C23 Seven Challenges

After killing all of them with one sword strike, he went over to the city lord's body and saw a round black object in the ashes so he picked it up and upon close inspection, he realized that it was a medallion with a picture on it but he couldn't see it clearly so he placed it in his dimension space and walked out of the room.

"Now we have a big problem, how do we replace the city lord, his generals and his headguard, I don't have enough clones for this and the ones I have are already busy" James said to the system after picking up the object he had dropped earlier and when he did, the room which had been wrecked from the fight earlier returned back to normal like the fight had never taken place and the bodies had also disappeared.

"Well maybe it will be if I can find out its function" James said as he took out the medallion and studied it.

"Well I didn't have a choice now did I" James said with sarcasm.

"I accept that I might have overreacted but you can't say that you wouldn't do the same in my place" James said to the system in a low voice as he realized that he had indeed been too fast to react but he blamed it all on Rolo who annoyed his so much.

After hearing the systems suggestion, he tried it and surprisingly it worked, when he did, it changed from its dim colour and the picture started to show slightly but before he could see the picture, a bright light suddenly came from the medallion and turned into a doorway.

"This must be the entrance to where they imprisoned the guardian beast" James said before stepping into the doorway which disappeared when he entered.

After stepping through the doorway, he appeared in a huge cave which had strange carvings on its walls which he couldn't understand.

"Where are we, what do these carvings mean" James asked the system as he got near the walls and tried to touch them.

"Ouch, what is this place" James said with pain as he held his hands which been electrified when he touched the wall.

"Do you understand what these means, I can feel pain but I have pain immunity so it means that some of my skills don't work here, what is this place" James said to the system with alarm then bought the skill.

"That's better, it says here, to find your goal, you must first solve 5 challenges, the first challenge is a riddle" James said as he read the words on the wall and as soon as he finished, he heard a clicking sound then the words vanished and new ones appeared.

"What is not alive but grows, does not breath but needs air" James read the new words and he heard another clicking sound then the environment suddenly started becoming colder.

"Damn it, it seems like I need to solve this riddle to move to the next round but what is the answer" James asked himself as he started to shiver from the cold.

"What.. great this is just great, I am going to freeze to death and you can't even help me.. wait, ice, what is not alive but grows, does not breath but needs air, that's right the answer was right in front of me the whole time, FIRE" James shouted with excitement as he heard the clicking sound again and a door appeared at a corner of the room.

He walked through the door and appeared in a pathway when he did, the door closed behind him and a door opened at the other end of the pathway which he entered.

When he passed through it, he immediately appeared in a huge room with several statues at each of its sides separated into three groups, some held bows, others held swords and the last group were empty handed but upon close inspection, he saw several runes on their arms then also saw another statue at his right with a bow with runes on its body that gave him pressure whenever he looked at it.

"What do I have to do here? " James said with annoyance then a platform appeared in from of him with some words.

"To pass this challenge, move to the other side of this room and get the orb of nothingness but beware of where you step, there is danger at each step" James read the words as a hand appeared holding a black orb appeared at the end of the room.

"This is going to be a hard one" James said as he formulated a plan.

[WHY IS THAT, JUST FLY TO THE OTHER SIDE]

"Oh I can do that too" James said as he activated his flying skill and flew to the other side of the room.

"It seems like the solution is always in front of me... whoa" James said with a grin but as he reached half of the distance, the force of gravity suddenly increased and pushed him to ground but fortunately, he was able to stabilize himself in time otherwise he would have landed on the ground.

"That was close, what the hell was that, it seems that it's not as simple as it seems, I need to be alert" James said as he let out a sign of relief then continued moving forward because as time passed, the force of gravity increased.

"Almost there, just a little more" James said with difficulty because he was barely able to keep himself off the ground and a little mistake was all it would take to finish him off.

James crashed into the ground as the force of gravity suddenly increased 10 fold and immediately he touched the ground, the statues eyes glowed red expect for the largest statue as they all turned towards him and the ones holding swords moved towards him with frightening speed, the archers also drew their bows and the last ones which he recognized as mages all started making various symbols with their hands then huge fireballs suddenly appeared over them which they threw towards him.

While the attacks were arriving, James stood still and stared at them then closed his eyes and as the attacks were a few meters away from him, he opened his eyes and then time stopped and his eyes glowed with lightening as he used all his skills on them and then teleported but it seems like the teleport skill was suppressed here because he didn't reach a quarter of the distance and by now time had gone back to normal.

As his attacks touched them, it managed to slow them down but didn't even cause a scratch on them but by now he had almost reached the end of the room.

It was at this moment that the last biggest statue opened it's eyes which glowed dark red as it raised it's bow and nocked an arrow then paused for 3 seconds then released it and before James knew it had already appeared in front of him.

James took out his sword and immediately activated it's two skills to clash with the arrow.

A large explosion occurred when the two skills met the arrow and dust filled the room as the room shook from the shockwaves then a figure flew out of the dust and crashed into the wall.
