C17 No Longer Want to See Him!
As soon as Ze arrived at the karaoke bar, he spotted Ann and Tianyi standing in the hallway. Just as he was about to approach them, he overheard Ann asking Tianyi if she still had feelings for him.
Ze immediately stopped in his tracks, curious about the answer to that question. If she admitted she still cared, he might just consider giving her another chance.
Tianyi rubbed her forehead, feeling a familiar pang at the mention of Ze. Just thinking about him made her uncomfortable.
With a dismissive snort, Tianyi said, "Ze is all show and no substance, a real snake in the grass. There's no way I'd still be hung up on him. I'd rather never see him again."
Recalling the torment Ze had put her through, Tianyi's anger flared, prompting her harsh words.
Ann, noticing her friend's fury, quickly changed the subject. "Let's head inside. Everyone's waiting for us."
Tianyi nodded, hoping that after her moment of calm outside, the group's earlier excitement would have settled down a bit.
Standing in the corner, Ze had heard every word Tianyi said. Did she really think so little of him? His hands clenched into fists, his heart simmering with anger, though his face remained calm.
Nearby, Yi asked with concern, "Are you alright, sir?"
Ze shot Yi a cold glance that instantly silenced him, leaving him frozen in place.
Back in the room, Tianyi showed no hesitation. This time, she walked straight over to sit beside Changming. Raising her glass, she said softly, "To you, Senior Brother Xu."
Changming held his glass, looking at Tianyi, unsure of her intentions. But her gesture of toasting him brought a smile to his face.
The clinking of glasses echoed as Tianyi took a deep sip. She leaned in and whispered, "Changming, it's flattering that you like me, but I'm sorry, I can't accept your feelings."
She tried to keep her voice as low as possible, tilting her head slightly toward Xu Changming. Although she was turning him down, from a distance, their posture seemed somewhat intimate, like a couple in love.
Xu Changming felt disheartened, but he wasn't ready to give up. He earnestly told Tianyi, "I'm serious about you. It's okay if you reject me now, but I'll do my best to win you over. I believe one day you'll accept me."
Tianyi felt helpless against such determination, knowing further explanations wouldn't change his mind. She didn't press the issue, instead swirling her wine glass, her brow furrowed. In her brother's eyes, and in Anan's, she was becoming an old maid. If she didn't find someone to marry soon, they'd keep setting her up on blind dates, a thought that filled her with dread.
As she lifted her glass to take another sip of wine, the door to the private room opened, and in walked Dongfang Ze, the last person she wanted to see. Startled, Tianyi's hand shook, causing the wine to spill onto her white dress, staining it a deep red. The once pristine lace now stood out starkly.
