Nathan’s smile faded as he stepped closer, his piercing gaze locked onto mine.

“Why are you so quiet? than I expected,” he said, his voice smooth but laced with mockery. “Tell me, Emma, how much do you actually know about the man you married?”

“I know enough,” I replied, refusing to let him intimidate me.
