C2 He Really Was so Small
Tianyi's voice was loud, but it had little effect; Dongfang Ze was entirely unfazed. Instead, he swiftly reached out and grabbed her shirt, the ripping sound was jarring. By the time Tianyi realized what had happened, her shoulder was exposed to the cool air.
“Dongfang Ze, please don’t do this, okay?” Her earlier angry threats quickly turned into a plea for mercy.
Dongfang Ze held her shoulder, his tone finally softening a bit. “Are you still going to run?”
“No, I won’t run,” she promised him, thinking it was best to play along for now. She figured if she could get through this, brighter days were surely ahead.
The sly look in her eyes didn’t escape Dongfang Ze. He leaned in slowly, whispering in her ear, “Even if you don’t run, I won’t let you go.”
From the room came the occasional sound of a woman’s scream, leaving the guards outside unsure of how to react.
Bright sunlight streamed into the room. Morning had arrived. Gu Tianyi squinted at the window, then turned over, hoping to catch a bit more sleep. Suddenly, it hit her—she wasn’t at home; this was Dongfang Ze’s place.
The events of the previous day replayed in her mind like a movie. She sat up abruptly. She and Dongfang Ze...
Feeling a chill, she looked down at her unclothed self, her face flushing red. Dongfang Ze, that jerk, how could he treat her like this? She had avoided him for a year, yet in the end, she couldn’t escape.
The room was a mess, clothes torn to shreds and scattered everywhere. Last night, Dongfang Ze had been too intense, it was overwhelming.
She glanced around and saw he wasn’t there. Quickly throwing on the tattered remains of her clothes, she made a swift escape.
Tianyi originally thought escaping from Dongfang Ze's sprawling estate would be a daunting task, but to her surprise, it was astonishingly easy. Dongfang Ze didn't even try to stop her; he just let her leave.
As she stepped out of the estate's gates, Tianyi held onto a faint hope that Dongfang Ze might appear, especially after what had happened between them the night before. But he didn't show up. She waited outside the gates for half an hour before leaving, disappointed.
What did he take her for? After a night of chaos, he just pretended nothing happened? She felt played. Her hands slowly clenched into fists. Did he really think she was someone he could toy with so easily?
She wouldn't let him get away with it. No way.
Three days later, Tianyi couldn't stop laughing as she looked at the doll in front of her. It was a replica of Dongfang Ze, based on a design she had drawn, intentionally shrinking certain features.
"Let's see how you like it when everyone else gets to mock you," she chuckled. The doll was set to hit the market the next day, and the thought of every girl in town holding a Dongfang Ze doll was immensely satisfying to her.
Anan came in with a bowl of porridge, calling out, "Tianyi, you must be hungry. I made some porridge for you. Hurry and eat."
Tianyi snapped out of her daydreams and was about to put the doll away when Anan grabbed it first.
Holding the Dongfang Ze doll, Anan looked puzzled, "Tianyi, is Dongfang Ze really that small?"
