C20 I'm a Doctor!

Lee Yifann flashed a casual smile. "You should count your lucky stars that I'm a doctor, buddy. Otherwise, that fit might've been curtains for you!"

"I..." Zhou Ming stammered, finding the idea that Lee Yifann was a doctor hard to swallow.

I told you guys that Yifann was a doctor, but none of you believed me! You believe me now, huh?" Wang Cuifen chimed in, grinning.

"We believe you now," Chen Hua conceded, chuckling.

Wang Cuifen rolled her eyes, clearly miffed. "You guys were pretty sure earlier that Yifan wasn't a doctor but a con man and that he'd fooled me."

Gao Jun and the others looked downright sheepish. They remembered how hard they'd come down on Lee Yifann, calling him a fraud, laying on the sarcasm and digs.

Especially Zhou Ming; he was red-faced and at a total loss. He'd been cussing Lee Yifann and spewing ugly words. Now he felt downright awkward, not knowing what to do or say.

Lee Yifann glanced at him. "Your condition hasn't fully stabilized yet. Those silver needles in you need to stay in for another ten minutes."

Zhou Ming blushed deeper. "Why did you save me?"

"I'm a doctor," Lee Yifann answered nonchalantly.

"But... I was ragging on you something fierce, and you still saved me? Ain't you ticked off?" Zhou Ming couldn't wrap his head around it. The words he'd spat out were downright nasty. If someone had laid into him like that, he would've been so steamed he would have stormed off, never mind playing the hero and saving someone.

Lee Yifann's face remained calm. "I'm a doctor. My job's to save people."

"You don't mind me badmouthing you?" Zhou Ming was incredulous, wondering if Lee Yifann pretended not to care.

Lee Yifann looked at him earnestly. "You're the patient; I'm the doc. It's as simple as that."

He was a doctor; saving lives was his calling.

No matter what, he wouldn't stand by and let a patient die.

Holding grudges, and judging the character of his patients, wasn't his gig.

Zhou Ming's face turned beet red, and he hung his head in shame. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have talked to you like that..."

He finally realized that Lee Yifann genuinely didn't hold a grudge.

From start to finish, Lee Yifann hadn't been petty. He had a big heart and had taken the high road, brushing off Zhou Ming's insults like water off a duck's back.

Thinking back to what he had just done, Zhou Ming felt his face burning hot, almost wishing he could vanish on the spot.

What on earth had he done? He acted like a total jerk!

The other teachers, seeing Zhou Ming's state, couldn't help but shake their heads in sympathy. Zhou Ming had come to realize his mistake.

In truth, he wasn't a bad guy at heart, just a bit petty and sharp-tongued. But he was a good person, harsh in words but soft in nature.

"Thanks for saving me!" Zhou Ming said, his face flushed, expressing genuine gratitude to Lee Yifann.

"It's all in a day's work..." Lee Yifann began, but then his eyes shifted. He saw a faint golden glow rising from Zhou Ming's head, flying towards him, finally settling in his mind.

"Karma's power?" he murmured, momentarily stunned, the fundamental principles of the Medical Saint Scripture suddenly flashing across his mind.

The Medical Saint Scripture was a blend of medicine and martial arts, and saving lives was considered a highly virtuous deed, capable of generating karmic virtue.

Ancient practitioners often used healing as a pathway to spiritual growth, as it allowed them to understand the human body's mysteries, deepening their understanding of martial arts and accelerating their training.

The advancement in the medical path could also help them build up energy, boosting their martial arts prowess. The two paths complemented each other, enhancing their spiritual cultivation and speeding up their progress simultaneously.

Lee Yifann's family had created the Medical Saint Scripture based on Karmic virtue's power.

Successful healing, coupled with sincere gratitude from the patient's family, would generate this power, strengthening the practitioner's consciousness.

When a spiritual cultivator reached the advanced stages of their training, the role of their Spiritual Sense became more significant. Whether they were grappling with deeper understanding of their realm or navigating through a mystical Heavenly Tribulation, a robust Spiritual Sense was essential.

"So this is karmic virtue's power? No wonder the Medical Saint Scripture is so extraordinary," he thought, still amazed by what he'd witnessed.

Through healing and saving lives, Lee Yifann could enhance his training. Even though he'd understood it from the Medical Saint Scripture, seeing it first-hand was astonishing.

This was his maiden rescue after he began practicing the Medical Saint Scripture, and the first time he'd tapped into the mysterious Power of Karma.

Collecting himself, Lee Yifann looked at Principal Gao: "Principal, you believe I'm a doctor now, right?"

"I believe you!" Principal Gao quickly nodded, expressing admiration. "Who would've thought? You're so young, but your medical skills are top-notch! I misspoke earlier, and if I offended you, don't take it to heart."

"Principal, you're my elder, and scolding me is your right," Lee Yifann said with humble politeness, smiling. "Besides, I'm a doctor. If I can't handle a little doubt, how can I expect patients to trust me?"

"You got that right!" Principal Gao burst into laughter, clearly pleased with the response.

If he'd found Lee Yifann distasteful before, now he was warming up to the guy, seeing more and more promise in the young man.

"Brother Yifann, you're the real deal!" Wang Xiaozhi exclaimed, his face splitting into a huge grin.

Lee Yifann grinned at Principal Gao Jun and said, "Principal, I can give you my word that Xiaozhi's all patched up. The kid's healthy and raring to get back to school. We are all good here, right?"

"No problem!" Gao Jun strolled over, chuckling, and ruffled Wang Xiaozhi's hair. "At first, I didn't want the little guy to come back to class. I was worried that if he hadn't fully kicked the illness and something happened, the school would be in hot water. But now that he's all patched up, of course he can come back to class!"

Hearing this, Wang Cuifen breathed a sigh of relief, flashing a beaming smile: "Great! My boy can finally get back to school. Thanks, Principal!"

Wang Xiaozhi clapped his tiny hands, all smiles: "Thank you, Principal! Yifann, big bro, thank you..."

Principal Gao Jun glanced at Chen Hua: "Dean Chen, why don't you sort out the details? Talk to them about what grade Little Wang should be in."

"Will do! Thanks, Principal!" Wang Cuifen repeated her thanks.

After a bit of back-and-forth, Chen Hua slotted Wang Xiaozhi into the fourth grade. Sure, he was a tad older than his classmates, but it didn't make a lick of difference.

The kid had fought a serious illness and came out on top; getting back to school was the cherry on top.

He could finally live a regular kid's life, hitting the books like everyone else.
