CHAPTER 5: HOT EMOTIONS

It was already 6:00 in the morning when Alyssa got up first in bed while her husband was still sleeping. She couldn’t sleep so well because of the fear she felt towards her husband.

She even dreams that her husband strangles her in the neck. Her eyes got swollen as she was crying incessantly last night. She went to the bathroom to wash up her face. She needed to go outside to look for his car to search for her luggage.

She opened the door of their room and looked around with the thought that she might spot someone who was already awake for her to ask. She didn’t see anyone, so she continued walking downstairs. Even in the living room, she sees nothing.

She heard someone in the kitchen, so she went there to know who was there. She has this thought that maybe Leonard hired a maid in his house.

Upon reaching the kitchen, she was stunned by what she saw. It was not the maid cooking but a handsome young man. It’s the man who handed her a handkerchief at her wedding. She couldn’t even move because of shock until the man turned at her. “Oh, you’re awake. Come here, let’s eat.” He said, smiling at her.

She tried to move her body, but she couldn’t. It felt like it was freezing. The man’s forehead furrowed at her, seeing her in shock and not moving at all nor uttered some words. “Why does it seem like you have seen a ghost?”

“A-Aren’t you the man who handed me the handkerchief?” Alyssa stuttered, pointing her index finger towards the man.

The man smiled at her again and went closer to her. “Should I introduce myself to you? My name is Ethan Lee. I’m your husband’s younger brother and your one and only brother-in-law. It’s nice to meet you, my sister-in-law.” He raised his right hand and gestured to shake hands with Alyssa.

Even though she felt awkward, she still gave him a shaking hand as respect. While Alyssa was looking at him, she noticed that the man’s brown eyes glimmered just like a light. For her, those eyes felt like speaking to her that he was a good man.

Still holding his hand, she remembered she needed to find her husband’s car, so she took this opportunity to ask him. But before doing so, she cleared her throat first. “Ahem…, may I know where my husband’s car is parked? I need to check if my red luggage was there.” She asked him blatantly, although she found it awkward.

The man let go of her hand. “Ah, so the red luggage was yours?”

Alyssa suddenly came to life hearing those words from him that she quickly answered cheerfully. “Yes, it’s mine!”

“Did you see it?” She asked, focusing on his face while waiting for his answer.

He took a step towards her. “Come, follow me. I’ll show you where the luggage is.” He said, at once turning his back on her. Then he stepped upstairs while Alyssa followed him. They went to the very last room until they reached it.

Ethan opened the room. Upon opening, many kinds of stuff appear before them. It turned out to be their storage room. He stretches his enormous hands and opens the brown cabinet. Then he slowly took something in it. Alyssa wants to know if the thing he grabbed was her luggage, but his broad shoulder covers it, so she waits for him to turn around.

“Is this the one you’re looking for?” he asked Alyssa as he turned around towards her, holding red luggage.

Alyssa stared at it. Indeed, it was her red luggage. Alyssa was so glad that she couldn’t help grinning at him while reaching for her luggage from him. “Yes, this is it! Thank you so much.”

Ethan smiled back at her, judging by his facial expression. Alyssa guessed Ethan felt delighted that she thanked him. “You’re welcome, so will you join me to eat?” Ethan asked.

While gazing at him, she felt Ethan’s facial expression saying that he badly needed a companion, and as compensation for helping her, she agreed. “Okay, I will accompany you, but before I can do that, can I take a shower first? I felt like I was smelly already.”

Ethan beams at her. “Okay, I’ll wait for you in the dining room, then.”

Alyssa hurriedly went to their room, holding her luggage and carefully opening the door so that her husband would not be awake if ever he was still sleeping. Upon seeing her husband still sound asleep, she slowly put it on the side of his closet and opened it. Alyssa rummaged her towel inside the luggage and took it. Holding the towel in her hand, she immediately went to the bathroom.

Her husband had a sizable washroom and a bathtub in it. That she never in her whole life she experienced. Slowly, she took off her clothes until nothing had left and then turned on the shower valve. Then she felt the water drop from the showerhead. She closed her eyes as she savored the water flowing all over her body.

Leonard wakes up from sleeping. Touching his bed to know if his wife was still asleep, but it was empty. Turning to the right side of his bed, making sure his wife was not on it, and indeed, his wife was no longer on the bed, he thought maybe his wife was downstairs.

Leonard had a hangover, and his body felt so hot. Wanting to take a shower, he slowly stands upon his bed and takes his towel from the closet to bathe. He is used to being the only one who uses his bathroom unless his girlfriend, Elena Salvador, comes. So Leonard went straight to his bathroom. Unintentionally, he saw his wife, who was soaking wet naked, enjoying the shower.

He could not deny that the woman he married had a perfect body, just like a perfect sculpture. Suddenly, his body heats even more still he struggles against it.

Fortunately, the force of the pouring water helped him be unnoticed by his wife, so he took a chance to rush away from the bathroom without being noticed.

“Get a hold of yourself, Leonard. Please, remind yourself that you love your girlfriend, and that woman in the bathroom is a seducer!” he uttered to himself.

Since his brother’s room was just next to him, he thought about using his brother’s bathroom. He goes outside to ask permission from his brother. He hurried to his brother’s room but unfortunately, it was not there, so he just went out and entered the guest room and bathed.
