C5 The divorce papers

It wouldn't be good for her mum to hear or see what is happening to them right now as it will only hinder her from getting well. She has already been admitted into the hospital since her injuries were not minor ones.

Jaden-lee ransacked his head on what to do next, especially finding a place of abode for them.

Another thing he couldn't do was to go back to her sister without finding any solution.

He quickly took his phone and called his friend Aaron- Jay.

" Hello buddy, how are you? Aaron-Jay asked.

"I'm not fine and I desperately need your help at the moment" Jaden-lee replied.

" You really sound tense, what could be the matter?" Aaron-Jay asked.

"I'll explain everything later to you but for now, it's there any tenant house owner you know that could lend us his or her apartment to stay while we pay them later? My family and I are on edge right now" Jaden-Lee asked.

"Mmmh….. There's one that I know who happens to be my mother's friend. Let me see if I can ask my mother for it" Aaron-Jay replied.

" Alright, give me feedback when you're done asking," Jaden-Lee replied.

After 30 minutes, his phone started to ring and he picked it up.

"We've asked her and she says you guys can move in '' Aaron-Jay related as Jaden-lee heaved a sigh of relief.

He quickly took a taxi and headed back home as he called the house movers over to help them with moving their properties to the place.

That was how Jaden-Lee and his sister moved out from the place they once called home.

Two days later, as Jaden-lee and her sister went to the hospital to visit their mother, and as she had been given food to eat, and they were now chatting, suddenly, their mum remembered something.

" Why is Ruby not going to school today?" She asked.

Jaden-lee has kept everything that had happened from day one till now a secret to her mum and has planned to tell her about it after she has been discharged from the hospital in order not to slow down her recovery rate so he quickly found an answer to her question.

" They are on break mum" he replied.

" Ohhh…. I see but why are they suddenly on break? I thought they only go on holidays?" His mum asked again.

" Mmmh…. probably….. a …change of plans" Jaden-Lee stuttered as he winked at his sister not to expose him.

" Okay…. If you say so…" his mum replied.

" What about your father, has he returned home yet or is still at the hospital?" She asked again.

" I don't know about his whereabouts, let's just focus on you first," Jaden-Lee replied.

" You don't have to hate him my son, he's still your father after all and I understand why you had to beat him up that day, that's why I'm not going to blame you. You were just defending me" her mum replied.

" I've heard you mum, you should rest now…. I'll go and see the doctor now" Jaden-Lee replied as he left the ward.

Ruby wanted to speak to her mum and she wished that she understands her sign language just like her brother who apart from those in their school, was able to understand it.

She wanted to tell her sorry for getting to pass through all this because of her and to assure her that it will be fine one-day.

As if reading her thoughts, her mother turned towards her.

" Ruby my dear, you don't have to blame yourself for anything. It's not your fault that were born dumb and I bet something like this would I've still happened even if you weren't born so and so you don't have to feel so sorry for me nor blame yourself for anything okay?" Her mum asked as Ruby nodded her head in response with tears filled eyes.

At the doctor's office,

Jaden-Lee was sitting opposite the doctor as he explained to him about his mother's condition.

"She really sustained severe injuries that have gone deep to her body that I am afraid they would take time to heal and if after finally getting healed, the scars will remain on her body.

I bet that the situation is already lighter than what should I've happened if you didn't stop the your dad from beating her so am very proud of that bold step of yours. But I promise you that she will be fine soon, at least within one month she should recover fully and get back on her feet. So what you should worry yourself now about, is the money for her medicines and also the hospital fee" the doctor explained.

" Alright doctor, thanks for everything" Jaden-Lee replied as he walked out from the hospital.

He really needed to work as fast as possible.

As they were still at the hospital, a man came into their mother's ward.

" You are Jaden-Lee, and this is your mother right?" The man asked while pointing at his mother who was laying down on the bed.

" Yes and who are you?" Jaden-lee asked.

" Well, I came to deliver this to your mother," the man replied.

" And what is this?" Jaden-lee asked, looking over at the paper that had been extended to him.

" You should see for yourself" the man replied as Jaden-lee opened the paper then he froze at what he just saw as the paper fell off his hands.

" What is it, Jaden? Why is your face like that? What is written on the paper?" Her mum asked, trying to rise up.

Getting hold of himself again, Jaden-Lee quickly picked pack the paper as he replied,

" It's nothing mum, you should lay down back"

" You can't tell me that is nothing when you react in such an absurd manner like you've just seen a ghost" her mum retorted.

" You really have to stop worrying mum, and believe me" Jaden-Lee replied but her mom couldn't take that as she snatched the papers from him and as soon as she was done reading the content thereabout, she went into cardiac arrest.
