C13 Do You Still Have Shi Qing in Your Heart?
Under the warm glow of well-wishes, Wanwan felt a bit tipsy as she held onto Sinian and approached Shi Qing, casting a glance at the man beside her, Gu Chengxi.
"I hear this is your new boyfriend? Didn't expect you to move faster than us, Miss Shi," she remarked, subtly observing Sinian's reaction. Only when she saw his calm demeanor did she feel at ease.
Chengxi smoothly picked up the conversation, casually wrapping an arm around Shi Qing's shoulders, and replied with a smile, "Qing and I hit it off right away, so things moved quickly. I have to thank Director Lu for not holding on, or else I might never have met such a wonderful woman."
Sinian watched the couple's affectionate display with a twinge of discomfort, though he didn't show it. "No problem. I'm just curious about what you do for a living, Mr. Gu. Shi Qing is used to a certain lifestyle, and I'm not sure if you can provide what she wants."
Even Sinian was surprised by his own words, but he couldn't help but feel the urge to jab whenever he saw Shi Qing smile at another man.
The two women stood aside as Chengxi responded graciously, "I'm an artist, though I can't compete with Director Lu's wealth." He turned to Shi Qing with a gentle gaze, "But whatever Qing wants, I'd go to the ends of the earth to give it to her."
Shi Qing and Gu Chengxi exchanged a glance and shared a knowing smile, silently applauding his impressive acting skills.
Their eyes locked in a way that seemed inseparable, and Lu Sinian felt a growing sense of discomfort. It had been ages since Shi Qing had smiled at him like that.
Soong Wanwan noticed his unease. Knowing Lu Sinian well, she thought that if he had truly moved on, he wouldn't be saying such things. It seemed Shi Qing was indeed a tough one to deal with.
With a playful laugh, she clung tightly to Lu Sinian's arm and looked at Shi Qing. "I'm sure you'll find happiness just like Sinian and I have."
Shi Qing wasn't one to back down. She intertwined her fingers with Gu Chengxi's, her face flushed with shyness. "Of course. Meeting Chengxi made me realize that true love is worth the wait. The past flings were just passing phases."
Her demeanor was no different from a girl deeply in love, and when she mentioned "past flings," her gaze naturally shifted to Lu Sinian.
Everyone present knew exactly who Shi Qing was referring to, and Lu Sinian's expression turned sour. He could barely contain his irritation. How had he never noticed how captivating Shi Qing could be?
He abruptly let go of Soong Wanwan's hand, cast one last glance at the couple practically glued together, and quickly walked away.
Soong Wanwan was momentarily stunned, so she quickly apologized and, in her high heels, jogged off to catch up with someone.
"Your ex-husband..." Gu Chengxi paused, choosing his words carefully, "is quite something."
Shi Qing wasn't bothered. The purpose of attending the event was fulfilled, and there was no reason to stay. After consulting with Gu Chengxi, they both headed back to Scenery Villa.

"Sinian! Wait for me," Soong Wanwan called as she jogged to catch up with Lu Sinian, who was about to leave.
He turned around impatiently as she tugged at his sleeve, his brows furrowed tightly.
Shen Yi, who was opening the car door, suddenly felt out of place. He tentatively asked Lu Sinian, "Director Lu, should I wait over there?"
"No need," Lu Sinian replied coolly, then looked down at Soong Wanwan. "I'm tired and need to rest."
His cold demeanor broke her heart, and tears started to fall. She didn't care that Shen Yi was there; she clung to Lu Sinian's sleeve, her grip both humble and cautious.
"Sinian, are you... are you still upset with me?"
Lu Sinian sighed and gently removed her hand from his sleeve. "I'm not upset, but pulling me on stage without a heads-up today wasn't okay. Let's not do that again. You should head home."
With that, Lu Sinian turned to get in the car. His indifference was a sharp blow to Soong Wanwan, and she couldn't hold back any longer. She shouted, "Is Shi Qing in your heart?!"
Lu Sinian paused for a moment, but then he got into the car and drove away. This small action left Soong Wanwan utterly devastated, her laughter and tears echoing through the empty parking lot.
