C12 Chapter 12
Autumn's POV
The squawking of gulls, wakes me up this morning. I stretch my tired limbs, yawning lazily. I go to the bathroom, to brush my teeth and take a shower. I'm going for a swim today. Leah told me I could use the pool at the back of the house, whenever I felt like. I fetch a bikini from my closet and slip it on. I loosen my hair from the knot I tied it in the previous day. I look at my reflection in the mirror. Gal, you've got a banging body. I put on a robe, and head downstairs.
I go to the kitchen to get a bottle of water. After the refreshing drink, I trash the bottle in the bin. I get to the pool, and just sit by the edge, dipping my feet in the water. The water is frigid. I remove my robe, and place it on a pink folding chair. I climbed the ladder, hop on the springboard, and dive into the pool. Woaahhh.....I feel so energized. I can't remember the last time I went for a swim. I surface from the water, and inhale the fresh autumn wind, liking the feel of the wind against my cheek. I remove a strand of hair from my mouth, and start taking simple strokes in the water. After about 30 minutes, I leave the pool, leaving only my thighs in the water. Then, a strange scent wafts into my nose. I turn around, just in time to see this handsome blond male werewolf coming towards me.
He's shirtless, and is wearing only a pair of shorts that's hung dangerously low on his waist, exposing his v line. I glance up, his toned abs coming into view, his well defined chest and those muscular arms, Oh my. Amy growls in my head, not liking how I'm thinking of someone who's not my mate. I step out of the pool, forgetting I'm only in a tiny bikini, when I see his eyes on my almost transparent chest, I get my senses back. Shit, I mentally curse to myself. I scramble towards the chair, where my neatly folded robe lies, but he gets there before me, and hands it over.
“Thanks" I say, while putting it on.
“No problem, I'm Liam by the way" he says extending his arm. I take it in mine, and shake it.
“I'm Autumn." What he does next, surprises me. He reaches his hand to my hair, and removes a strand stuck on my face. But his hand remains at the back of my head, moving in a vertical direction. I don't feel any sparks, infact, I'm quite irritated right now.
“Uhmm, thanks" I say, moving out of his grip, and heading into the house. “Well, that was weird" I say when I get in. I rush upstairs, not wanting to be followed by anyone. I run a shower to get rid of the chlorine and any foreign agents I must have picked from the pool. I'm training with the other wolves today. I've gotten a bit rusty, so I need to get back on track. I'm going to try a bad girl outfit today. I go to my closet, and select a black leather biker jacket, a white tank top, a pair of black cargo pants, and black combats boots. I like the outfit, it kind of gives a Ronda Rousey vibe. I leave for the location Leah gave me.
When I get there, the number of wolves I see, is astonishing. Wowww.......this pack is really huge. They've all shifted, so I strip behind a tree, and do the same. When I get back, I see Thomas, the Beta I think. From his body expression, I know that he just mindlinked them. But since I'm not yet an official member of the pack, I can't get the instructions. A female gray wolf, nudges me in the side. I turn, smelling a sweet caramel scent. It must be Leah. Suddenly, all the wolves take off. Me and Leah follow suit. We run like five laps as warm ups.
Then, we pair up, preparing for a sparring session. I shift back and put on my clothes.
★★★
“Come on Autumn, you can do better than that". Leah yells at me. We're training and I'm not very good in human form. I sigh.
“I'm trying, you know?
“Again!!
“What?, We've been at it for three hours , Leah, 3 hours. I need a break and it's past lunch time".
“Fine, but I'm pushing you hard so you can fight in battle because you really do have the skills, speed, ability and size. You're bigger than most wolves, except Alphas. I mean Autumn, you're only an inch shorter than Luka in wolf form. That is fucking impressive" she walks up to me and grabs my hand. I flip her over my shoulder and pin her to the ground.
“Rule number one, never get distracted" I say, smirking.
“Nice move, but," she flips me and pins me.“ Remember you're light, so it's easier for your opponent to flip you. When fighting in wolf form, keep a firm grip on their throat. Don't waver or get distracted untill you can shift. That's the key".
I smirk and shift under her. I flip her over, and grab her neck in between my jaws. I don't put pressure on, or draw blood. She sways under me, and I release her.
“Good job, now you can go have lunch" she says, putting in her shirt. I wear my clothes and leave the training grounds.
When I get back to the pack house, I smell Liam's scent again. What's he doing her again? I ask myself. That's when my mate's scent fills my nose. He's yelling at Liam. Then, an idea pops into my head.
“Ohh, hey Liam, how are you doing? I ask, coming into view and hugging him. A growl erupts from my mate. I'm throwing cartwheels in my head, knowing he's jealous. But Liam doesn't answer me. I feel the tension in the air. I turn, and head upstairs, not uttering another word.
After showering, I leave for the kitchen. Upon my arrival, I see a short ,plump, elderly woman moving around, probably fixing lunch. She turns immediately I shut the door.
“Hello kitten, I'm Marilyn" she says nicely.
“Hi, I'm Autumn"
“Would you like anything special for lunch dear?
“ I think I'll just have what you're cooking, it smells real good" I say, when my stomach rumbles loudly. She laughs.
“Okay dear, just wait a little, I'm almost done".
When she calls, I open the kitchen door, and I'm greeted with a pleasant aroma. I look around, seeing different types of food arranged neatly on the counter. Ranging from grilled chicken, pork chops, pasta, meatloaf and tacos, to macaroni and cheese, rice, mashed potatoes, the list could go on and on. I grab a plate, and fill it with grilled chicken, rice, coleslaw and vegetable stir- fry. Once I dig in, my taste buds marvel in delight, as a blissful taste fills my mouth. I compliment her, letting her know how good of a cook she is. When I'm almost done, she comes back, this time with a chocolate platter on a silver platter.
When I finish , I thank her and help with the dishes. Then I leave for my room. I'm not sure I'm going to have dinner.
