C7 Because He Didn't Love Her

Under his gaze, she swallowed her humiliation and picked up the clothes from the floor, putting them on piece by piece. Facing the full-length mirror, she looked at her reflection—long, wavy hair cascading over her shoulders, her face pale, eyes blurred with tears.

"Dongfang Ze, if I tell you why I left on our wedding night a year ago, will you let me go?" She wanted no more entanglements with him, so she needed his promise now.

"What do you mean?"

Tianyi slowly turned around, facing Dongfang Ze, and spoke deliberately, "I want you to never have anything to do with me again. It would be best if you never appeared in front of me."

Her words were resolute and cold, provoking Dongfang Ze's nerves. If he could have done it, he wouldn't have waited a year. In South City, countless women wanted to be with Dongfang Ze, yet he refused to look at anyone else.

Dongfang Ze quickly stepped in front of Tianyi, gripping her shoulders. His voice was cold as he demanded, "Tell me, what is the reason?"

"Because I realized I don't love you anymore," Tianyi said with certainty. "Yes, I don't love you anymore."

In the realm of love, nothing breaks a person more than the absence of love. Because she didn't love him, she left on their wedding night. To make Dongfang Ze give up, her words were icy: "That wedding, though grand, was something I endured with disgust. The thought that I didn't love you made the whole thing repulsive."

Dongfang Ze's brow furrowed, and the next moment, he pushed Tianyi away. His strength wasn't great, but she was caught off guard, falling backward heavily onto the floor.

The fall hurt, but she didn't dare make a sound. The room's temperature seemed to drop, and Tianyi kept her head down, not daring to meet Dongfang Ze's eyes.

"Gu Tianyi, do you really find it so disgusting?"

He poured his heart into that wedding, designing it just for her. From the ceremony's flow to the decorations and every little detail, he was meticulous. He wanted her to have a wedding she would never forget. But to her, his efforts seemed revolting.

Feeling furious, he shouted coldly at Tianyi, "Get out and never show your face to me again. I don't want to see you anymore."

Tianyi felt miserable. Even though she achieved her goal, she couldn't find any joy in it. She wasn't sure if leaving him would lead to the happiness she imagined. She just didn't know.

Feeling down, she had no reason to linger. Supporting herself on the floor, she tried to stand up, but before she could leave the room, he was already gone.

She stood silently in the room filled with memories of them, then took out her phone to capture a photo for remembrance. As she walked out the door, she whispered softly, "Goodbye, Dongfang Ze."

She hoped he would be well and find happiness. Her heart ached, knowing that Dongfang Ze and the grand estate would no longer have anything to do with her.

With her head down, she walked, her mind filled with his disappointed expression, which pierced her deeply. But now, there was nothing she could do.

Feeling low, she pushed open the door to Anan's home. Waiting for her wasn't Anan, but her brother, Gu Luo.

Gu Luo looked at Tianyi warmly and said, "Tianyi, I'm here to take you home."
