C6 Help Her Take Care of Lu Sinian

The clock struck seven, and Shi Qing received another message from Qiao Jing reminding her to come over. She replied with a simple, "Got it."

The evening was still quite chilly, so she changed into warmer clothes before heading out. When she arrived at the location Qiao Jing had sent, Shi Qing realized it was actually a party. As she walked in, she was greeted by the sight of elegantly dressed young men and women.

"Hey, darling! Over here!" Qiao Jing called out to her from a distance.

Shi Qing made her way over, but before she could reach Qiao Jing, she ran into someone she wasn't keen on seeing. She was surprised to find Soong Wanwan there. Unlike the last time she saw her at the Imperial View Garden, tonight Wanwan was wearing a stunning black Dior gown, her hair elegantly styled up, with only a simple diamond necklace as an accessory.

Despite being a former rival, Shi Qing couldn't deny that Soong Wanwan was beautiful. After all, not just anyone could become a renowned international movie star before turning thirty.

Following Shi Qing's gaze, Qiao Jing spotted Soong Wanwan and commented, "Seriously? How do we keep running into her?"

Shi Qing shrugged it off. She and Lu Sinian were divorced, and these people were no longer part of her life. "If we run into her, we run into her. It's got nothing to do with us."

Seeing Shi Qing so unfazed, Qiao Jing let it go and led her to a couch on the side. "Let me tell you, I know most of the handsome guys here tonight. If you fancy anyone, just let me know, and I'll make it happen!" Qiao Jing said, patting her chest confidently, as if assuring Shi Qing she could be trusted to get things done.

Shi Qing smiled slightly and said, "Come on, who knows how many of your ex-boyfriends are in there?"

That's right, Qiao Jing was the legendary "serial dater." She once changed boyfriends twelve times in a year, moving through relationships without getting attached. Some even joked she was trying to collect all twelve zodiac signs.

"Hey, don't ruin my reputation like that. My heart just shattered into many pieces, and each piece fell for someone different," Qiao Jing defended herself confidently.

Shi Qing couldn't argue with her, so she just went along, "Yeah, yeah, you're just trying to give every guy a home."

Pretending to be upset, Qiao Jing playfully started a mock fight with Shi Qing.

"Miss Shi, I didn't expect to see you here."

As they were laughing and joking around, Soong Wanwan appeared in front of them.

The moment Qiao Jing saw her, she stopped smiling and spoke coldly, "What brings you here, superstar?"

Her attitude changed so quickly that even Shi Qing almost didn't catch up.

Soong Wanwan wasn't bothered by her demeanor and turned to Shi Qing, "Miss Shi, could we talk in private?"

"Shi Qing has nothing to say to you. You can leave now," Qiao Jing retorted, unwilling to back down.

Shi Qing tugged at Qiao Jing's sleeve and said, "Why don't you go have some fun? I'll talk to her."

Pouting, Qiao Jing reluctantly walked away.

"Please, have a seat, Miss Soong," Shi Qing said graciously, inviting Soong Wanwan to sit down.

Soong Wanwan smiled and took the seat that Qiao Jing had just vacated. At that moment, a waiter arrived with drinks. Soong Wanwan picked up two glasses from the tray and handed one to Shi Qing.

Shi Qing waved her hand. "Sorry, I don't drink."

Seeing this, Soong Wanwan asked the waiter to bring an orange juice for Shi Qing instead. She gently swirled her wine glass and took a sip.

"Miss Shi, I really want to thank you."

Shi Qing tried a sip of the orange juice. It was too sour for her taste, so she set the glass down and raised an eyebrow at Soong Wanwan. "Oh? Why's that?"

"When I went abroad, I heard that Sinian had changed a lot. I'm grateful you were there to look after him. Even though you two were married for a while, I don't mind. I think you're a great person," Soong Wanwan said casually.

Shi Qing, however, found the idea of "looking after" him amusing, almost like a joke.

"If you're here to tell me how deep your bond with Lu Sinian is, there's no need. We finalized our divorce today, so you're free to marry him anytime," Shi Qing replied with an air of nonchalance, though she couldn't deny a slight pang in her heart.

After all, she's only human, with emotions like anyone else.

Soong Wanwan seemed insulted, her eyes reddening. "I know you might blame me, but feelings are complicated. I'll wait until you're ready to let go before marrying Sinian."

"It's none of my business, and I'll only say this once: don't act like this in front of me, it's pointless." Shi Qing found it amusing; compared to those heated arguments, Soong Wanwan's subtle jabs were far more lethal.

Soong Wanwan began to sob quietly, instantly drawing the attention of those around them. Shi Qing could even hear their whispered conversations.

"I heard Soong Wanwan was Lu Sinian's first love. Now that she's back, that Shi woman is probably getting kicked to the curb, right?"

"Most likely. A friend of mine said they've already divorced. Looks like Lu Sinian couldn't forget his first love after all. They've only been back a couple of days, and they're already divorced."
