn't help but wonder about the forces behind such a transformation. With Director Lin's backing, he himself had the confidence to stand up to the Sunn Family, one of the Three Big Families.

Jiang Qi's acumen was no small factor in his business success. With Lin Yin's support, he quickly connected the dots, and the realization left him utterly astounded.

"What's going on here? Liu Jun? Aren't you with Third Master Shen now? Why are you working for Lin Yin?" Lu Guang bellowed in confusion and anger.

He couldn't believe it.

Lu Guang had clung to a sliver of hope that he might escape the immediate danger and then report back to Boss Qin for help in seeking revenge. But the instant he witnessed Liu Jun addressing Lin Yin as Master Lin, his thirst for vengeance dissipated like smoke.

"Lu Guang, listen closely. If you so much as whisper a word about today's events, you'll vanish from Qingyun City in the blink of an eye," Liu Jun warned icily. "Understand this: Master Lin has entrusted your fate to Jiang Qi. Your life is in his hands now."

"No! I swear I won't say anything. President Jiang, I'm begging you to spare me. I won't divulge a thing. I can provide intelligence—I know Boss Qin's favorite haunts. Please, have mercy." Lu Guang begged for his life.

With a thud, Lin Yin rose to his feet and delivered a kick that knocked Lu Guang out cold. He then stepped out of the office, straightened his collar, and accepted a black trench coat from Liu Jun, using it to conceal the bloodstains on his sleeve.

"Let's go find Qin Fugui," Lin Yin said with an air of nonchalance.
