Before he could search for it he heard a sound at his back so he turned and that was when he saw the last one only 3 feet away from him with a dagger aimed at his neck.

Even as he was in a near-death situation he still calmed down his mind as he did time slowed down. If it was someone else they would have been distracted by the slowing of time, but James made use of the situation and activated iron fist and placed his hands in front of his neck.

When time went back to normal, James blocked the dagger with his iron fists and grabbed the clone by the neck and lifted him, and twisted his neck which ended its life.

After the fight, he remembered the slowing of time and after thinking for some time he had only figured out the cause.

James was still thinking about it when all the corpses disappeared and the system appeared with the same Smile. "You passed the test with flying colors, I never thought that you would be able to use the martial arts skill without training it before".

"It wasn't that hard to learn because all the skills were already in my head, I only needed to follow the movement" James said to the system.

"I know that you are wondering what the slowing of time was, that was a gift that I prepared for you but I didn't think you would understand the meaning in my words" The system said to James with a knowing look.

It was then that James remembered the advice the system gave him before the battle began."So what happens now?" James asked the system.

"Actually I forgot to explain the rules and the objectives to you at the beginning so now I will, you will be given 20 tests and you just completed 1 so the remaining 19" The system paused.

"After completing every test you will be given rewards that will vary depending on your performance, if you perform very well in all the tests you will be given an extra reward at the end of the tests, if you have any questions ask now" The system said after dollar time.

"Yes I do have a question, if I die here will I die in reality or will I fail the mission" James asked the system after thinking.

"You will not die but you only have 3 chances to perform a mission and if you fail all three times you will fail the mission, that is why I said depending on your performance, and if you don't have any more questions, good luck, oh you will receive your reward in the mission" After talking the system disappeared and the scenery changed into that of a city.

After the system finished, James heard screams and ran to the city but what met him was an iron gate and two guards.

He walked to one of the guards and acted as if he was hurt as he spoke but he secretly used inspect on them and the result caused him to smile. The two guards were peak rank 2 espers so James was relieved because if they were at rank 3 then the monster king would be at rank 5.

" I am a traveler who just escaped from a monster horde heading in this direction so can I please rest in this town" James said pitifully he could not help but click his tongue at his good acting but the guard's next words made his heart sink.

The two guards looked at each other and one of them said to James. "You shouldn't be just a traveler since you were able to escape a beast horde without sustaining any serious injuries"

'Damn it why ate they do smart, I really need to work on my lies" James thought. "yes you ate right I awakened a medium-grade wind talent so I was able to outrun them, I didn't want to tell you that before so that you would not view me as a threat " James said normally without showing any signs of a lie.

"Ok you can come in but you should have told us that first, after resting we will take you to the city lord to narrate your story" The second guard said after some time and then led James into the city.

As he was being led into the city he thought to himself 'What the hell just happened'. He was surprised because as the guard asked the question, he suddenly responded automatically as if he had already rehearsed it several times and the way he answered it without any fear left him wondering if he had an acting skill.

In a deep forest, there were two level 50 scorpions fighting against an old man who rained punch after punch with lightning speed on the scorpion kings who couldn't even retaliate. Before long they were both killed after sustaining several hits to their thick and hard carapace, from this it could be seen the strength of the old man.

After killing them the old man plunged his hand into their skulls and pulled out two shining cores and leaped onto a tree to absorb them.

As he was absorbing the energy within the cores he suddenly glanced in a certain direction and disappeared. Immediately after he disappeared a huge scorpion appeared and looked around but didn't see anyone as it was about to leave, a black flame suddenly appeared in the sky and landed which created a large crater on the ground.

"At last I Terra shall rise once more and bring glory to the demon emperor" A loud voice sounded from the crater and the figure of a demon gradually appeared.

When the demon came out and saw the scorpion king which was frozen on the spot out of fear, it pointed at the scorpion and said with a smile " A little ant in my path, you will be my first prey" As it said that a black flame gradually condensed at the tip of its finger and shot towards the scorpion.

Immediately it touched the body of the scorpion, the scorpion suddenly went up in flames when the flames quenched there wasn't even a piece of the scorpion left. When the old man saw this he started trembling in fear but he quickly froze because the demon had turned to face him.

The demon raised his hand and pointed to the old man with a smile and a dark flame gradually condensed on his finger. As he saw this he tried to move but he found that he was frozen and as he was struggling, the dark flame shot towards him.
