C13 Let Him Take Care of You!

The night was calm as Gu Luo entered Tianyi's room, carrying a glass of milk. Tianyi glanced at him coldly, ignoring his presence.

It seemed she was still upset with him. He walked over, placed the milk on the nightstand, and asked, "Sister, are you still mad at your brother?"

Tianyi huffed, turning her back on him, clearly unwilling to engage.

Seeing her reaction, Gu Luo's face showed a hint of frustration. He said, "I'm leaving for a business trip tomorrow. You won't see your brother for quite a while. Are you sure you don't want to give me a smile?"

"A business trip?" Tianyi asked, puzzled. "Where to? Why so suddenly?"

Gu Luo took a sip of the milk and sighed, "It is a bit sudden. It was originally planned for next month, but it got moved up."

Tianyi rolled her eyes and snatched the milk from his hand, complaining, "Wasn't this milk for me? Why are you drinking it?"

She took a big gulp, then raised the glass and said, "Well, I wish you a safe trip, brother."

Gu Luo smiled, "Finally, you're talking to me."

After a pause, he continued, "It's not the trip that worries me; it's leaving you alone."

Tianyi, still drinking the milk, grumbled, "What's there to worry about? I'm not a kid anymore. I can take care of myself."

Gu Luo affectionately reached out to ruffle Tianyi's hair, his face full of warmth. "But in your brother's eyes, you'll always be a kid."

Tianyi, a bit exasperated by Gu Luo's sentimentality, pushed his hand away and said seriously, "I've grown up, brother. I've grown up."

"Alright, alright," Gu Luo smiled. "But I still worry, so I've asked Ze to look after you."

Hearing Gu Luo mention Ze, Tianyi's smile immediately faded. She didn't want to hear that name or think about that person.

"Brother, don't worry about me. I know how to take care of myself. You don't need to trouble anyone else."

Gu Luo seemed determined to go against Tianyi, despite her making her feelings quite clear. Yet, Gu Luo acted as if he didn't understand.

"I don't think Dongfang Ze is an outsider," Gu Luo said earnestly.

His words struck a nerve with Tianyi, making her quite upset. "Brother, I'm telling you, can you not bring up that person? Just hearing his name makes me irritated. I..."

"Tianyi," Gu Luo suddenly turned serious. "I'm being sincere."

After a pause, Gu Luo continued, "I've arranged several gatherings for you, and you haven't taken a liking to anyone. I can't help but feel that you still have feelings for Dongfang Ze."

Even though Gu Luo had seen through Tianyi's feelings, she wasn't about to admit it. She couldn't let go of Dongfang Ze, but so what? She couldn't be with him. She didn't want to think about him. They were destined to be parallel lines, never crossing, so she didn't even want to give herself the chance to look from afar.

"Brother, you should worry about yourself," Tianyi said, a bit impatiently, grabbing Gu Luo's hand. "You should focus on your own future. As for mine, you don't need to worry."

"I know how to handle my own affairs," Gu Luo replied seriously. "I'm being honest here. I don't think Dongfang Ze has moved on either. Maybe you two should give it another shot."

Starting over sounded simple, but in reality, it was anything but easy.
