C2 Lu Sinian Get a Divorce!
Shi Qing was breathing heavily, while the person on top of her seemed to be calming down after a bout of intensity. Lu Sinian gently caressed the beauty mark beneath her left eye, his gaze filled with deep affection. She knew that Lu Sinian adored this enchanting mark of hers.
As she was lost in thought, a tender kiss landed on that very spot, as if he were kissing something sacred and precious. Shi Qing couldn't resist his gentle touch and completely surrendered to the moment.
When the buttons of her pajama top were being undone, Shi Qing snapped back to reality. They were in the living room, and the house staff might pass by at any moment. She struggled to get up, but Lu Sinian held her firmly in place.
His voice, rich with desire, whispered, "Don't move."
"No... we can't... this is the living room," Shi Qing protested, pushing against his chest. But then she turned her head and noticed a suit jacket on the floor.
Somehow, the jacket had fallen, and an old black wallet had slipped out. From where she was, Shi Qing could clearly see a photo inside. The girl in the picture was smiling radiantly, but it wasn't her.
Shi Qing felt her blood run cold as she strained to recognize the person in the photo. It was Soong Wanwan, the international movie star who had just returned to the country.
She didn't know where she found the strength, but she shoved the man off her and, as if defying fate, ran to pick up the wallet from the floor.
Shi Qing wasn't mistaken; it really was the Soong Wanwan from her youth.
A bitter smile crossed her face as she finally understood why Lu Sinian would get so upset whenever she accidentally picked up this old wallet and why he would snatch it away. It held his treasures. She also realized why Lu Sinian was always so rough during their intimate moments, except when he kissed that tear-shaped mole. Soong Wanwan had the exact same mole at the corner of her left eye.
Behind her, Lu Sinian was mumbling something, but Shi Qing felt deaf to it all; she only heard the sound of her heart breaking.
"Didn't you hear me ask for a glass of water?" Lu Sinian lounged on the couch like a king, only opening his eyes when no one answered. He saw Shi Qing's back trembling uncontrollably.
He got up and approached her, his tone impatient. "What's with the shaking?"
It wasn't until he stood in front of her that he noticed her face was streaked with tears, her eyes red like a rabbit's as she stared at him.
Shi Qing thought she had grown used to his tone, but at that moment, the sadness was suffocating. Before she left the industry, people used to joke and call her "Little Wanwan" because of the similar mole and slight resemblance to Soong Wanwan. She never imagined she'd become a stand-in for Soong Wanwan both on and off the stage.
The atmosphere in the living room was eerily silent. Lu Sinian noticed the black wallet in her hand. In the past, he would have snatched it away or confidently told Shi Qing, "Yes, you're just a stand-in. The real one is back, so you can leave."
But her tears, falling steadily, struck something deep within him, stirring an unfamiliar feeling he couldn't quite place.
Just then, a ringtone shattered the awkwardness—it was Lu Sinian's phone. He cursed under his breath, wondering who could be so inconsiderate. The moment he pulled out his phone, both he and Shi Qing froze.
The screen displayed the name "Wanwan."
Shi Qing let out a self-deprecating laugh. Even the meticulous Lu Sinian had such an affectionate contact name saved.
Lu Sinian didn't answer the call. Instead, he tossed the phone onto the dining table nearby. "Shi Qing, we're both adults. Let's not act like we can't handle this. You know how our marriage came to be."
Can't handle it? Shi Qing thought to herself, maybe she really couldn't. Marrying Lu Sinian wasn't enough; she foolishly waited for him to love her.
But today's events had been a wake-up call. The real Shi Qing wasn't someone who couldn't handle the truth.
Lu Sinian watched her, wondering if he should soften his words and try to comfort her. After all, Shi Qing loved him so much; maybe a little reassurance would prevent further conflict.
"Shi Qing..."
"Lu Sinian, let's get a divorce."
