C18 Taking A Disciple

Orik kept fuming and cursing while running but in his heart, he was scared to admit that he had abandoned his leader.

"You are really slow, you know, now get ready to die" James said to scare Orik.

"You.. how did.. where is Nanook " Nanook said after stammering in fear while he took out a black orb with black flames revolving within it.

"Well let's just say, he didn't make it, enough talk about him let's finish this quickly, you have already wasted enough of my time and I always like to be on time" James said calmly to Nanook after seeing the black orb.

"YOU, I WILL KILL YOU!" Orik said while rushing towards James with black flames of rage burning in his eyes.

He tried to punch James but everytime he did, James always blocked or dodged them but he didn't attack back.

"You now for a demon, you are really dumb" James said to enrage him.

"WHAT DID YOU JUST CALL ME!" Orik said with increased anger as he increased the speed of his attacks.

"You abandoned your leader and fled in battle, I wonder how your leader felt when you failed his test" James said with pity as he continously blocked his hits.

"What are you talking about, what test" Orik said as his rage calmed a bit.

"You didn't know, he was testing you when he told you to leave him and go and when you did, I saw his expression change to that of disappointment, so I put him out of his misery" James said as he tried to feel him with grief.

"He did, I.. I thought he was trying to save me.. I didn't know" Orik said with grief as his attacks paused.

Sensing this, James quickly responded with his martial art skill as he bombarded him with punch after punch on the same spot until he blasted a hole in his chest and killed him.

"Sorry pal, life's not fair, poor soul he died with grief" James said as he stared at the look at disbelief on his face before he died while picking up the black rob and placing it in his dimension space.

"Now let's get back so we can open the chests" James said with excitement as he teleported to a distance far away.

At the same moment, in a giant palace somewhere in space, a giant demon titan sat on a large throne with closed eyes as black flames constantly flashes through his nostrils.

" My lord, we have encountered a problem" A demon king said to the demon Titan with fear after entering the palace as he bowed then knelt down on one knee

"What problem have you encountered that requires you to interrupt me" The demon Titan 's loud voice boomed through the whole palace as it trembled under his might.

"My lord, we have lost contact with 3 demon lieutenants and 2 demon soldier including your... son" The demon king said then paused before completing his sentence in a trembling voice.

"WHAT, MOBILIZE ALL THE FORCES ON EARTH AND FIND OUT WHAT HAPPENED!" The demon titan said with rage which caused the demon king's soul to tremble in fear.

"But my lord, the barrier has yet to be breached so we can't attack" The demon king said in fear.

"I DONT CARE, FIND OUT WHAT HAPPENED OR YOU WILL REGRET IT" the demon titan shouted as his rage increased.

" Yes my lord, I will try my best" The demon king said as sweat trickled down his face.

"YOU BETTER OR YOU KNOW WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO YOU, NOW LEAVE ME BEFORE MY ANGER REACHES ITS PEAK AND THE NEXT TIME YOU COME HERE, YOU BETTER BRING ME GOOD NEWS" The demon titan said after calming down.

"Yes my lord" The demon king said then stood up, bowed and left and as he was leaving, he let out a sign of relief.

While they were conversing, the perpetrator was walking back to the city while guessing what he would get from the diamond grade chest.

"Hmm I better disguise myself before entering the city because they already know my face" As he said that he used the mask of deception to change his appearance to that of a middle aged man with normal hair and blue eyes with a good build.

After he reached the gate, he climbed into a flying monster because he didn't want to arouse too much attention with his flying skill.

When he reached the top, he was met with soldiers who looked towards him fearfully but after observing him for a while they let out a sign of relief but they still stared at him warily because of his monster.

"Wow they are still pretty shaken by the battle, I better do something about this" James thought as he observed his expression.

"Who are you and how are you controlling the monster " A soldier said after curiosity overcame him.

"My name is... well, that doesn't matter, I am a beast tamer and that is why I can control the monsters" James said before discovering that he couldn't reveal his name so he quickly dodged the question.

"I have never heard of a beast tamer skill before" Another soldier said to him.

"I know you are suspicious but I come with good intentions otherwise I could wipe all of you out with my army of monsters" James said while releasing a hint of killing intent but that was enough to scare them into shutting up.

"Take me to your leader now" James commanded after realizing that that was the only way that they would listen to him.

"I am the leader of this city, please may I know your reason for coming here" The city lord stepped out from the crowd of soldiers and said with courage but he couldn't hide the fear in his voice.

"Good now I was sent here by my master who you saw fighting with the demon to tell you that you are safe and that this army of monsters will protect you and to also give you this, it will also give you protection" James lied with his acting skill which convinced them instantly while giving the city lord a jade talisman which he bought from the system.

"Thank you beast tamer and also thank your master, I wish we could repay you somehow but everything we have is too weak so we can only offer our thanks" The city lord said with a happy smile while collecting the jade talisman.

"I accept you thanks, the talisman will activate automatically whenever you are in need and alert me and the monsters will listen to your every command so you will be safe from them but do you know why they were here in the first place" James asked with curiosity because he knew that the demons were here for something and that something must be precious for them to send 3 demon lieutenants.

"We have no idea why they were here because we have no precious item in this city" TGE city lord said fearfully as he remembered the battle.

"Okay, I will leave you here now, bye" James said as he turned to leave.

As he was about to leave, he suddenly felt something which caused him to turn his head and as he did, he spotted a figure crouched somewhere in the crowd.

"Hey little one come on out let me see you" James said to the little figure.

When he did all heads turned in the direction of the little figure who came out from the crowd and revealed himself to be a little boy who looked to be 7 or 8 years old.

"What is your name child" James said to the boy with a smile.

"My name is Tom" The little bit said innocently with a smile.

"Hello Tom, when are your parents" James asked curiously.

"My parents died when I was 3 years old so I was adopted by my uncle but he also passed away recently so I live alone" Tom said sadly as he recounted what he had been through.

"I am sorry to hear that Tom, I have a question for you" James said with a smile to cheer him up.

"What question do you have for me mister" Tom said as a spread across his face.

"Okay, Tom will you be my disciple" James asked with a smile in a loud voice so that everyone would hear.
