C8 Bring You to the Blind Date!
Tianyi nodded, quickly gathering her things, and said goodbye to Anan.
As Gu Luo drove, he asked, "I originally asked Dongfang Ze to look after you. Didn't he pick you up? Why were you at Anan's place?"
Hearing Dongfang Ze's name made Tianyi feel a pang of discomfort.
"Brother, can you please not mention him anymore? I don't want to know anything about him."
Gu Luo glanced at Tianyi, his heart aching, and nodded. "Alright, I won't bring him up again. But you should think about your future. How about I set you up on a date?"
Gu Luo was serious, but Tianyi found the idea of a blind date amusing.
She, Gu Tianyi, was naturally beautiful, came from a great background, and was highly capable. Did she really need to go on a blind date?
Tianyi scoffed at the idea, but her brother, who doted on her, thought it was necessary.
"I'm hosting a party the day after tomorrow. Why don't you come with me? I promise all the men there are top-notch. You won't be disappointed."
"Enough, brother." Tianyi rolled her eyes at Gu Luo, clearly annoyed. "I'm not going. I'm not interested in blind dates."
"Then just come for fun," Gu Luo persisted. "You've just returned to the country. Don't stay cooped up at home. It's good to make new friends."
Tianyi understood that Gu Luo meant she had to go, whether she wanted to or not.
Unable to refuse, she reluctantly agreed, "Fine, I'll check it out."
Even though Dongfang Ze's collectibles had sold for thirty million, giving Tianyi some spending money, Gu Luo still thought she needed more and handed her a no-limit credit card.
"Brother, I have money," Tianyi said proudly. "I just made thirty million."
Gu Luo was aware of this and gave her a stern look. "Don't joke about things like that in the future. It might upset Ze."
The three of them had grown up together, and if Tianyi hadn't dated Dongfang Ze, the two families would have remained on good terms.
Their failed romance had strained the relationship between the two families. However, when Gu Luo mentioned Ze, he was still relatively calm, as Ze had been a close friend for many years.
"Brother, he was the one who started..." Tianyi stopped mid-sentence, choosing not to continue.
Why bring up Ze now after their complete fallout? From now on, she wanted nothing to do with him in her life.
Gu Luo furrowed his brow, sensing something as he asked, "He bullied you? When did that happen?"
"Oh, come on, can we not talk about him?" Tianyi pleaded.
Gu Luo paused, deciding not to press further. Instead, he turned his attention back to advising Tianyi, "In the future, don't launch unreliable products. The company has invested a lot of effort for you. Do you know that Ze spent millions to recall the dolls you released? He took quite a hit financially, you know?"
Tianyi hadn't realized this.
Despite her earlier reluctance to mention Ze, Gu Luo's words piqued her curiosity.
She cautiously asked, "So, if I caused Ze to lose so much money, do you think he'll retaliate against me?"
Before Gu Luo could respond, Tianyi clung to his arm, pleading, "Brother, if he does come after me, you have to help me. I'm your only sister. If anything happens to me, you wouldn't be able to live with it, right?"
